Johnny never giving up on Ben and wanting to be with him even at his lowest is what I wanted to see all these years. Sadly, all I got was this, and then a few weeks ten years later. Shame on EE for not letting them find a way back to each other.
Yes, I agree. They're perfect complements, as well as each other's first big crush and confidante. They've been there for each other in good moments (milestones) and bad (traumas). They were even written and designed to be an endgame couple in the first place (well, Johnny at least was conceptualised as Ben's future partner). It's a pity that now, ten years on, Ben is indefinitely written out as he's doing time, while Johnny is returning after several years away at the same time. It's like every writer since 2017 has conspired to keep them apart. Seems unfair, seems star-crossed.
