- Here is a diagram of the pattern. sewveryeasy.com/products/read...
I got a little tongue tied....here are the sizes, the front 22"x20", the back 20"x18", bottom 20"x13" and the sides 13"x18" cut in half from corner to corner.
What is better than reading in bed? It's a pillow to help you get more comfortable so you can read longer! This DIY pillow will put an end to pillow propping. It has a great shape and a pocket for your books too.

This video is exactly how I like a tutorial to be: quick, simple and easy! Thanks alot - I am definitely making these as Christmas gifts this year - my whole family loves reading!!
Love your Singer 201 in the back. Have had mine for 60 years, Always a beautiful stitch. Have modern machines but love my Singer!
Just made this on Dec. 23 for a Christmas gift! Thanks--you did a great job explaining and it turned out well! Merci!
Great for reading and resting. Love the side pockets.
Just love all of your material choices. So adorable. Great project idea.
I just started sewing and this was the perfect (2nd) project for me since I've been on a reading binge! I am just waiting for my stuffing and then I can do all my reading in comfort from now on. Thanks so much for this easy and clear video. Very helpful!
+Emily Duszynski Be sure to print out the diagram, it will help as you cut and sew:)
You are SIMPLY THE BEST !!!! I am still a "Wanna-Be Sewer" at the Autumn of my life. I have a great sewing machine, YOU and HOPE ! You are an inspiration, with clear instructions. Now I believe I WILL create some love gifts for my dear ones ! Thank you , Laura !
Glad to be there for you:)
Laura, you are SUCH a wonderful "explainer"! Your instructions couldn't be more clear. I am so glad I found your channel, your selection of project ideas is varied and extremely useful. As for this pillow, I think the solid borders you added to make the front the size you wanted really makes the chosen fabric "pop". And, of course, your fabric selection is fabulous. Thanks so much for making these videos! ~Diana from Toronto
HRHDMKYT Thanks Diana:D

I made one of these a few years ago for my nephew. He's a little older now and can't live without it so I made him a new one that had "big boy" designs on it. He's so excited. Thank you
Love this! So much prettier than most store-bought ones, and the pockets are a super plus.

I've been wanting a pillow like this for while but it's not something I've seen for sale here in Ireland. My machine is already out and so is the material, I'm getting onto it right away. Huge thanks for sharing 😀
Beautiful pillow, I have watched this video at least 5 times, I don't believe I can make this pillow, it's looks to complicated for my next to none expertise!
You fabulous Laura, love all your videos.
I also ❤️ your videos. The perfect teacher. Pillow is beautiful.
Awesome video!! No messing around-just right down to the business of sewing!! Love your style!! AND we have the very same sewing machine and cabinet in the background!! My machine is from my Mother who bought it in 1955 in Detroit, Michigan!!
thanks and my machine was from my grandmother:)
I didn't notice the written dimensions until the very end when I had extra fabric. I took apart the entire project, trimmed off the excess fabric and all the pieces fit nicely. It was well worth the effort. It is an awesome pill. Thank you for this video.
Gosh that is exactly what I need when I have terrible headaches I can’t lay down, and that would be a great support for my back. Thanks for sharing how to make it.

Nice tutorial. Beautiful colors . I think I’ll use a lightweight iron interfacing to stabilize and for longevity of the fabric
I made one but didn’t follow your pattern. I realized that I should have. I also added a zipper because my mom has poly beads. Thank you so much for this walk through.

I have to sleep elevated after 5 back surgeries and wires in my spine I an no longer lay flat or I am in some horrible pain. I have the bed pillows with the arms but Comfort is very little. Thank You and thank you for taking time to watch:)
Hi Laura.
I wondered whether I was clever enough to make this stunning sublime BOOK PILLOW for my 4 year grandson. I gave it a TRY come what may. Oh WOW it turned out so well. I had 4 new cushions and didn't like them so I stuffed the pillow with this "funny clumsy stuffing" from the cushions. it was NOT polyfil and I was disappointed. The pillow was stuffed real well and it's ready for my kid when he comes home. I must admit the top corners of the triangles are NOT professional looking but I am a beginner. Thanks for this brilliant idea of a BOOK PILLOW. 👍👍👍
wow I'm super happy you gave it a try. The corners are a little tricky, but I'm sure now that you have done them once the next time will be a breeze:) thank for sharing:)
Thanks so much for this. We will be running it as a Mother's Day project in May. Will keep you updated on how it is received (our store is in Dubai, UAE!)
That sounds like fun! and be sure to have them print out the pdf it will make it a lot easyier. Keep me posted:) thank you!
