    A bit closer to your home, there is a similar rock formation (on a smaller scale, but also with hikes) at Tent Rocks near Cochiti Pueblo between Albuquerque and Santa Fe. Also has tarantulas!! 😮

    Glad you made it to Kapadokya, if you want to visit a church less touristy with lots of amazing paintings go to El Nazar, it's a short walk from the Göreme open air Museum that you visited. You will find it closed when you get there. But there is a man in the house nearby that has the key and he will open it for you. For 20 turkish lira well worth it. Also check out Uchisar castle the highest peak in Kapadokya and the underground cities but you might have to drive there, there are 2 that you can visit.

  • @mrmarecki1
    @mrmarecki1 Před rokem +1

    $200 for balloon ride is outrageous. I was Cappadocia in March 2021 and took one for 60€, while some less reputable companies offered 40€ - COVID had some positives as well I guess 😃 Open Air Museum was already overcrowded, even though everything else was empty so I imagine how it looks now.
    If you have some more time there I'd recommend hiking Ihlara Valley - it's really gorgeous (if possible rent a car to get there, tours kill much of the joy)

    • @OnePackWanderers
      @OnePackWanderers  Před rokem +1

      Whoa, that's a steal! We thought $200 was crazy, too. Balloon rides in our hometown in the US cost about half that, and our hometown is overpriced 😂

    Tia and Chev: Just curious if you look at other people's vlogs before you go to a new place? For instance, Gabriel Morris of Gabriel Traveler has been to Cappadocia extensively and in fact was just in some of the same places you were just about a month ago. Thanks.

    • @OnePackWanderers
      @OnePackWanderers  Před rokem +1

      Good question! We're not proud of it, but we don't want nearly enough CZcams in general. We are aware of Gabriel Traveler, though. He was in Morocco around the same time we were last fall. We watched some of his videos back then, but not since. Curious to see how he liked Cappadocia though, since he seems to like hiking.

    Hah I was just thinking that you guys must do a lot of walking back to collect the camera for those perfect walk by shots. And then I saw the bloopers ;) Kudos to you for the effort. Though I wonder don't you guys wear caps to beat the heat? Looks like you guys have really grasped how to get the best out of the new camera. And your shot compositions ♥. If you spend a little time with writing unique one line video descriptions, you might get a boost to your viewership as CZcams seeds your videos more. Instead of using the same text.

    • @OnePackWanderers
      @OnePackWanderers  Před rokem +2

      No room in the bags for caps. Though we do have beanies, which we'll hopefully be putting to use in the next few months 😅
      Good suggestion on the descriptions! We used to do them for every video, and then I suppose I just got lazy. I'll do one for today's video 🙂
