The, "You slept with so many guys you're starting to look like one" was actually funny XD
Yh, ngl, that had me laughing! 😂😂
Boom roasted
Couldn't see you behind that grain of rice was okayish too
And the “Kevin I couldn’t decide between a fat joke or a dumb joke” 😂
i love kevin's joke its so perfect
I love how Creed just nods in agreement with his roast.

fuck you shrek
True.
we had a funeral for a bird
What's your favorite food?
I love how Creed doesn’t even look offended. He just nods like he’s thinking “Yeah, he has a point..”
That’s what she said!
It’s like the Kronk meme. “No no, he’s got a point.”
He probably was having a conversation with his teeth
Why, you’re gay?
@@aaronrodriguez3251 nice 👌😆
I love how the “oscar, you’re gay” line just seems like a dumb easy joke but when he follows it up with Andy’s the delivery on the “and you’re gayer than Oscar” is pretty good. Nice joke to whoever wrote it
all improvised
True
It kind of foreshadows the episode though where Michael creates a rumor about Andy being gay.
My favourite is the Andy roast and his face
@@matowakan3741 literally wasn’t improvised at all lmao, the office writers don’t get the recognition they deserve

Stanley's laugh is the cure for cancer
Meechy Merc Em scientific fact honestly
On second thought, don't stop chemo.
Wish it was the cure for diabetes.
and as of now, the Corona virus.
But not for heart disease...
I love Andys insecure laugh while he mentally freaking out over if he is actually gay or not
Michael, aM I gAy!?
Goof acting 👏🏻
Jim: you should sleep with a guy, then a girl and then you decide
Andy: would you, uhh, volunteer to be that person
I thought the laugh was that he decided to let it go and enjoy the joke with stanley
lol
I love how after Stanley starts laughing Michael does that little chuckle that transitions from his bad mood into a good mood. It feels so real and must be such a tricky thing to act, I love it
I'm pretty sure that was not hard. He straight up broke character!
Andy nails it too. After his roast he's just forcing a fake laugh, but after he looks at Stanley cracking up he legitimately starts smiling and laughing too.
Oh they broke for sure
@@TVBTheCarpe ff🎉😮🎉🎉🎉😢
when Stanley laughed… maybe the funniest, most joyous moment in the whole show. Really out of nowhere and only a minute long. The magic of the Office.

1:44 Meredith's smile
And Stanley's laugh are gifts from God
angelas smile is adorable
Seeing Angela smile was actually really heartening
Even Toby’s smiling
Angela is really beautiful
Angela has a nice rack actually lol
You know that the jokes funny if Stanley’s laughing and there’s not a meatball in sight
Stanleys evil puppet laugh is my fave thing.

Or a newspaper about Scott's tots
Not just any laugh the high pitch hehhhhheeee

I think that was a character break but we ain't complaining
Spot on observation right there. From the moment Stanley starts his low key chuckling onwards is one of my favourite ever parts of the Office.
Right there He just figured out they weren’t hurting him it was all in good fun.
1:12 (:
I live for Stanley's laugh
Omg Stanley's laugh is amazing!
Sounds like Chucky
I liked Andy's reaction. That weird smile and then giggling.
The only unneeded and unnecessary character in this show is Stanley

I don't think it's acting. I'm pretty sure they broke character lol
@@lenseclipse exactly, that's great filmmaking, knowing when you have what you need as opposed to what you want. It felt real because it most likely was.

"Stanly you crush your wife during sex and your heart sucks" that had me laughing for minutes.

Stanley had a heart attack in that episode due to stress, so Michael thought it would be good for people to "roast him" to relieve the stress.. well he decided to come up with his roast after that
Nah u actually prolly laughed at Stanley's laugh not the roast.
@@gadgetboyplaysmc The roast was sooooo unexpected and, dare to say, fucking funny!

