Thanks for watching everyone. Ended up with a total of 19 gallons plus 3 frames for Comb Honey. I think all in all it equals 220-230 pounds.
That’s awesome Brian👌👍
@@downunderfulla6001 I'm so darn happy with what I've pulled off. Started the year with 3 colonies, now at 10 and have this Spring harvest. I'll take it.
SWEETNESS
I am at 40 gallons so far this year spring and summer.... still have more this evening to spin out....
@@ECP Thats awesome. We've teetered out for the flow so anything i get now is pure luck. I didn't expect anything from 6 of mine as they are all new from this Spring.
Watching that liquid gold flowing makes it all worth it in the end. Great job
Thanks . . And it is definitely worth the work.
Great video. Just received today and assembled (if you call it that) my HillCo UltraMax (since I only run deeps). Only knew about HillCo thanks to the StreamTeam. Very happy to receive it and see it in action in your video. Also pulled my honey today and plan to extract later in the week as a camp activity for my son.
Very cool! Happy you found them, great company. And that is cool, memories there with your son.
Just wanted to say thanks for sharing your information with everyone I appreciate that.
Great stuff. Put me down fora bottle.
You got it. .
Very nice Brian! Looks like a smooth piece of equipment. Looking forward to giving away the extractor in a couple of days!
It ran really smooth, I was impressed. And I tell you, whoever wins is getting a great unit. I'm excited for the giveaway.
Congrats.... I pulled over 15 gallons this spring and did not pull 3 production hives... pulled most of my Summer Supers the last two days.... will have a total later... posting day 1 Honey Super Pulling video in the morning....
Nice work! I think I got close to 19 gallons after bottling some of it. I'll take it though. Never thought I'd get this much for starting the year with 3.
@@CastleHives 25. Gallons so far on summer pull... still have boxes to spin out this evening after work that are in the drying room...
Great job buddy! I'm so happy you had a great harvest! I really liked watching the separating machine!!
Thanks much. All of the work throughout the season came together.
Thanks for doing an overview on that 9 frame HillCo extractor, I'm hopeful to win the giveaway as everyone else I'm sure. But I had already planned to give a hard look at this brand at Hivelife 2023.....thanks Brian!
It is really a solid unit. I'm impressed.
@@CastleHives another question Brian, I've never used this style extractor....mine I must flip the frames over halfway through, does this rotary style really get both sides at once....thanks!
@@honeyandthecoop803 This was my first time using this style. Both sides would empty out, so you do not need to flip the frames.
That is amazing and smooth. Nice looking honey to brother.
I was surprised at how smooth it ran.
I can't wait to WIN that thing. LOL
Hahaha. Charlie would have a new toy to climb on.
Nice machine, and great honey harvest!! Hope the weather cooperates this weekend, the two grandsons are itching to extract our first ever two supers of honey from our two hives!!✌🏻
I'll keep my fingers crossed that you're able to harvest this weekend. I'm sure the grandkids are super excited.
nice extractor! waiting for you to spin my name.
Awesome!
Thanks!
Thanks for the awesome video!!
You bet!
Nice load of honey Brian
Thanks 👍
Great video Brian.
Thanks 👍
Nice job Brian!!! Thanks!
Thanks Mr 321. .
Awesome Harvest.
Thanks much. . I was surprised.
Congrats on such a great harvest
I was not expecting this at all. Such a pleasant surprise.
Very nice harvest and extractor. I bought the 800E at the Hive Life conf in TN and really like mine also. I can do 8 deeps or 8 mediums with no baskets. For my base I cut a 2x12 in half and spliced in a 2x4 to make a 28" x 42" base. I can stand on the one end which keeps it stable. It still fits through a doorway and I can unbolt the base if I want. See you Wednesday.
Thanks for the info Russell. I think the only step i need to take is secure it down and I'll be good to go.
@@CastleHives Mine is in the basement on a cement floor covered with linoleum. Wife doesn't want any holes. LOL
@@russellkoopman3004 oh man. . Lol. . Mine will be in a building outside, so I'm able to bolt it down.
