Weld Harvest & Dye Project

Our Arts & Ecology Lab focuses on the value, beauty, and utility of agricultural byproduct on the farm, and one of its initiatives is the Botanical Dye project. Resident artist Glynis Cotton (IG: @gbcotton) talks to us about her work with weld, one of the oldest cultivated dye plants in the world. Weld yields a vibrant, natural, colorfast yellow. The farmscape is abundant with botanicals that can be used to extract color for fabric and paper.
