Welcome to a bit of a different vlog today, all about markets!
I originally planned on only filming one market but because my first two were so slow... I decided to film over two weekends instead and I'm so glad I did! The last one ended up being one of my best markets EVER and I'm really glad I got to film it for you guys!
Being a small business owner is not easy during slow times and I wanted to show you the realities of attending markets, some days can be really slow and some really busy and you just have to go with it and keep pushing on!

It's always so cool to hear different words in different parts of the world used for certain things. For us in ths USA we calm them pop-up tents or canopies. Marquee, to me, is a sign on a building that sticks out over the entrance, for example a theater sign.
My last market was in Dec. I haven't had any sales, so no funds for more markets. I live in FL, so snow and freezing temps aren't an issue....just the fees keep going up.

Girl I definitely feel you, my first two markets of the year made me so desperate and somehow every year I forget how bad the first few months of the year are... definitely makes you question everything you're doing! And yes the price of everything keeps going up and up!

So glad you liked them! I got some of the artwork from an Etsy shop and some I got made by a local artist but I designed them in the cards myself 🥰 they are always a hit at the markets!

I'm sure there are better ways to pack it but right now this one works well for me, so I'm glad you liked it! I will be getting some new foldable displays soon so they won't take as much room so I might have to do an updated car packing video!

Of course, unfortunately I can't share a link or anything because I designed them and they were custom made by a local carpenter for me 😅
They are definitely not perfect and there's a lot I would change on them now having used them for so long but my suggestion is to try to get someone handy with DIY to make something for you, custom to your needs and products!

Hi lovely!! I get all my claw clips from Ali express!
The reason I decided to sell them is that I wanted to increase the number of products I had in my stall that I didn’t have to make myself! That way I could have more sales but wouldn’t have to do as much work! It’s honestly one of the best decisions I’ve made for my business because the claw clips call attention from far away and it’s something that people all ages can wear 🥰🥰 hope that helps!
The last market set up is so unique and just awesome. I am so glad it worked out for you! Sales look like they were epic!! It does make me really anxious seeing such small items and so many people... I don't know if you do stock counts or anything after your market but did you notice any missing product? So many big bags i would be worried some of your pretties would go for a little walkie. Man your market setups are all so beautiful it makes me just want to get back out and do more markets but i really think my stint of markets for the time being is over.. :(
Thanks girl!! so glad you liked it, it was literally a last minute idea after my original one failed 😂 so it was really just luck that it worked out so well (plus having the benefit of customers walking from both sides!)
I was so happy with the sales, especially when the last two the weekend before went so poorly!
Usually me and mum keep an eye on everyone, but for this set up because it was so different than our usual, she and I were actually on opposite ends of our site trying to be on the look out as much as possible! We usually have more problems with small (unsupervised) children grabbing things and walking off, but obviously not maliciously 😂 but unfortunately its just something that might happen with markets so I try not to stress too much about it!
Aw I'm glad it's given you some inspiration 🥰 maybe soon you will feel up to doing them again! I definitely doing feel like going every single time, it's very tiring especially when I have a few on the same weekend but big ones like this last one make it worth it!

@@lazy_daisycreations definitely good having your mum there! That would have made it a lot easier to manage! I understand the little person thing too (being a children’s soft furnishings and play decor store myself) unfortunately the markets are just not that profitable for me so I’ll probably only do a few big ones close to Christmas but that’s ok, online sales are easier to manage when you have a 18 month old at home 😝

That's an amazing idea! I can definitely do that! I guess I just get a bit self conscious because my studio is always a bit mess, and not super aesthetic like everyone else's seems to be 😂 Maybe it will be more of a realistic tour? haha