Great harvest and nice looking machine!
It really is a good machine. I'm impressed.
nice production Brian!!! good job Bee Buddy! nice extractor!
Thanks Doug. It really is a nice unit. Solid build and was so quiet.
Brian! Congratulations on this amazing harvest! Woohooo! What an incredible process to watch
Thanks so much. It is days like this one where you can see all of the work come together.
Congratulations on your harvest! Something was different in your inboxing compared to the world famous Mike Barry’s unboxing video. I just can’t put my finger on it. 🤔 lol
Buhahahaha. . That made me laugh.
This is awesome bro! I love the extraction videos
Oh yeah. It's a process but well worth it. Good to see you D9. .
Nice Brian! Very satisfying at harvest time. All that hard work finally pays off. 👍
You got that right! Just sitting there watching the honey flow is sooooo satisfying .
You the man
Thanks much. .
Great video Brian. I'm impressed with that Hillco. Gonna see about getting one myself!
You should! I'm super impressed.
Congrats Brian! Wished my season went as late as yours. Looking forward to the Fall flow.
Thanks Tim. I am hoping to get the same if not more from the fall. We'll see. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
I’m jealous!!
A lot of luck. Changed how I feed/supplement them and had perfect weather.
Nice harvest! Congrats! I like your frame racks, too. I got a small pallet and bolted my extractor to it. That helped solve any wobble and walk my extractor had. I can add weight to the pallet with a cinder block or standing on it.
Sounds great! I'll probably end up doing that with a a pallet.
Thanks for sharing this experience
Any time!
@@CastleHives Hi, circling back on this. Im considering the 18 frame ultra over the 9 fram mini. What made you decide to go with the mini over the ulltra? With growing your apiary, do you think you will regret not getting the ultra? Thanks in advance.
@Michael Shelnutt I have thought about that, but really don't want to expand more than what I am this year. Overall, the 9 frame will suit me fine with the number of colonies I'll have. If i went above 20, it'd be slow.
@@CastleHives About how long did it take you last year to extract the 9 frames? Just the extractor time.
@@michaelshelnutt3534 Hmm. . I pulled 12 or 13 supers, extracted, and put them back on in about 8 hrs. Now I could have been faster, used fume boards or something. Extracting is actually fast.
Amazing
Thanks
@@CastleHives your welcome keep up the amazing work
@@paddyskywalkershow34 Appreciate that.
@@CastleHives your welcome I be honored if you want to stay connected if you want?
Make sure Mike Barry watches this for a How To do an unboxing lol
😂🤣
Looks good Brian! You should still have more before the years up!
I hope so. If the fall flow is similar, I'll be sitting in good shape.
Very nice Brian. I split my hives too much this year to try and get any honey. That's ok because with 50 colonies I should be doing well next year!
Oh wow. . Next year you'll have a ton.
Harvest is a great time of the year. It can get a bit rough when it's very hot outside so I'll be using fume boards this year, it'll be easier :D
I really need to invest in Fume Boards, would make it much easier.
@@CastleHives I just made mine, bought some felt, made a simple frame made to fit over supers, stapled felt to the frame, and added a thin sheet of black painted sheet metal.
I made my fume board too. It was so easy this year pulling boxes. No bees were even in the air it seemed this time around.
@@terrir8525 Can't wait to give those boards a shot. Easy to make, scrap wood, felt from the hobby store some thin sheet metal, screws and black paint.
@@lagrangebees I didn't even cover the felt. I literally stop at applying the felt. they were driven down in 5 mins with it. I don't think the scent leaves the fabric or even heats up and it still works great with honey bandit 😉
Looks great, Brian. Yes, it is worth all the work in the end, isn't it!!
I'm currently at 419.5 lbs. from 4 hives and still have three deep supers to pull---Record for me too in my 4th year. Like my HiilCo extractor as well--first year using it.
