- Here is my review on the iHome IP9 guys. I really liked it except for the problem with the buzzing / interference sound driving me nuts. I'll be returning it to Walmart, not sure if I'm going to exchange it or get a refund.

I bought 2 of these a while back - one for home, and one for work. They were both fine for a while, but both developed the same issue. The volume and time adjustment wheels spun easily at first, but now they're almost impossible to turn.
Tone, I guess it is an atomic clock which sets it's time using atomic resonance frequency standard (automatically). Very accurate way to determining any locations time of day. Many rugged wrist watches can be purchased that use this same technology (it has been available for a while now), meaning you never have to manually set the time (but most allow for a manual mode too).

Yea it makes sense that the buzzing noise is coming from the phone itself because of the reception/radiation, it would've been better for an iPod Touch instead
@uncletone99 Heyy Tony awesome review, but I was wondering if you knew if iTouch 3G can also cause those buzzing sounds? As you stated it drives you nuts, I'm hoping it won't because it's not a iPhone

Bought a used one and everything seems to play fine, but no sound coming out for radio alone or Ipod when docked. The alarm buzzer sound works. Any suggestions? Turned volume up, etc. Wondering if a sleep or snooze setting disrupts the volume? Also it came with no remote. Possibly the sound was muted from the remote causing no sound? Any help is appreciated!
Does it need to be plugged in to a outlet to recognize the ipod or iPhone because I have a older dock speaker and I just got and I don't have the plug and when I put my ipod on it it doesn't play sound in the speakers but when it was plugged in it did play sound in the speakers
Hi Tony,yeh i'm one of those people that the noise of that thing would drive me crazy too,lol,getting to sleep it has to be quiet,like nothing to be herd,than that's it,a bomb could go off and it will not wake me,lol,as for this Ihome RAC,Not good,even though you got it at a good price,I say stick with what work's best for ya,save ya money for what you really want man like the Ipad,oh sorry,Iphone 4,oh crap MBP,lol,Fantastic Review,Loved watching every minute,Well done Tony :)

With a auxiliary jack you can also use it with other smartphones right?
2023, after it was in storage 4 yrs, I plug it in, strange smell comes out of it. Speakers don’t work. Sets time OK. Charges ipad ok. Put in new batteries. What to do next???

we can't hear any buzzing. before you do anything, try hooking up the AM antenna. Sounds crazy, but it may just take the buzzing out.

I have the same one and when I put my phone on charge I usually play my music on the speakers. I have a problem when I turn it on it won't connect to my phone and the speaker but it will charge my phone

How do you set the alarm
I have one my girlfriend gave me. I love it the only problem is the volume wheel sticks and i have to press hard to get it to turn. Now once i free it up its good,have taken the knob off and used rubbing alcohol to clean around the top figuring some thing was spilled on it,see now she bought it at a second hand store you never know what has been done to it.

Okay so I have this iHome in silver and every single picture I see of this thing the clock screen is black and the numbers light up. On mine it's opposite; the screen is white and the numbers are dark. It doesn't matter how dim you make the setting it's still ridiculously bright. If you know how to change it could you please tell me? Anyone?

I don't think that's a defect. I have a different ihome and mine does the same when I put it on because there's that buzz but when I turn off the speakers it stops. All you need to do is turn off your speakers or play something.
i just both a radio clock recently...but then manny people told me that radio clocks are verry dangerous like mobile phone...omg is that true?
I get the interference as well with my iHome - pretty sure its just with Rogers? pretty annoying

Mine dn buzz at night n a koo thing I found out while I was messing with it is that if u have a droidX n u lay down ur droidX on the the play n pause big round button your droidX right away goes to landscape mode but not like u text n stuff but on home screen(s) wich it should supposely only go like that when you buy the assesory for alarm n video suporter thingy it's pretty koo 4 me lol
