American Musical Theater Guest Sammy Davis & Charles Strouse

Earl Wrightson interviews Sammy Davis and composer Charles Strouse about their new play, Golden Boy.
The orchestra led by famed conductor Elliot Lawrence plays Stick Around and Colorful from the score of Golden Boy. Sammy conducts Night Song and sings Stick Around, as well as taking questions from the students.
Sammy and Charles Strouse discuss the many versions of the play they tried before opening night, and the perils of staging a live fight scene They also discuss the first of its kind overture.
The American Musical Theater was a New York TV program meant to introduce New York high school kids to the theater.
