Making A 1950s Sci-Fi Movie On The Cheap

Sawadee khap my farangutan friends and puan puan khun Thai. This is another retro video where I make props. This was a short film called 'They Came From Somewhere Else'. We wanted a 1950s B movie of the Sci-Fi genre.
The plot: The Toasties are fighting the Velcronians who have strayed into their territory. A battle ensues and both the Velcronian mothership and the Toasties' motherships are destroyed in the battle. The Toasties have a power crystal which is used to terraform other planets. The crystal is whisked away through a wormhole in time and space landing on prehistoric Earth. A squadron of Velcronians are dispatched to retrieve the power crystal.
Meanwhile, on Earth, time has passed, and we are in the present day. A pair of staff in a school find the power crystal and take it back to their office. The Velcronians arrive and disguise one of their agents as a human child. The agent beams down and retrieves the power crystal. The Velcronians then invade Earth taking control of the school.
The principal is fried trying to stop the Velcronians and all the students are taking back to their classes under armed guard to await processing. A handful of students manage to avoid detection and congregate in a science room. They are unaware that the disguised agent is amongst them. However, when the disguised agent is offered a sandwich, he reverts back to his blue alien form before promptly dying. The students realize that it was the bread that killed the alien, and they hatch a plot to take a loaf of bread from the school kitchen and take back the school.
The military are informed that bread is the Velcronian's Achille's heel, and it doesn't take long to dispatch of the blue menace.
It is the students that create the plots for the movies and staff facilitate in the production process.
Most of the props are discussed in the video but there are a few short model scenes at the end. The buildings were made with cereal boxes with coloured photocopies of apartment and office windows glued to them. The road is made the same way. we then added some model people, trees and toy cars to create the scenes. Special effects were added after filming using Microsoft's Photos from Windows 10. There was an editing function where you could add special effects which they did not carry over to Clip Champ, their new editing program.