@@Moonlight-pg4ru Yeah and Toby is just standing in the background smiling, which would never naturally happen.
You can clearly hear that Andy's laugh was picked up on a different, distant microphone.. Andy had no lines in this scene, so he didn't have a mic on. The fact that they included his mic in a distant microphone clearly shows he was never intended to laugh in this scene.
This is one of the best office moments. A perpetually awkward moment turned into a wholesome and funny moment between the cast.
That was probably their experience for every episode they shot lol
This is the greatest episode of the series by far. The cold open, the new york scenes and both roasting scenes are just perfect
1:34 here's paul, enjoying his writing being acted out so perfectly by an incredible cast ❤❤

I have an idea. Take the first 2 letters of every word in your post, rearrange them, assign a numerical number to each letter, and SHOVE IT UP YER BUTT!
1:14 I read online that Steve Carell broke character at this part but just kept going naturally and it made the episode
I love how Andy is so offended but pretends to laugh 😂😂
i love stanley in this episode, whether he laughed intentionally or just found his roast funny, he removed so much tension from this scene and reminded everyone that michael was just kidding around like how they were towards michael before
I dont know about Stanley but I feel like Steve (micheal) only laughed by accident because of Stanley
I don't understand the tension while Michael roasting others. It was just a tit for tat.
Stanley was laughing at Michael about how pathetic he was.
@@Nano-ih3ig The delivery of their roasts was more animated and jokey whereas he came in with more of a score to settle so it felt more awkward.

Wasn’t that good of a joke, Meredith’s one was
This scene so natural that I am not even sure if they were acting. It felt like a blooper that made it to the final cut. One of my favorites scenes.
I bet there is a tape out there with all the other iterations of roasts he said. If this was improvised he was probably riffing a ton of them
Towards the end of the scene you see Dwight smiling but that looks 100% like Rainn Wilson smiling and out of character.
@@TheGrooby3 same with Merideth in the end
Definitely unscripted moment
it actually was unscripted, they knew he was gonna do something like that but they didnt know exactly what he had planned to say to them
I swear to god this scene is so amazing. I feel like the cast had no idea whether they were gonna continue or cut and since the cameras kept rolling they just had to try desperately to keep in character. You can even see on Angela's face at 1:20 , Pam's face at 1:22, Michael's giggle at 1:14 , Andy's awkward laugh, and a random voice at 1:34 that sounds like something that'd be said once the scene had cut
"The birds flew west for the winter..."
No show would ever be able to deliver jokes likes these so subtle the way The Office did
"I couldn't see you behind that grain of rice"

Michael looking at the camera at 0:31 with the "Reverse UNO card" face is always my favorite part
I love Andy’s reaction the most in this. Such good acting! I didn’t see this as a closeted gay thing, I saw it more as him with his anger issues who generally wouldn’t have liked any criticism or hate directed at him, yet Stanley’s laugh and the shift of the mood in the office influenced him to also laugh so he was in this slightly conflicted state but going along with it like he wasn’t offended haha 👌 That’s how I interpreted it anyway!
Yeah, interpreted it the same way
Apt, Apt Analysis ❤️❤️❤️
Exactly, it felt to me like the “I must smile so I do not cry” kind of sheepish smile.
Yeah that could be it and also he might have wondered in that moment if he is really gay and kinda freaking about it, but still was laughing to be fitiing with the others, so there you have the conflicted face expression as well, and could just be the combination of those things - it was all happening very fast, so he was just realy confused and didnt know what to do lol
I don’t think Angela is offended she likes being called small😂
Because she is small kinda like me bc I’m 5’5
@Mommy Dearest That's the point... they're not supposed to be well thought out jokes because they come from Michael Scott. He's not going to say "Lol you had an affair" when his character doesn't even know that...

