Eric Clark’s Travel Video - Split Croatia - Driving in Split, or any country, is VERY STRESSFUL!
Be careful, its pretty scary driving overseas. You cant read the signs. You cant read the speed limit. You dont understand the signs. You dont know anything and have to make choices. I have one rule of thumb I always use when I drive overseas... DO NOT BE FIRST IN LINE! Make sure someone is in front of you. I know in the United States we race to the front.. but dont do it overseas.

I find that UK the most stressful country to drive in and I live there
I drove in Croatia two years ago on the motorway from Zadar to split it was heaven to drive on no traffic

Surely, because you come in the right time. Here in Croatia when it's summer season, traffic can be so massive that you can barely go to the beach. But it can deal with such a things, just patience put in the first place and everything else will be fine. That what its all matter. 🖐🖐🖐

Been driving there aswell, originally from Sweden and it can be stressfull. On the countryside you'll meet cars going over 100 km/h and on your lane. Lovely country though, I go back annually.

It is a wonderful country. I love Split. And the Plitvice Lake is just simply over the top. =) Probably in my top 5 countries. =)
Hey, thanks for watching my video. =) I dont get lots of traffic, but you see it the way I see it. =)

Someone who already lives in these narrow streets knows much better that territory than someone else who came in for the first time. Every driver must knows perception of the vehicle itself very well and the barriers like walls, columns etc. that is on his way when entering narrow areas or streets.

@@EricClarkTravelVideos Sure they are. I suppose many (not all) part of your cities developed around roads themselves. Cities in Europe, not just in Croatia, are hundreds and hundreds of years old - we had to plan roads and streets for traffic into that situation.

If I had to give you just one word of advice, just one word. It would be don’t ever be first. This way you always know where the traffic is going, you know when it’s time to go, you know when it’s time to stop. Lol. :). Be safe out there. :)

It's lovely country to drive in the main motorway from Zagreb down to split and Dubrovnik is heaven to drive on compared to the overcrowded UK motorways

@@stephentaylor8843 I am in Croatia right now and driving is not so different to Germany to be honest. Not sure what the fuss was about. I was more afraid sitting at the back seat in a taxi than being at the wheel myself.

Next time rent a room outside of city centre and park in a hotel garage! What did you expect when renting in heart of Split in the summer time??? You are lucky you had any parking.
You can see the charm of old town and narrow streets butu I guess you decided to look for negative. Hope you had a lovely holiday.