That’s very exact. I think your allowed to round up. Did you not want to say 420? Lol congratulations on your harvest!
Yes. . Congrats on 420. That's awesome. And I'm with you, I like that extractor, well made and does the job.
Let's Goooo
OH YEAH. . FIRST GOES TO PHIL ! !
That’s so awesome you reached a record harvest man🤙🏼🙌🏼🍯
Great genetics, timing, and luck. . Can't wait for next week. Everything is still looking good for Friday the 22nd.
Nice get to see Brian the Castleman in action :-) get that golden goodness, it's nice and quiet. Whats that frame rack behind ya?
Oh yes! The Golden Goodness is right. When you can sit and look at your harvest like I did, the work pays off.
That honey looks so delicious, question, the honey is dark looking, will it lighten up any?? Way to go Brian....
It doesn't really change color. I'll quote my son "Oh man Dad that stuff is probably the best you've had."
Awesome video Brian. Great job on the un bxing. It didnt appear you had the sweat that Mike Berry had though when he did his??? Hopefully you get some bottled before you come back down to the learning yard and i can buy a bottle form you.
Hey Rich. . I'll save a bottle for you. Have you tried the frame holders? And look for The Learning Yard video this weekend. Editing it now.
Yes I have used them Saturday after returning from Greg’s. There great. I have to admit I teared up when you showed the clip from the learning yard. Just the way you lead up to the clip and your video with the kids nose deep engrossed in the honey process. Just hit home. It’s amazing what you guys are doing. The kids love watching the StreamTeam also. Thanks
I loved watching this. I am a new subscriber and am now wondering how to enter to win that beautiful extractor.
Dawn, go to my last live and comment #streamteam #hillco. Also brucesbees live comment the same. Each comment is worth an entry.
Flow not done here basswood is about to pop the season looks a bit later this year, and that's ok.
We have teetered off some so it's time to treat and get them beefed up for the fall flow. If they continue like they are, they'll be setup nice.
Congrats on the harvest Brian! Looks dark, what do you think they were foraging on?
Thanks Paul. . Not sure. I don't think I've ever had an early harvest this dark.
Harvest looks good! Just wondering how you like the apimaye hives? I am planning on going with them as my main bee boxes.
I like them. The only issue I've had was with the feeders in the winter, but they have new ones coming out so it will fix that issue.
Congratulations on your harvest! Where did you find you uncapping bucket rack?
Amazon sells them cheap.
@@CastleHives Ha! I'd seen them on there but didn't recognize it from the description. One I looked at talked about scraping spleens. "Nest Spleen Bee Hive Scraper Cleaning Tool, Beekeeping Scraper Flat Equipment for Beekeeper" LOL Didn't recognize it as a frame holder. Gotta love description translations!
🍯 👍🏻

👍🙌🏼
🐝👍
Brian, is that a 12 frame super you have over the two nucs?
10 frame super. Each side is 4 frames under.
@@CastleHives Thank you for the response! I actually have 312 frame medium supers that were part of a big package of equipment that was gifted to me. They fit perfectly covering 25 frame nucleus boxes. All I need now is to construct or purchase a top cover for the 12 and I should be good to go to try those out on a similar set up as you. Again, thanks for the response.
Did I mention we were out of honey :)
Hahaha. . You got some coming.
Congratulations Brian on your harvest and I really like your HillCo extractor so I would be happy to win the Streamteam giveaway. How about you and I trading a one lb bottle of honey at Hive Alive? You eat some of my Roll Tide honey and I will eat some of your Buckeye honey. I really don’t think either will poison or kill either one of us! lol. And no eating Buckeye honey will not convert me to a Buckeye fan!
Don that sounds like a plan. I'll have to save a few bottles to swap with people.
bolt it down to a hardboard pallet
Good idea.
@@CastleHives we had the same problem with our large extractor used a CHEP hardwood pallet metal roof fixing screws through legs and done mate locked down or you can bot it down to the concrete