@@shramanadasdutta3006 then it leads to him accidentally proving he's gay/bi lmao
I like that he is straight.
I love how Stanley broke the tension
Lmao when creed just nodded his head after getting roasted
My favorite part of this scene is Jim’s face when Michael says “They all flew west for the winter” He would usually do a ‘Jim Face’ to the camera, and the camera even pans to him, almost daring him to do it. But, Jim knows that Michael is sad and instead of making fun of him, he just goes with it. Easily missed detail, but imo really wholesome
as michael said earlier he says stuff like that to break tension in the room...so he purposely misquoted it...jim knows this now which he didn't in season 2
When
He also was the one that said "We're really sorry"
I lowkey also noticed that🤣🤣I was really waiting for him to look at the camera
Stanley laughing was funny but that little giggle from Michael at 1:14 I find funnier.
I consider micheal's laugh as a freaking excellence work from steve carrel, man he is brilliant.
+Joseph Kesar And he never got an Emmy for it 😢
+Dhruv Bhatnagar (Azor_Ahai) he got a golden globe tho. That's even better....
+TrollSauce Haha ! No man, it seems you are not familiar with award hierarchies. the Emmys for TV correspond to the Oscars for film, the Grammys for music and the Tonys for theatre. like the Oscars are awarded by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences the Emmys are awarded by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. these are way more prestigious the the Golden Globes could ever be !! Golden Globes are just an excuse for celebrities to get drunk in front of millions of people😂. they hardly have any credibility compared to the Emmys (TV) or Oscars (film)
+Dhruv Bhatnagar (Azor_Ahai) oh my bad I wasn't 100% sure but yes Steve Carrell by far the best television actor we have seen in years (besides Heisenberg) so I do agree he deserved to win an Emmy idk how he didn't

I truly think that the entire cast didn't know what the jokes were prior to him reading them off
I think the office staff let steve write the jokes himself and didn't let him tell anyone and they told him to just say each of his own written jokes..he did write a couple episodes for the show himself so it would make this scene more genuine and steve is a comedian.....I don't even think the director knew...they probably told him to write a short joke for each of the cast and then they would show everyones honest reactions....
"I guess the pigeons flew west for the winter" gets me everytime lmaoo
What I took away from the scene was Michael showing them how you’re actually supposed to roast. It was one of the few times he seem like a normal, emotionally intelligent, boss. Great episode in general

It's funny, in the first season when Michael's talking about how they're a big family, I thought he was just being sappy and stereotypical. But no. As the show goes on, they really act the part. They get on each other's nerves, they hurt feelings sometimes, but there's not one time that they aren't there for each other. This show is honestly more genuine about family than the vast majority of family sitcoms.
the finale in particular....jim Dwight and michaels moment....only thing left to say after that moment.....best. prank. ever..thats what he said...don't you dare!
was this before or after he tried to throw someone under the bus for the golden ticket idea?
In the original British version, the boss does the same line, but it's supposed to be an ironic joke because he actually treats them quite terribly. He's a nastier character. The original show was much darker.
I think they started the same joke on the US show, then decided Michael was basically too likeable, so they changed the entire tone
I genuinely hate when they roast Michael, I actually wanted to punch each of them in the face
@@mariog1490 As I remember, Michael encouraged.. no, asked.. no, begged for it. They were so uncomfortable with the request but you got to do what the boss says, especially when the command comes from someone as assertive as Michael. Still, at the end of the day, they felt bad despite not really wanting to say hurtful words to him in the first place. On the other hand, Michael does it constantly and impulsively each and every single day. So an episode like this was written as a device to give Michael a taste of his own medicine, which predictably he couldn't take. Hating the other characters because of what they said while excusing Michael's own behavior is a horrible takeaway from this episode, and frankly, quite hypocritical.
I live for Stanleys laugh. Such a genuine, contagious belly laugh

I have a feeling that Leslie Baker broke character and everyone just went with it. Could be wrong, though.
Intern Joe most definitely. So good
Justin H Yes...good point...excellent observation...plus Steve almost loses it at the very end when he mumbles ( something ??)
Leoric maybe, but the next cut to Michael when he states that stanley should throw away his pills indicates that it was scripted for Leslie to laugh
+StevePlays there is literally nothing to back up that this was improved other than assumptions
I don't think so because if you remember this was the second part of the episode where Stanley has a heart attack and Michael has everyone roast him to relieve stress because he realized he was making everyone stressed. I think they we're showing that Stanley feels better now, but the actor has such an infectious laugh that everyone couldn't help but laugh too!
