My wife is from Hong Kong and I've been going there for 20+ years. I love the place and always find new stuff to see. Rome and Hong Kong are my two favorite cities on the planet. Just love going there. Taipei comes close also.
I missed my chance to travel during my lifetime. A lot of missed opportunities and unwise decisions..so here I am toward the end of my life and I found your travel videos! I get pleasure from at least seeing some of the world through your lens. Thank you Mike.
Great video, although the weather is not good and really foggy, you can experience a different kind of scenery of the big buddha. Totally agree with what you said 8:18
Hey Mike. Did you go inside the giant Buddha? When I was there in 2013 there was a museum inside detailing how the Buddha was built as well as a brief history of the site/monastery plus a holy relic was housed inside. Hello Kitty had not invaded Lantau when I was there so I don't know whether the museum was a temporary or permanent fixture
Hello from The Netherlands here! Thank you for sharing all those great vids from first class flights to food vids and sightseeing city trips to places ive never been! I like your enthusiasm for food and video report!
Thanks Mike, I was in Hong Kong a long time ago. It certainly has changed and yet, not. I loved the tour and your videos. Sorry you left NYC. I usually am in Flushing and really love your restaurant recommendations. Wish you all the best in SF.
I love the fact that no matter where you go you make friends weather it man or beast lol. Although it was foggy,it still had some beautiful scenes. Love, love the large Buddha. Best video ever,,stay safe and take care. As always your biggest fan from Arkansas
The best view in HK is summer to autumn, no foggy, blue sky all the time. The only thing you have to deal with is the heat & humidity (ok, two things actually) Visiting in autumn would be the best, not too hot, not too humid but still able to see a clear blue sky.
Man, i love these videos. You're absolutely right, all the things that we have allowed to rule and regulate our lives are nothing more than trivial and unimportant. We as a species have just lost sight of that.Everything on this planet exists in harmony with nature - except man - which will be our downfall sooner or later, it's just all a matter of time.
What an awesome place that had to be to visit! I have often thought about traveling around the world to see various representations/statues of the Buddha. Thank you for sharing your experience (even with the fog).
LOL! Woke up in a Hello Kitty Nightmare LOL! I never laughed so hard - the whole break up scene with the cow was hilarious! Mike - if you ever want to plan a group trip sign me up!
Wow, I'm glad that by the end of your trip you finally realized that Hong Kong is like the New York of Asia. It is, after all, one of the most important financial centers in the world. An amazing place given its small size. You should definitely go again in the Fall when the weather is nice and less foggy. Also, plane tickets and hotel prices are cheaper then too.
Yeah like hongkong even though im a Filipino i still like hongkong. Everything about hongkong especially the people they seems to be contented of present things they have. It is just too bad that mainland China interferre in political econimic status of hongkong. Philippines also have wonderful things to offer but lock of consistency from our political leaders especially in the local government. It is too hard doing business here. Corruption is also main factor from local government mainly in the national capital region.
hay Mikey!!! lol, havnt seen you for a while. I'm a watcher. supercool buddha! and these buildings WOW. thanks for sharing your trip with us! have you tried vlogging with a drone ? I mean that would be good views.. I'm not familiar with drones they may be unpredictable.. anyway Mikey, stay cool! o yah I mentioned you in one of my vlogs lol just thought of that ! so funny. (in my vlog entitled 'my life before this one ') ..😃
About the fog, well, all I can is that: Mike, you've picked the wrong timing of the spring season to visit Hong Kong ;) During the early spring time in Hong Kong, it is always foggy and it starts to get humid, floor could be very wet and slippery, so watch your steps, also your head, because there might have huge water drops on the ceiling that seem to never dry out. Everytime I saw these situation, I think to myself: ahh, spring is coming XDXD
I went to the cable car but it was still foggy once you go to the top. And I also saw a cow and my Couz kept on taking snap chat tho. And in the cable car, my Couz danced on the pole in the middle. 😂
If you ever do Canada Montreal for food and Night life...Swartz deli for Montreal smoked meat #1 spot Dunn's famous for Potine fries with Chopped montreal smoked meat Fairmont Bagels See the Old port of Montreal and travel up the hill to see all of montreal ... Toronto CN tower skydome and its a 45 drive to Niagara falls And on your way to the falls a must food stop half way is Memphis Fire Barbeque Company in Winona, Ontario If your looking for awesome views Vancouver Island and British columbia is wilderness you will remember Not many places you can ski swim suntan on a beach and go shopping all in one day
Came here from beatthebush channel. Even foggier cant see top of buddha! Is hk weather always so bad? More cow interaction lol. You look a lot like jackie chan. Does anyone else notice that? Anyways, subscribed! :)
I think it was a good thing there was fog at the Buddha statue. I think it really adds to the mystery of it all. It's just too bad you had fog the rest of the time. The cows cracked me up. lol Mikey, how were the Hong Kong girls!? Have a safe trip home!
Hey Mikey, Thanks for the video and info you provide on your adventures;-)) Where are you headed next? You are so right as we must enjoy the little things in life....always pay for "experiences" in life as they will be memories we cherish forever;-)) Keep traveling Mikey!!
The day we were there the cows just all hung around the car park in a group - pooping. But we had lots of cute dogs lying everywhere! But no Hello Kitty... phew. And sorry the weather was bad. Hope it clears up for you next time you visit Hong Kong! :P
Haha... At least when you went, the fog is lighter than when I went back in January. I can only see within my 5 feet range. Outside of the range, all you see is fog everywhere.
Great Video! That place was beautiful, even with all the fog. The cow part had me laughing so hard!!! LOL Did you happen to find out why they had a bunch of cows hanging out all over the place?
+tinyhowie the cows are feral. They are descendants of cows that were released and left to fend for themselves by the local farmers. It seemed like diary farming was no longer profitable. There are feral cows running around other parts of Lantau Island and other parts of HK.
Exactly.... Hong Kong is super rush mentality, and no hotel had a decent gym...but then again - everybody keeps moving and result...they stay super thin. Hence, there is no need to exercise. Unlike all the fatty foods we have in America, add to that, most work place require us to sit for long duration during the work day.
I was crazy enough to run up the stairs. Not accounting the fact that the altitude is pretty high and therefore the air was a lot thinner than usually, I was a bit dizzy when I got on top. Also, last time I was there I saw a lot of dogs and not so many cows.
Not gonna lie, your the most under rated vlogger ever. Keep up the sick work Mikey!
This video made me laugh so hard... Cow petting and feeding vlog. Hahaha... Yo so cool Mike.
You made a friend! That cow really liked you! Lol

