  • As we explore the life of John we ask, with all his faults, what made him Jesus best friend? A surprising thought maybe.

    Well done & a fitting ode to John the beloved! Also, thank you for the reminder that our imperfection is the reason why we all strive to have a closer walk with our Lord, King Christ!

    Thankyou for this David. We have only just listened to it over breakfast now that things have quietened a bit after Christmas. I read some of that this morning in Matthew. Just before Jesus had been forty days in the wilderness.

    Thank you so very much, Brother Rebettes!!! I love this video that you made about John the beloved, best friend of Jesus!!! I love the way you speak and present things, speaking somewhat slowly to emphasize things and let things sink in I think! You have really researched this and studied the Bible and gone to the holy land!! Thank you so very much for your study and knowledge and sharing it with all of us! Your brothers and sisters!!!! I love all of the history that you shared on part of Jesus‘s ministry and also about the history of John and James and Mary, Jesus‘s mother, etc. thank you so very much and my love to you and your family! Sister Gay Michaelis

    Most of what we know of 1st and second century's church and saints we have it from tradition , word of mouth that came thru centuries and oral tales that were treasured as true events.

    a gifted lady I went to for reiki said I had apostle energy and was present at the crucifixion. Kind of funny my name is David (beloved), and my middle name is John. Wasn't really sure about God but there have been some visions and so I looked up and basically asked "Who am I?" A being appeared beside me; I think he opened a portal. Golden breast plate, red tunic underneath, glowing, pale, white hair, eyes shining like stars. He replied "David, you are a son of God", and then vanished in a flash. Pretty sure it was an angel. Another gifted lady has had visions of Jesus and Michael; she said she saw Jesus standing near my bed smiling at me while I slept.

    John was the youngest of the apostles meaning at the baptism of Jesus which is AD 27 maybe John was a teenager now when did he exactly die AD 57 is somehow not perfect please make me understand am sorry to question the man of God.
    Some claim that John was put into a boiling drum of the substance used to make tarmac Road (LAMI) but he did not die and he was exiled to PATIMOS they did not kill him and no one knows how he died or where he died.
    Which books bare accounts of this chronological event of the apostles

    • @DaveRebbettes
      @DaveRebbettes  Před rokem +1

      Hi Frank, thanks for your comment. Most our our information about the life of the apostles come from many letters and writings from near the time. Unfortunately we know absolutely nothing about the date or circumstances of Johns death. All of the stories that you mention and others were invented many hundreds of years after Johns death. Sorry that there is no more to be able to say. Blessings, Dave.

    John was still a teenager when Jesus was crucified . It is unlikely he had his own house. He took Mary to his parents Salome and Zebedee house where he was still living. James and John are always referred to as "sons of Zebedee" indicating they were still living with mom and dad.

    A nice video. Although Jesus had no biological brothers as Mary was and died the Blessed Virgin. If Jesus had siblings they certainly would have been mentioned more significantly in scripture.
