At 2:30 you could use a pioneer and have a much more quiet report than other guns too, I've found people trying to snipe next to me with that gun before and it's bs how quiet that gun is
@@tylereasley1748 I’ve been getting sniped from 20-30 metres away with a suppressed Pioneer and couldn’t tell where they were. It actually is pretty quiet
A good set of camo gear and a good bush is the difference between life and death
You'd be surprised how important camouflage is in DayZ. My group spotted this guy from over 400yds because he had on the purple polkadot bandana.
100%. It’s a pretty obvious one but I had to add it because of how important it is
buddy and I ambushed a group of 4 at a desolate factory when they spawned in on us. Wiped em, broke contact and spotted a white armband maybe 50yds out in the foliage. Their buddy spawned in. We dropped em. Continued to break away, ran into a guy in a ghille moving about- he thought we were his buddies. Dropped him lol. It was so clean the dudes were congratulating us and helped us build a base.

Yeah, that reminds me of the SOG guys in Vietnam. "It's not the amount of ground you cover, it's the amount of ground you cover without being seen." I also remember they mentioned stopping frequently to listen to the surrounding area. I forget which SpecOPs CZcamsr on here said well crafted camo is dark and irregular patterned. He also mentioned one of the biggest mistakes people make when designing a ghillie suit is they end up amplifying the silhouette. He said the boonie hat is the most vital piece of the suit, if it's setup wrong, the whole rest of the suit adds nothing. The goal is to break the outline because military soldiers across the globe are trained to shoot man sized silhouette targets.

Disruptive camouflage is also very important. Was a common tactic in MACVSOG to wear mixed fatigues. Dark pants and light top to simulate casted shadows.
I’ve actually found that doing a fireplace in a shed works pretty well as the smoke does not rise outside of the shed.
I’m always too lazy to roast my food myself 😂

Makes gun cleaning kits so valuable even after you find your favourite reliable gun
This is why the mk2 is the best pistol in the game imo for killing zombies. It's very quiet and does not need separate repairs as the suppressor is built into the barrel.

No, didn’t think so. It’s east to forget how shit we all were at the start.
One of my best moments was laying prone at balota airfield in full ghillie. Killed a 5 man squad who was walking all around me only a few feet away. Extremely messy fight but the first 2 kills were all thanks to stealth
An addendum to #5, picking a building with two doors can give you a half second of advance warning of someone approaching. Use it to get into a final battlestance (or riddle the door with holes if you (a) can and (b) are a gambler.

I've started carrying a claymore with me just for this, place it between the first and second door, hear the first open? Just quick switch to detonator and a let down for whoever's coming in

I don’t see why not. Adds diversity. Completely different idea for the camo net but I’d love it if you could cover a vehicle with it
Its not as aesthetic as it could be, should be optimized more imo.
I wish crafted shelters could be covered with camo nets. There's too few uses for such a versatile item

Been watching a fair bit of DayZ content recently, can't wait to get it.

My best tips
Stay on low ground and in the forest any time you can
Use guns only when necessary and leave the area immediately after using one even with a suppressor
Always Carry 3 bandages, 2 morphine, bloodbag or saline saline bag and 2 epi pens(great for maxing ur stamina and running from dangerous areas)
Scout the area before entering towns or crossing open areas
Never let your stamina bar deplete lower than half way
Zigzag run when in open areas
Always stick to cover/concealment when entering a town
Loot towns as fast as possible and only loot the starter towns for enough food to head inland
Only travel at night when you have nvgs
Only use a fire deep in the forest at day time
Always carry twice as much food and water you need for a journey
Carry a compass when in a new area
Stay in an area near medical supplies, food and water source, industrial equipment, and weaponry(my favorite is The Devils Castle's forest with my main base in the northern forest with stashes surrounding the forest outside the castle)
Find a 2 or 3 places in a forest to have stashes, take a screenshot and mark location on a map
Always travel with your gun in your hands and ready to shoot, most fights are going to happen from bumping into people or ambushes
Never give out your base location
When recruiting people use a secondary base and after you have known them for a while you might be safe to give them the main goods
Always do trades in a third location, preferibly in a small town far way from the area you stick too, never go to someone elses base to do a trade, and preferably do a trade with another person to watch your back, my favorite way to trade is to get to a location and sit in a building with only one entrance with a friend across the street hiding in another building to cover the door, or doing a car meet up on a road surrounded by woods with a friend in the tree line
Stock up and horde supplies once you have set up a base or stashes in an area you are comfortable with, everything will come of use at some point

