  • ‪@tobysegar‬ from ‪@STORROR‬ challenges Pete to some jumps out on the Gritstone rocks in the Peak District.
The jump is the gap between Fern Hill at Cratcliffe.
Toby then takes on a second jump and completes what we think might be a first ascent jump. It's still waiting for a ropeless ascent!!

I was thinking more along the line of creating a "Crack-Cour-Fest 2022" in that area ... or maybe with some Wide Boyz walls in a more urban area (maybe with a nice bridge crack over a canal?).
Both sports are niche, but they can synergise together to give the body a more well-rounded use of its muscles.

at the very least it could be used in preps to help clear nerves and test a spot. its not like storror does too many consequence jumps anyway other than over water and stuff. they are a lot more about the craft and the quality than the shock factor of death gaps. that was more their old content. though if they like a spot and want to do it they will do it regardless. but they dont specifically search for danger they search for good parkour.

I always enjoy the almost complete lack of 'macho' nonsense while you guys are doing seriously challenging athletic feats. You normalise being scared of things we would all be scared of AND you demonstrate that it does not require lots of chest thumping BS to overcome that fear with excellence and good judgement. If I had sons I would be watching you guys, Storror, Dom, Magnus with my sons hoping they would learn how to be wise and brave and emotionally real at the same time. Maybe I will learn the same thing from watching...

I just realized Toby's plan. He wants to bring parkour to nature. AND I'M HERE FOR IT! i learned parkour in Alaska, jumping around tidal pools and fell trees in forest trenches. This is so cool. A thing my mom did was running log jams. Which is just a water challenge over 12 foot piles of logs on frigid water. She knows a lot of dead people.
Weird i never knew parkour but just did it cause that was fun for kids in Alaska. Height drops, precision jumps to shaky lands. Swings from branches to boulders. Even wall runs off trees to reach a branch. Nature parkour was the original parkour.

I'm not really afraid of heights anymore after doing some rather challenging events in a high school class called "Team Concepts." I had to lose that fear because every day involved stuff like: climbing from the gym floor to the rafters (about 3-1/2 stories) on an extension ladder, doing a "dangling duo" (4×4s strung up 20-25 feet at different distances) with a partner, jumping from the rafters to a trapeze (and the only way down was to let go and the teacher would let us fall about 80% of the way before locking up the belay), and all sorts of other crazy stuff. It helped me gain a lot of confidence in myself and working with others.
But even though I'm not particularly scared of heights, the thought of jumping onto that little shelf over the top of a 5 story deep gap with basically no prep and a single tie-off is something different. It literally made my palms swear just watching the prep for it.

Great collaboration, it would be wonderful IF possible to see Magnus, Pete, Toby, Dan Hipkiss and maybe the Stoltman Brothers doing something together. Climbing , perhaps Stone Lifting Scotland at The Gathering. Climbers have ( mostly ) great grip strength.
