Watching optic throw maps against faze over and over again is just heartbreaking. Faze were the better team in the major by far but optic really came out looking better today and because of a few choked situations, didn’t get the win. Hopefully the boys can sort those issues because I can’t see them beating faze this year or even winning a major with the mistake they make (mistakes they only seem to make against faze as well)

@NZ-if6gg He was literally waiting for the bomb to be planted then move because he had no info, once the bomb was planted he he knew roughly where he's playing and then go from there, he's literally defending, no need to move. It's that simple, also you're blaming him when 100% the other 3 we're in his ear advising him what to do aswell. They would have been communicating, so all of them agreed to the play.

@liammbiscwit faded take lol. In a 1 v 1 where the other guy hasn't planted yet you need to take advantage of that. Simp literally has to kill pred or commit to an animation in one of 2 known open areas with limited time. Doing nothing literally lowers your expected win rate because now you are on the clock and now you have limited time to kill the other guy or commit to an animation in an open area, plus you are forced into action as you have to now come to him and your expected win rate is now lower. Not a hard concept to grasp.
looking at the improvements optic has made since the start of this season im optimistic they will fix these tiny little mistakes in matches especially considering amongst the top 4 they have a clear edge over TOR and NY

Agree with ben, the only map they were really testing their map pool out with was the highrise control. Faze smoked them on rio s&d so they didn’t want to play that, could also argue highrise control wasn’t a map pool tester either because optic were 0-2 on invasion control against faze at the major.
1:43:28 problem with pred’s play in this situation is Simp knows his position, him not switching it makes his chances of winning that much lower, then as soon as simp plants, again, he just sits dick in the dirt.

I want to post this question. Has OpTic already hit its ceiling?
Think about the last 4 years. Decent early on, teams catch up and then struggle to compete. Sure, it's a new team to some degree, but can they really beat the top 4 teams consistently?
OpTic should listen to this, precisely what Sam said, and literally just do that going forward. If they blacked out on needing one, tic pros shouldn't be doing that.
I think OpTic are comfortably the 2nd best team in the league. They've handily beaten both Ultra and NYSL on LAN but just can't get past their boogeyman. I would've agreed had they not changed half their team, but Kenny and Pred always perform on LAN, with Kenny's teams historically performing well on LAN near the end of the season.

They've also placed 3rd and M1 and 2nd at M1 so objectively speaking, the only way we'll know if they've peaked is if they place 3/4 or worse at the remaining majors. I'm not even an OpTic fan but the extreme over-reactions are getting crazy.
@@vCurzohhI completely agree with this, 2nd best team in the league and seriously think NYSL and Toronto can’t beat us because we don’t make the mistakes or choke against those teams like we do against faze. We seem to play near flawless against every team apart from FaZe, was the same at the major minus the search and destroys, Toronto and NYSL couldn’t match up against us but faze outplayed us but then last night, OpTic should have won but make fatal game losing mistakes multiple times.
This is such a crazy overreaction take. What ceiling did they hit, they beat the defending mw3 champs at major 2, and the defending world champs who clearly did worlds of prep going into major2 in NYSL. Optic is the only team that gets second, having poor performances from a couple of their guys in the finals and people act like they got 8th. Since LAN at major 2 they have ONLY lost to faze, so idk what "can they consistently beat the top4" even means, they're clear cut the 2nd best team at the moment and just played a close series on the maps they've been auto vetoing all year. The 0-6 looks bad and the KDs look bad, but its actually closer than the haters will admit faze is clutching up in games theyre outplaying in a majority of the time. @@whydouneedakno throughout the 6-0 the series have an average of a 9 point lead to faze, the team with the most game knowledge/preparation wins champs and optic challs a series with 2 of their auto vetoes and shows they can hang within a 9 point threshold of the best team, most maps coming down to 2-4 gun fights isn't as discouraging as the haters are pretending because 6-0 looks bad.

Reduce the amount of time you can hold your breathfrom 10- 15 seconds? No, the refresh after you come up needs to be slower that’s the problem. They can pop up for a millisecond and then their breath refreshes
Faze should be expected to win and it’s been that way for years end of. We may never think optic will win a matchup but the fact these maps are so close and a play or two away from a totally different result shouldn’t be so easily disregarded. Competitively people need to just enjoy some good cod these days without all the noise
