A song from Hue and Cry's "Seduced and Abandoned" album, recorded in concert at the Eden Court Theatre, Inverness and originally broadcast on 3 July 1989.
compare this performance to ANYTHING at Coachella 2022...no lip-syncing, no digital tracks playing behind the curtain, a full horn section, a REAL band...Pat Kane has all the power, range and control of the classic crooners, yet with that new wave / sophisti-pop sound we love so much ... this absolutely blows away anything today, can't say enough
@@johnglynhughes4239 Thanks for the reply John, I just subscribed to your channel. Speaking of Scotland I saw Big Country at MVCC in Utica, New York in 1985, one of the best concerts I've ever seen. All the best from New York!
@@totallyspicoli8771 you got it! I'm from the Scottish scene, lucky enough to see Big Country several times. Thanks for the subscription. Kind regards from the bleak midwinter of Glasgow to what must be a freezing New York 👍
@@johnglynhughes4239 Nice to meet you John! and you're right, NY is a snowy freezing mess right now. My father gave me the middle name of Stuart (unusual spelling here in the States) for our Scottish ancestry. I've always worshipped Cocteau Twins, Simple Minds, Altered Images, Thomas Leer, Scars, Associates, many more, gutted to find out Alan Rankine passed away. I'm checking out your bass work on the Rush songs as we speak - WICKED
Pat Kane is a SERIOUS singer. Many singers can't even last for two years without their voice deteriorating, and he can still sing almost this well even 30 years later.
I've always been a little frustrated with Pat, I don't know if it was his personal choice, bad management, but I think he should be huge, I mean mega, very few can control a song with such ease...
you should listen to their songs from the other albums, especially, Showtime, Hot Wire, Open Soul and their great jazz albums: Jazz not Jazz and Next Move :)
Seduced and Abandoned is a fucking masterpiece!
This is Hue & Cry at their absolute best. A superb live act with one of the tighest bands around. Love this!

Totally agree. They were sublime.
