Holy crap that 4th tone is something magical.
Glad you like it đ
"It just gently gives it a sauce of bass" the use of the word gently for this tone just cracks me upđ€Ł
đ€Łđ€Ł ya not wrong đ€đ»
Thatâs how a bass guitar is supposed to sound.
Yeah agreed đđ€đ»đ€đ»
I also like the sound at the beginning of "suicide & redemption"
That's how a GUITAR is supposed to sound đ
I think that a bass with distorted tone just makes it a second or third guitar in your band, but that's just my opinion and I agree that it still sounds great !
@@tristandriant4539 the reason my sound is like this is
we donât have any guitarist in the band check us out @ Undurskin.com đ€đ»
Dude the distortion on that bass sounds insanely badass
Cheers Dude đđ
That is one truly impressive tone!
Cheers Steve đ€đ»đžđ
Iâm completely ignorant about the bass or any other instrument. I came here hoping to be amazed. And you, sir, truly delivered it.
Thanks Matey that means a lot đđ» took me a long time ( and Money) experimenting different ways to achieve the sounds I wanted for our 2 piece Band đđ€đ»đ€đ»
Wow what a soundđ± canât wait to see you live đ€đ»
Canât wait to release it đđ€đ»
Who needs 9 strings when you already have a BASS?
Indeed đ€đ»
OMG
cool, i found myself some source material to study! i'm tired of looking for guitar players to replace me so i can play the bass and bassists so i can play the guitars while i don't find a replacement for it. now i can do both at once!
you're a genius!!! thank you
Thanks đ, Iâm glad you got some ideas from my set up,Iâve always loved the guitar sound but could never quite play itđ Iâve been playing Bass for over 40years and back in the early Nineties I have the idea of distorted bass without losing the bass end but at that time I didnât quite know how to achieve it, it wasnât till 2004 that I did, but todayâs sound is more advanced đđ
At some point I will be doing a video of my gear set up too đđ
Total reminder tone wise of White Zombie .Very nice
Cheers matey đ€đ»đ
Thats pure genius, one of the best heavy bass sounds ive ever heard! đ€đ»
đ€Thanks Matey
Killer bass tone bro. Just picked up my first Boss distortion Ds1 to make my bass sound titanic. Metal Foreverđ€đ„
Nice one đenjoy ya new sound đ€đ»đ€đ»
Awesome Mok, this is proper interesting to watch and incredibly inventive. Can't wait to hear it live! COLIN.

siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick
Thanks đđ€đ»đ€đ»
Dude, I absolutely need an in depth rig rundown from you. This is by far the best, "fake guitar," from a bass sound I think I've ever heard. Well done my dude, I've been trying to get a good tone like this in my band as we only have 1 guitarist.
Cheers Dudeđ I have a sound like this because my band has no guitar đ€Łđ€Ł just me andy my partner in crime on drums and samples đđ€đ» but you need to split your signal dude, one for bass and one for guitar on a volume pedal so you can add the guitar sound as opposed to turning your base into distortion, it be great for when youâre guitarist solos đ€đ»đ„
â theirs a SLIGHT difference in sound â
Iâve gone deaf over the years đ€Ł
I was looking for the perfect video with the perfect sound I want to create. Your video was the first one and is the perfect one! What an awesome sound đ€đŒ
Cheers matey đ€đ»
Crazy
But great fun playing live đđ€đ»đ€đ»
@@Undurskin 4 Sure !!!
1:36 you need to make a video about this tone in particular
Amazing video! The keyboardish bass was breathtaking. What pedals/ setup did you use for the one at 1:37? Thanks
Hey glad you liked my sound đ€đ» 137 is a pog cool little pedal too.
Well Done \m/ ........ Love the Guitar-Distortion sound that you are getting with your Bass. Would love to know which distortion you are using? I also been ''trading'' a lot of gear in the past to do that sound with my Bass. So far, The EHX Pog2 is getting me there and I'm now waiting for my Boss PS6 Harmonist to add that +5th (power chord) muscle to it...........maybe the EHX Pitchfork could have help me too. Come On :) tell me which distortion pedal you are using? :) BEst regards, Mok!
