    Great video Alan!!! 😀 Simagic is certainly winning my vote at the moment 😍 As mentioned, as long as the Sigma Cortex converter doesn't dampen the experience on PS5, this Ecosystem looks to be the one for me!!! Cheers Don, Perth WA (Dons Shed and Xplor Overland)

      Honestly Don, Simagic are doing a lot of things right these days.
      You know the box of springs and bolts in the P1000 box that I just ignored? It was a mistake not to unbox that on camera. I thought it would be a boring box of bolts, but my oh my the quality of the machined aluminium rods and the included hex keys was stunning.
      There is so much love in the design, manufacturing and finishing of their products. If the Sigma works like it's advertised, buying Simagic is an easy decision.

    Great video and nice to hear an Australian take on this gear! Was looking forward to hearing your thoughts on what it was like to use the Alpha Mini and FX-C in iRacing. How was it? I've got a Fanatec CSW v2.5 and Formula Carbon wheel at the moment. They've been great but I'm starting to have issues with the wheel and I think I'm ready to upgrade.

    • @DrAlanQuan
      @DrAlanQuan  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Hi Luke thanks for reaching out. The Alpha Mini and FX-C pair really nicely and with great on iRacing. Everything is so much more solid build than my Fanatec gear and it looks really special, where the CSW2.5 and Formula carbon both look a bit cobbled together and dated by today's standards.
      I will say this, after all this time I still don't love the button placement on the FX - none of the buttons are where my thumb expects them to be - my Fanatec Formula V2 buttons (which I think has the same button footprint as your wheel) all fall very naturally under my thumb. The GT Neo is much better in this regard. I'll have a video out in a week or so about that and how it compares to the FX but basically I think the GT Neo is the one to buy at least in my present opinion.
      Service from RaceKraft and Simrigs.com is awesome though, they are friendly and helpful and I think you'll have a good upgrade experience if you go this way.

      I've been looking closely at the GT Neo actually! I primarily drive formula cars so I'll be keen to see what you think.

    It says "without QR" because sometimes they include a wheelside QR70 (or QR50), which allows you to use any 70mm hole pattern wheel (or 50mm in the case of the QR50).
    Its pretty useful because you can buy a cheap 70mm hole pattern wheel for like $40 and get driving for a lot less than buying a Simagic wheel.
    Also the reason the green LED lights up when you turn the wheel is because you are generating electricity by doing that. (A generator is basically just a motor). The green led lighting up is not intentially designed that way.

    • @DrAlanQuan
      @DrAlanQuan  Před 3 měsíci

      I don't think I've ever seen a Simagic wheelbase offered with a bundled QR - granted I haven't been shopping for one since I was supplied my review units (one of which has been returned).
      I like the fact that the power generation is easily visualisable. It's a neat little detail and it reminds me of how much I love STEM stuff

    WoW!! That was a massive unboxing. I enjoyed every bit of it and I can't wait to see these products fitted in a rig and most of all get your opinion on their performance and value. So far, I am impressed by the quality and thought that went into creating them. I will then take my time and research to compare with Asetek ones. I just wonder if they sent you the alpha wheelbase or if they only provided the mini and the ultimate. looking at my budget the alpha would be the one I settle on (because everyone is telling me around 15Nm is the sweet spot) but I am so caught between it and the Asetek la prima bundle because I heard I can later upgrade it to the forte, but not very sure about that. What really already stands out for me about Simagic, as compared to Asetek. is the looks of the wheelbases and the product lineup (wheel options, etc.). Once again, Another great one Dr. You are excellent!!

      Alpha user here, I've had it for maybe 5-6 months, along with the gt4 wheel & some heusinkveld sprints
      I want to upgrade pretty much everything on my rig except the wheelbase. I don't see myself ever needing any more power than the 15nm it has.
      I don't even run it at half strength 99% of the time
      I have no complaints with any of my simagic stuff tho, I love it all & never had any issues with anything
      I was also considering waiting for asketek launches because of the upgradability when I got my stuff, but personally none of their stuff looks as good as the simagic stuff - (can't speak on quality) That mixed with price & availability in Canada i just went with simagic because it was cheaper & looked better

      @@hypnotiq We share the same feeling in this; grab the Alpha and call it a day. I also heard Simagic under_rates their base's power, Meaning the peak torque power of the alpha could be a bit higher than 15NM, I guess that's why you also don't feel any need to upgrade it. I bet you having a blast with it mate.