The cow didn't obey you because (s)he doesn't understand English. There was a language barrier.

One of your absolute best! Beautiful, funny and spiritual too. Thanks so much for all the time and effort you put into these videos.
My father in law was from Kowloon. This is hitting me right in the heart thinking of him. I miss him very much.

You feed it, you are the chosen one.
I love the fact that no matter where you go you make friends weather it man or beast lol. Although it was foggy,it still had some beautiful scenes. Love, love the large Buddha. Best video ever,,stay safe and take care. As always your biggest fan from Arkansas
*Thanks for the tour Mikey*
This is probably one of the most hilarious video you've done! Love it!
The best view in HK is summer to autumn, no foggy, blue sky all the time. The only thing you have to deal with is the heat & humidity (ok, two things actually) Visiting in autumn would be the best, not too hot, not too humid but still able to see a clear blue sky.
You're just amazing Mike! We are addicted to your videos!
hehe so fun, can really tell that you are a big city guy getting so excited about cows :D Great vlog man!
"maybe hello kitty grew up in this mountain village" LOLLLLLLLLL
SUCH A CUTEEEEEEEEE! I need a best cow-friend. Mike introduce us.
Hey Mikey... it's like the time we went on a once in a lifetime trip to Paris and the day we visited the Eiffel Tower was half swallowed up by fog.
When my family went to tour France, it rained when we went to check that monument.
I laugh when u say "you just go with whoever give u oranges, its never about us!" so funny

If you go back, it really clears up around mid april to may. The only downfall is that it does start getting very humid and hot then.
Hilarious when the cow kept following you! What time of the year do you go to Hong Kong?
Great show Mikey.
March to May is typically wet, humid and foggy here. Come over again October to December when it's much cooler and dry, with clear skies.
Yeah like hongkong even though im a Filipino i still like hongkong. Everything about hongkong especially the people they seems to be contented of present things they have. Hey Mikey you should do more flight videos trying out different airlines because they are really entertaining and you show everything.
I think it was a good thing there was fog at the Buddha statue. I think it really adds to the mystery of it all. It's just too bad you had fog the rest of the time. The cows cracked me up. lol Mikey, how were the Hong Kong girls!? Have a safe trip home!

Great Video! That place was beautiful, even with all the fog. The cow part had me laughing so hard!!! LOL Did you happen to find out why they had a bunch of cows hanging out all over the place?
+Xan The Buddha is in the countryside, there are lots of farms scattered here and there, the cows could also be raised by the monastery.
+tinyhowie the cows are feral. They are descendants of cows that were released and left to fend for themselves by the local farmers. It seemed like diary farming was no longer profitable. There are feral cows running around other parts of Lantau Island and other parts of HK.
BritishRacingGreen And they found a new job with the tourists, and with Mike lol.