Hiya Mate
I donât actually use a distortion paddle as such, I play though an amp and add a tube screamer đ€đ» pitchfork and Pog is also good, but I split my signal and run 2 guitar channels, you just got to keep playing around to you get the sound you like, it took me a long time and a lot of gear too to get my soundđ€Ł, but try different stuff out, I also use bartolini active pick ups too, so many factors but keep going and you will get your dream soundđ€đ»best of luck matey, checkout my link for some tracks all done on Bass đđ€đ»

@@Undurskin Cheers to you and Thank you for taking the time for the reply!!!
Hey Bass player to Bass player đđ€đ»đ€đ»
@@Undurskin Hi Mok, I to have done some experimentation in creating a nice layered beefy sound. Trouble is all pitch shifters and harmonizers I've tried so far have a synthy sound I don't like. I've been suggested to use a crossover as a high pass filter and just use the higher frequenties to create the guitar sound. Do you have any experience in such an endeavor? Any tips and tricks would be more than welcome. Kind regards, Lieven Geerinck from Belgium.
fatbelgianbasta
Hiya mate, yeah I know what ya mean but itâs all about personal preference,
I like the pitch fork but mixed in to my taste just behind the sound.
It me a long time and different gear to get to where am at today, just keep trying dude you will get there in the end đ€đ»đ
Was that a synth pedal that thing sounds awesome I want one
Yeah they sound great lots on the market too đ
Whoa that keyboard sounds sounds godly!
How do you even get it like that?
Hi Arkham, I use a pogđ amazing little pedal đđ
YES YES YES!! This is awesome. I've been searching for this sound for my bass player. Your tone is MASSIVE! Sounds like you're using an octave UP pedal before the distorted guitar amp tones. What exactly are you using?? Please let me know. Thanks!
Hi Mate
I use a pitch fork great little pedal đ
@@Undurskin Thank you for letting me know! Again... such a killer sound. Maybe I missed it, but do you have a layout or description of your pedal chain?
I love when the bass is distorted like that
Me too dude đ€đ»itâs a sound that took me a long time to perfect for my band, as we donât have a guitar player.
@@Undurskin "normal" bass sounds are just too quiet;)
You gave the components but how's it accomplished? BTW it sounds great and I'll be checking Underskin out.
Thanks Kev đ€đ» I did this video a few year back but keep meaning to do another đ stay tuned, as I will get round to it đđ€đ»
Hi Mok, amazing tones. I would be very interested in finding out exactly what amp and pedals, settings included, you used for the tone you're getting on 1:07. I'd love to try to recreate that exact bass sound on some of my productions. I just love the teeth and bite you're getting. Everything about it is very well crafted, including the verb tails. Just a beautiful sound. If you're not into sharing your exact settings, I can 100% respect that. Either way, you sound amazing, congrats.
Hiya Jordi
Cheers for the comments mate appreciate it thanks, it took me a long time and lots of different gear to get my sound đđ€đ»
I use a Matrix amp through a Ibanez tube screamer and pitchfork and really the rest is up to your ear as everyone as a different taste mate, itâs all about experimenting
plus I use bartolini pickups too which makes a lot of difference to my sound. Hope you achieve that sound you want matey đđđ€đ»
Remember the Paleto Score theme in GTA 5?
Don't you find how perfect the bass sounds?
I didnât hear that but I will check it out đđ€đ»
What pedal/s are used for either the left or right guitar chain? Im using a similar rig and never managed to make it sound that authentic
Hi Conner
I donât just use a pedal mate I use two guitar amps and two tube screamers that are separate from my bass rig.
I was the same could never get a good sound with just a peddle.
