I'm sorry but the Japanese-English translator got it all wrong in the end... for the first question, Sotaro said "I'm very nervous because I knew it was a winnable match for me". For the second question, Sotaro said "I knew topping the last boulder would mean a gold medal so I was very happy when topping it"
@@savie591 Just a quick side-note: Mobile users can read the first comment, which is this one since its pinned. You can just pin a second comment with more upvotes (e.g. the one frome stonefox2546). This one contains major spoilers I would argue. Then again the question remains, who would watch such exquisite climbing on mobile.
Hi ! Sorry for the delay in uploading, the fact that the finals are at 2 a.m. at my place makes things complicated. Hope you will enjoy this awesome final ! :D
nice vid. First time watching the sport. Crazy stages. 4th in particular was outright in the territory of LAME. If most WORLD contenders over 180cm or 6 feet can't even get into the starting position, you know you done fked up the stage setup.

The second one was accurate. The translator said “I knew I had it”, it can be presumed to mean “I knew gold was in reach”
btw halfway through, Alex Honnold is a surprisingly great commentator- insightful and funny!
He adds a lot of precision always with a touch of humor it's so cool !!
I LOVE ALEX HONNOLDS COMMENTARY!!! We need more of this commentating!
Brilliant job by Alex Honnold.
Oh I love that this is the full video. It's always half the fun to see where the commentators' tangents go.

Yay, another replay! Thank you. Subscribed.
Thank you for supporting me ! 🙏
I can't remember seeing such a cool boulder problem as the 3rd one was. Unique, exciting and with many creative solutions. Props to the setters.
Yeah boulders were pretty interesting in this final !
Most of them were utter nonsense with silly parkour moves
Thank you so much for uploading the full final
No problem, your welcome :)
Yannick Flohe looks like a medieval priest with this hairstyle.
Yesss, at last they found a translator for Sorato.
In other events he struggled more with the interview than with the boulders.
The real challenge 🤣
Alex has some very awkward delivery for his interview questions lol
Thank you for the upload!
Your welcome :)

We need Alex to be the official climbing pundit 😂
im so confused, what did jan luca posch do? to be called out by the judges?
The judges told him he didn't start properly (all limbs need to be on the start position indicated)
when was it?
saturday 04/05/24 around 6 p.m (local time)
@@savie591 thx
@@savie591 do you know where i can watch this kind of events live?
Cheers
@@user-en9if5wi7k in fact you can see them on the ifsc chanel, but if you live in america or Europe you need a vpn (due to restriction) !
this looks like the absolute worst way to injure yourself a million different ways
Gibbon's world cup
this was just extreme poor and filthy route setting, felt like all climbers could have been hurt in all of the boulders, plus the dual tex hold (?)
