  • This is the first video in a series of my northbound hike on the John Muir trail I did in July of 2022.
In this video, I started at Cottonwood Pass and hiked to the summit of Mount Whitney.
I did the entire JMT plus some extra miles to get to the trail from the south. The total mileage on the hike, including my resupplies, was 260 miles with an acclimated elevation gain of over 60,000'.
I hope you enjoy the video and that it motivates you to get outside.

We did the JMT NOBO in 2019 and this brought back such great memories. Thank you for sharing- great video!

The JMT is a lot of fun! I am glad it brought back all your great memories. That is why I do the videos so I don't forget. It will be interesting to see if I will be able to get thru the Sierra in late May of this year as I attempted to do the PCT. It will look a lot different in the snow.

@@MikeRiggsAdventures -This year will be extremely challenging to get through the Sierras early in the season like that. I wish you the best.

If you had been there Bill we would’ve had to of made a video of you falling off of Mount Whitney like you did in case of the domes!
