Hello Zebra! I’m glad we’re finally continuing back the main Mario Kart series with Mario Kart Wii now!
As my first comment for this playthrough, let me tell you something that may shock you about me and this game. As popular as Mario Kart Wii might be for several people, I have NEVER actually played it before at all, NOR have I ever had the chance to own a Nintendo Wii. That’s right - I did want to play it among other Mario Wii games, but I never got the chance.
My first introduction to Mario Kart was Mario Kart DS, which is the last one you played prior to the Booster Course Pass, but I ended up skipping over Mario Kart Wii.

It’s so good to finally see you play Mario Kart Wii! That was quite a lot of my childhood! Anyway, in case no one has mentioned this, getting a one star rank or better does mean something as doing that in ALL of the cups for each mode unlocks new characters to play in the future.
Mario’s voice acting is so nostalgic! Can’t believe we have a new voice actor for Mario now. Time surely flew by!
After you finish all the grand prix cups you should also do a video of the battle courses too

This Mario Kart game is my favorite one ever
I remember one time when I was playing this against my dad. I’m a huge fan of the show The Magic School Bus, and I made Miis after the characters in the show. It was the last lap of Coconut Mall, and Dad was in first place while I was in second. Dad was almost about to win, but then the Mii that I made of my favorite character in the show, Ralphie, had hit Dad’s character, buying my character enough time to get into first place and win the race! Ooh man, you should’ve seen Dad’s reaction! 🤣🤣🤣

I played this game in college.
Just some info, getting one star in all tracks should be enough to get everything in the game. Getting 2 or 3 stars is possible but that's basically just for fun.
With the POW Block, if you shake the Wii remote as soon as the final POW happens, it won't effect you as much.

Oh I’ve missed your videos!! Yes I played and streamed this game for many many hours when I was in my 40s. As an older player, I was known for not being the best at the game but I did manage to earn three stars! Yay! I also always played with Birdo and the dolphin dasher. Funny how we remember these details! As always, you’re one of the best and most entertaining game players I know!

Zebra I have 2 tips. ( I'm not sure if you ever learned these in a future video ) Tip 1: Try the stand still mini turbo. Hold 1 and 2 at the same time, Left right left right and it gives you a turbo along with gets you back to full speed. Tip 2: If you leave bananas on the turbo pads it slows others down. Allowing you to pull away from everyone else. Hope you find these useful!!

Oh by the way … as a lousy player I had a list of Mario kart phrases, one of which was “IN THE AIR IN THE AIR IN THE AIR!” that I’d yell whenever those pow blocks came. Yes, you can shake the remote to avoid the pow as others have said but my timing could be off or I’d be in a corner or something. Lolz. Other phrases i used to use included calling other players “naughty” when they hit me or attacked me. Finally, I was the worst with those awful thunder clouds so if you ever got a cloud, “look for cris ángel (me)… you WILL hit her!

Several things: You can dodge the pow block by pressing up on the D-pad right before the third strike of the block. You should also play online using CTGP, a mod for MKWII that has a massive community around it.

You can dodge the pow by jerking the Wii remote up as it goes off. If your on the controller pro hit up on the dpad instead.
