Hey @pgrapidz just had a video idea. since the secondary focus fire button got added, i was thinking it would be cool to see a Re-Visit on the Bismarck as a Secondary ship. Or a secondary BB compilation.
On your build, why do you take Mortar over Look at Me Now? To me, it seems like such a crap skill since you rarely get citadel hits with DDs in any case. It’s basically 60-80 more damage per pen, and for that you’re giving up concealment.
that extra damage racks up when you have a good fire rate like anshan. I’m more than happy to give up concealment to bump my DPM and wipe the floor with anything i come across DD wise. Also you’d be surprised at how easy it is for DDs to get citadels. Anshan is perfect for it, good caliber guns with good velocity, good pen and good fire rate. a broadside leander for example would get melted real quick
Right on, on citadels, it’s very situational. For most DDs, you need to be close range to a cruiser. The only ones that can hit citadels at range, in my experience, are the French, but again, it requires some luck. I’m looking for those opportunities, but it’s not reliable. I dunno, you’re better than I am.
i like the tashkent line a lot. but not the easiest one. otherwise i would go with USA line. do you want mainly torps? then IJN is the way to go. but keep in mind, with IJN DD's it is hard to counter other DD's
Literally anything but the ijn line. If you're new to the game it'll promote bad dd play that's torp centric. Teach yourself to gunboat on the American line first and opportunustically torp. 30k damage and 2 caps while countering/killing red dds wins far more games than 150k torp damage on an ijn dd. From there branch out to whatever you want. French/Russian generally hardest for new players. German and British are pretty accommodating and probably the most versatile. Ijn are effective if well played but one trick ponies.

If you gonna get benson try getting benham it’s basically a benson with extra torps and you can grind xp and coins
Yeah absolutely pick up atlanta or benham as your first premium T6. They’ll rake in the credits and set you up to buy T7s
