I love your bissteak recipe, but as usual I add my own ingredients to suit my taste.
So, to your ingredients to boil the beef, I added 3 Bay leaves, 3 Star Anise, and some Worcestershire sauce and Soy sauce.
The finished dish will be lovely... I hope.
I made your මාලු තෙල් විනකාරී recipe and loved it. Thanks.

    Dear Anoma
Longed for this recipe I vaguley remember from my mother's cooking days, with tasty, peppery beef and onion rings ! .( May God rest her soul ) I did some Googling and found out that Bistec is actually a Spanish word loaned from English Beef Steak.. There is a Filipino Beef Bistec as well. The two dishes are quite different in the method of preparation. So it is definitely not a brocken English word for Beef Steak as many think .
Will try out as soon as possible. Thank you once again..

To the Leslie's comment, yes you are right. In English it said as two words "beef steak" . In Spanish this is a loan word from English and pronounce as "bistec". So to make bistec you only use beef. Use the word bistec in context with other type of meet does not make any sense.

You r correct, beef steak means British community dish, they make not only the beef, but chicken, pork, vegetable, or any other meat you can make steaks, preparation is similar like you prepare beef, but our people doesn't know much abt this preparation, as this is not our comunity dish, so they call everything as beafsteak, though they prepare pork steak, our ppl say porkbisteak, they dont know this is wrong, and nobody wants to correct it or no one knows the correct word, so this is it. Thank you Anoma sharing yr ideas and knowledge with everyone . Takecare dear ❤🌹🤗

Hi Anoma aunty. When my husband watched this video and he heard You were mentioned word about "Bistak". Actually he told me share this. He watched all the time your Anoma kitchen videos to make food dishes. Bistak word comes from Portuguese or may be Dutches. Because we live in Texas, USA. When go to supper Market we buy beef stake they sell beef flank stake it Spanish translation is "BISTEC De Espaldilla ". So I thought definitely ths it correct word. Aunty I know you are kind of curious to know this word. Now you can Google it and find out the story about the "BISTEC". I'll send you the couple of pictures too.
