      This is awsome!
      I just have to add something.
      Lifting propperly doesent just apply to lifting at the gym
      Any and all lifting should be with propper form as much as any space makes that possible
      Ive seen so many people that ive talked to who can describe how to lift propperly and all that, and then i help um move a bed around thr house or a fridge and then they lift it in the worst possible way, even tho there is enough space for them to do the lift...
      Just watafak
      We dont get a 100 lower backs and spines n shi, we cant afford to fuck them um
      Have a good day

      The problem isn't that people don't know how to properly lift generally speaking The problem is that they're rushing or being rushed because to meet the workplace demands it really does take that extra bit of time that will get them fired and they don't want to lose their f****** job and the irony is they're going to destroy their back and the company is going to fire them well before let them go well before they ever have a chance to have any health insurance and even if they do they're probably not going to pay for it and they're kind of just screwed in a way and people don't think about that so you know in all honesty it would be better to be just fired then to have a destroyed back but you know people are just trying to flip put food on the on the table for their families and that's it

      Yeah, It's not about leaning forward vs staying upright, it's about keeping your back straight and bracing your core.
      EDIT: You can bend your back too, but keeping it straight is the shorter answer and an easier cue for lifting heavy. The long answer is you can lift with a bent back and not injure yourself so long as your core muscles are strong and flexible enough and you're not using a weight that exceeds your strength or range of motion.

    • @nick-dq1hh
      @nick-dq1hh Před 7 měsíci +3

      I think it’s the opposite. The second posture creates insane back strength. I’ve worked on concrete floors huckings hundreds and hundreds of 50 pound bags on top of my normal job (way more insane). Strength comes in how you push off the by having force at the hips create an overall down motion, while the upper body goes up. Simplifying motions they take many hours just to even think about doing. There’s two separate forces to the body, and the hip and right above of the hips are the critical junction. You can see that perfectly above the hips on any Golden Age bodybuilder.
      But within all that motion, if you can throw your lower back into the mix at the right posture, you just become so strong and agile.
      All the years of punishment WHILE sleeping on the floor and using shoes with zero padding (I buy speciality shoes they are probably 1/8”) on straight up industrial concrete floors…not a single injury or any physical pain at age 33. I’ve put myself through so much in calculated ways, and I think rigid ideas of posture fit the idea of average posture (which the body doesn’t really like). When you tuck in your legs with that “proper posture”you atrophy certain muscle groups and turn them off to achieve easy posture for tuck your legs unnaturally as your motion.

      Depending on the object, you can alternatively do a deadlift, (wide stance) RDL, or single leg RDL. I do these pretty often with 40-ct of 16.9 fl oz (0.5 L) of water that weighs 40 lbs (18.1 kg).
      It's great to practice weightlifting techniques and apply them to other life tasks. 👍

      Ye cause bodybuilders r too focused on building muscle that shows they don’t train muscles that are important such as core and glutes and hip flexors and these muscles get weaker compared to their weight so they use other stuff like lying down machines and belts which makes them internally weak and puts load on their bones

      Yes, also, the depiction in the video isn’t accurate, your back has a bunch of muscles the absorb most of the tension, so that the weight doesn’t pull directly on your spine like depicted here.

    @ALucas73 Před 3 měsíci

    "In the 1980s, the New Zealand Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) began a campaign to prevent lower back injuries in the general population. A central tenet of the ACC campaign was the phrase “Don’t Use Your Back like a Crane”. While this phrase is not as well known among younger people [1], those of us who are older had it drilled into us via TV, print media, at school and at home. This phrase is still used around the world today, and the underlying principle is still being followed, although alternative phrases such as “Lift with your legs” or “Bend at the knees” may also be employed.
    The main directive from the “Don’t Use Your Back Like A Crane” campaign was to avoid bending over at the hips to reach down to pick up a load, and was accompanied by illustrations showing a person bending over with a flexed lumbar (and often thoracic) spine. The belief was that such a practice would result in injury."
    "It’s really very simple: you should use your back like a crane, since a crane is a mechanically efficient system that is specifically designed and built to lift a heavy load. However, while the human spine and the associated musculature are designed to lift a heavy load, you should also do the work necessary to build and strengthen that musculature to support the spine under heavy loads.
    Furthermore, you have to learn proper lifting mechanics, whether you’re lifting a loaded barbell or a bag of groceries. You need to learn to hold your lower back in normal anatomical arch throughout the lift. You need to take a big deep breath and hold it to stabilize the spine under heavy loads. You need to keep the load as close as possible to the balance point over the middle of your feet during the lift. Once you have learned the correct lifting mechanics, you have to train the musculature around the spine, and the best way to do that is by deadlifting with correct form and progressively increasing the load over successive training sessions.
    Strengthening your back and learning proper lifting mechanics will not only decrease the chance of a back injury, but will also increase your physical capability and make your life easier."

    If object is too large to fit in between your legs then the second option is correct. What’s really important when lifting is keeping your back straight and lifting with your legs. This doll does demonstrate back strength but you can pick something up with the second form and not get hurt as long as your back is strait.

      There is nothing wrong with using your knee. Your body should be able to do that. With the 2nd one the problem was the back was rounded and that can damage your lower back. If it was straight it would be alright to do so

    66 years old, 6' 4", 190lbs and lift heavy timbers, large rocks and other heavy stuff as I do my little one man landscaping deal. I've not once lifted anything with that knee squat nor the hyper extended deal. My lifts are somewhere in between and my back is fine. I still lift like I had 40 years ago, strong core.
    I can that the homeowner lift.

    The problem is saving your back requires crazy flexibility, and people lean forward to prevent dragging heavy weights across their junk as they lift.
    *also, when you're moving furniture, or other large items, it forces you to move away so that your knees are clear, causing bad technique