@@Undurskin well I send to a guitar amp as well, I use the mxr sub machine now which is cool and a epic wall of sound but not authentic to a guitar tone like ur, also tried the sub n up paired with a fair few different distortions and but need to upgrade that to a pitchfork
@@conner1466
I use a pitch fork too they are really cool , I use a matrix 800 amp sounds like the Marshall but very lightweight đđŒ
@@Undurskin so the guitar tone is a pitchfork with a tube screamer?
Yeah amp / tube / and pitch fork plus I have a volume pedal as well đđ
Hello
thank you for your video.
can you tell me where i can find the riff you play?
thank you
Hi Emmanuel
The Riff was just improvised for the Video đđ€đ»
@@Undurskin I'm a beginner. French.
you can tell me the frets (boxes)
is it 5 string E where A?
@@emmanuelmuller3625 hi mate itâs open E F#G đ
did the drum rig video referenced here ever come out?
Yeah đ€đ» czcams.com/video/9Qp7Xk23n-c/video.html
Brother you mind telling me what distortion box youâre using ?
Hi Joel
I donât actually use a distortion pedal as such I go through my amp and I
I use a tube screamer , đđ€đ»
Tell us about the latency between the four signals. Different digital pedals have slightly different latency. Does it matter?
Good question mate, to be honest if there is any itâs unnoticeable.
@@Undurskin I have 2 channels on my sound. One is for lows around 200 and below and it has no digital pedals on it. Another channel is with 200 and all the above for distortion, choruses and all the effects. This channel has more pedals including digital ones. Latency between two is not noticeable but we managed to register it while recording.
@@astrokratov_official I donât use distortion pedals as such, I send 2 clean signals direct in to my two guitar amps and live I use no effects, ie chorus reverb as the sound is massive and fills the room đ€đ»
Plus when recording I play all four channels in separately to give a great sound for panning the guitars đ€đ»đ€đ»
I have no idea how can I construct a sound like this on bass, i'm seaching for guitar sounds on bass but nothing like this hahahaah
Hi Danilo
checkout my rig here facebook.com/Undurskin1
took me a long time and money to get my sound sorted đ€đ
but just keep trying matey and you will succeed, Cheers Mok
Hi there......What Bass guitar amps have the best built in pedal sounds...........Thanks.
Hi, I use a sans amp for my sound they are a great pedal đđŒ
@@Undurskin Thank You
Ayup Mok.
How are you adding the Fifth in?
Is it a pedal, if so which one?
Ta.
Hiya Dave itâs a pitch fork pedal really good đ
Oooh love it, nout like raw power mate, especially cranked up loud đ, but as am the bass and guitar in the band I need to be able to bring either sound in and out.so it really works for me đđ€đ»
@@Undurskin
Ok.
Iâve tried no end of fuzz, distortion and overdrive pedals with no success.
I use simple double stop bar chords and drive an Ampeg valve head.
Not all the time. Added where needed like spice in cooking.
@@dave13dc it took along time to get me sound together, I tried everything, but never could get that sound I was looking for, until I split the Signal that now gives me everything I need. I run 2 guitar amps plus an bass driver to get the sound I need, and it works for me in a two piece đđ
@@Undurskin
My own band is a two piece although thereâs a different mix. We have no drummer only guitar, bass & vocals. We are Dieselbomb.
To get drums we use loops from Logic Pro.
Instead of a drummer thereâs a wall of cabs and we have to work at being interesting to look at being as the drama of a live drummer isnât there.
Weâre huge Killing Joke nuts and Ray gets a good Geordie Walker sound from a 70s Gretsch County Gent. He has that onstage vibe of being able to see things you canât. Lol.
Iâm a Lemmy worshipper and use a lot of overdriven bass.
Somehow it works.
This virus is holding us back.
Hopefully weâll see you out there.
Are you running a chorus pedal?
No mate
@@Undurskin forgive my ignorance. It's just such a thick ass sound!
I use Sansamp on bass mate and stereo bass distorted guitar so it give it a nice fat sound đđ€đ»
Was ist das fĂŒr ein Verzerrer?
Matrix 800 amp đđ€đ»đ€đ»
That bass doesnt has neck dive
Not sure I know what you mean matey.đ€
