The first real computer i worked on was the Ferranti Argus 500 when i was in the RAF back in 1973. My first computer was the Sinclair ZX81 which took an hour to build and from there i went to the Spectrum then Commodore 64 right up to where i built and still build computers and repair them.

I haven't heard of the Ferranti Argus 500! I remember the ZX81 but I started off with a 16K ZX Spectrum and then bought a 32K RAM pack to put into the back and I also had one of the small thermal printers that printed on silver/grey rolls of paper! Things have changed a lot since then. At least you have made a career out of it 😀

God I remember what a nightmare it was loading a game in the 70s to then have the message "loading error" half an hour later. Those were the days 😂

Yes - I remember those days! Very frustrating at times 🤣

The commodore max was more of a simplified 64 than a simplified VIC 20

Thanks for the clarification - I hadn't used a Commodore Max myself so I was relying on information from an online source. It would make more sense to base it on the more popular 64 rather than the Vic 20 :)

Yes - I knew we would have missed some out and there was a few more I could think of myself. Maybe I will have to cover these ones in a separate video. Thanks for bringing these particular ones to my attention 😀

when repeating "when floppy disks were cool" was cool. Not then. Not today mate.

Maybe not for you but definitely for some of us.😀
I came from using a ZX Spectrum with cassette tapes ... so after that the floppy disk did seem cool to me 🤣