@@forestersdayz thx, forgot to add playing like this is a great way to survive. i spent 2 weeks without dying on full pop servers playing like this, but it is very boring if you play dayz for the interactions like meeting ppl n pvp.
love the video. If you make a cooking fire with 1 stick and 1 bark the fire will burn out faster and you can cook on the coals instead of the flame, you will have time to cook everything and coals do not emit smoke or bright light.
Another good advice is to be vigilant of your surroundings. Always listen for sounds.
Avoid using roads and use tree lines and foilage for cover. And scan military bases before looting them. And if you get into a firefight, get down behind something. Stay down to figure out where the shooting is coming from

My favourite thing to do is get a full ghille suit and rifle wrap. And just move in the forest. My favourite way of fighting is in the wood and having a few guys in a lake waiting to jump out and shoot someone :)
As a solo player suppressors are great. You can shoot at someone and from outside the range they can hear you and they don't know where to run/hide. I literally shoot at people and they hide behind a building thinking I can't see them anymore. I use the M4 and Pioneer because they use the same ammo, suppressors, and scopes so I don't gotta carry much. Plus you can turn the M4 into a decent sniper with the right attachments.
Interesting that you like to share the same ammo among your weapons. I like to ha e 2 seperate ammo types because assault rifles can chew through ammo in big fights
Pioneer with a suppressor and an NV-scope and you're golden. Nobody can hide even at night🤣
I've been trying to use the smoke from a stove or fireplace in a house to draw players out, while I snipe them as they are sneaking up to the building.
It works 100%. Sometimes I hang around after cooking and find sneakers

@@NeFjuS When I play solo I wear sneakers usually but I still like the boots for the knife slot. Just depends on your play style

If you don´t move, there is a high chance you won´t get seen by the other player. and this is 100% real

If you do decide to wear boots wear hunter boots theyre the most quiet out of all of the heavy shoes!

Recently took to traveling at night, it's actually really fun, well, until the howling echoed in the distance
I was doing that last night. I had NVG’s and an AK103 with a drum. I heard a bear….close. I said nope. I battle logged with a bear lol
This game requires a lot of patience solo
Use gas stoves as you can dry your clothes and get the heat buff. Plus it is hard to see with no smoke

I did use them before but on short videos it is a big drop of retention. I’ve been testing no outro in last 2 vids just to see the difference but definitely not ruling out outros 🙌
I always light fires around midday in a opening of woods behind a tree. Never light a fire at night !
Any bolt action with a surpressor I find is actually quieter than most guns with one, so if you have a bolt action, put one on it.
My problem is I for some reason join the servers where the people headshot me when I'm behind trees, stalking through the forest area north of nwaf(staying unseen and it was a fpp server) and quite a few other examples. This really demoralises me as my brain is telling me this is not legit. I want to get good at DayZ and PvP but I feel like I'm unable to due to let's say.... players with super awareness and incredible aim accuracy.

Ghillie suit with a green ski mask is op wrapped gun and you can literally sit between two factions fighting. Shooting both and they'll have no idea where you are

Had a crazy encounter where i saw a guy run to my right while i was standing up, guard completely down, and he didn't see me because i was wearing dull green and dark colors. Popped him with the .22 and upgraded my gear. Trust me, color alone can be the difference between getting good loot and getting ate

I never really run into anyone I die from blood loss or I suicide cause I had wound infection and it's to far in.
Sounds like you use the rags you spawn in with quickly. Might have to go more stealth to avoid zombies or lock them in buildings or practice blocking and timing your melee attacks to avoid getting bleeds
I have had two people walk over me wearing green ghillie lol but only twice In about two years though

foot bleeds hardly lose any blood at all and heal on their own within 60 seconds, from my experience anyways, i take my shoes off all the time to sneak around players

@@rylann2868 You get an infection because you let it heal by itself... this has been the case for multiple patches now
