- "In this animated retelling of the Book of Exodus, Egyptian Prince Moses (Val Kilmer), upon discovering his roots as a Jewish slave, embarks on a quest to free his people from bondage. When his plea is denied by his brother Rameses (Ralph Fiennes), the new pharaoh, a series of horrific plagues strike Egypt. Moses finally leads the Israelites to freedom by parting the Red Sea and drowning the Egyptian army. God then gives Moses the Ten Commandments, a list of rules for his people to live by."

29:23 God actually did not want to do that. He gave Rameses so many chances to do the right thing, but he wasn’t going to wait forever. When Rameses threatened to kill the Hebrews, he forced God’s hand.
Yesss I was looking for your comment God is often looked upon like different entity whatsoever cruel unfair..(in old testament )couse people have truble undetstanding old Testament.
@@charko4191 I think part of the reason is that most are so comfortable with the idea of God being loving that they forgot that he’s also just and he does punish sin. Fortunately, for the first born, they were not within the age of reason and were immediately taken into heaven. I think there are times where God will take people back to be with him sooner because they’ve gone through so much suffering because of the sins of others.
This tells us that no sin goes unpunished because God is the perfect judge. This is why we could forever be grateful for Jesus that came to bear the sins of the world. He was called the Lamb of God whose blood was the perfect sacrifice. He celebrated the final passover with His disciples before He went to the cross to be that sacrifice so that we don't have to bear the punishment if we accept Him... Was this story the shadow of the things to come?
Yes, I came looking and hoping for this comment. You are exactly right.
And at least the kids died peacefully rather than eaten alive by crocodiles
Although the intro is very impactful, All I Ever Wanted's message seems very realistic, The Plagues is veeeryy powerful and sad, and When You Believe makes me feel happy, my favourite one is Through Heaven's Eyes. God knows I've been listening to it, singing and dancing it for the 20th time this month.
Being an ardent Catholic Christian myself, I watched this movie with my family this Sunday. My sister didn't want it at first, as she thought it would be a cheap, boring Biblical movie. By the end of the opening she was already crying her heart out at this masterpiece, along with all of us.
One day I hope to rewatch all of the actual facts behind this, in the Day of Judgement. Maybe Moses himself will tell us how he felt.
The singer playing mosses's birth mom is Ofra Haza, an Israeli legend (rip), she sang "deliver us" almost in every language this movie was translated to... Her first words are in Hebrew, telling baby mosses nit to be afraid. You can also hear kids singing in Hebrew towards the end - when they're freed, and it's a part of the jewish prayer called "miriam's song".
I always said that The Lion King and Pocahontas were my favourite animated movies but then I rewatched this not too long ago and remembered how perfect it is
They never mentioned that God told Moses that the 10th plague would come from Pharaohs own mouth. The reason Moses tries to stop Ramses from speaking (28:01) is so he won’t curse HIMSELF
Happy Passover Everyone!
31:51 it likely did occur. There are remains of Egyptian chariots in the Red Sea.
Yooo wtf honestly other things could have happened but aint no way they drove their to have a skinny dip in the chariots
In terms of the escape of the slaves from Egypt via the Red Sea, that much is true, but it is now known that the Red Sea, particularly where the slaves escaped, is actually tidal, so definitely brings the nature of the escape into question
This is the only religious movie I know of that is enjoyed by not only religious people, but non-religious as well.
i think what is both especially horrid and poignant is that moses knows where to go within the carvings of their history to find the mural of the babies and alligators. he knew, somewhere, that this had happened, but never connected why or cared. then, he can't ignore the suffering of the slaves any longer, and even his brother's voice can't cover up their cries. it was all there, he just turned a blind eye.
31:46 my favorite moment, when Moses opened the Red Sea. 32:45-32:54 closing the Red Sea 🌊 34:15 yes, that’s the Ten Commandments.
This has to be the 4K version, the animation has always been amazing but it just looks extra crisp here
Yes! Did not see this coming. One of my absolute favorites!
Me too.
Please react to either My Name or All Of Us Are Dead.
Never heard a Jewish person complain that some of the cast aren't jewish.
This is one of DreamWorks zero chill masterpieces❤
The biblical accuracy is actually quite good. They were very faithful to the story. The few creative liberties they took were minor and they put a disclaimer at the beginning stating so much. The white washed thing is definitely a mark against it, but the performances were so good that its hard to argue with the results.
The voice actors race is not a mark against anything g in the slightest.
Favourite movie, love it so much.
Omg 7 minutes in and I just realised I'm seeing the movie's picture flipped
I had to look up that fire tornado because I didn't remember it either lol but it's there....
11:03 Yes, yes it is.
How can you not see from rameses perspective when he’s shouting for Moses at the end ? See ya is all you say?
I want to see a reaction of the whole thing from someone who doesn’t keep talking every two seconds, maybe pauses every 10-15 seconds to talk about what they think or comment on the movie itself (animation style etc). This guy seemed a bit more disrespectful after seeing such a movie like this only to be concerned that the voice cast is white is just such a sign of the times 😴
Loved the video! If you want to see another non-preachy show about biblical figures, you should watch at least the first episode of the Chosen. It's incredible and the least cheesy christian programming I've ever seen. It's an entirely crowd-funded production (record-breaking funding, actually), so it's free to watch. Also, it's not nearly as "white-washed" as this movie, lol.
After this, you should watch the movie Antz. It was basically Dreamworks’ first animated film.
From this movie it is very clear that the Bible actually endorses slavery as so many people say...
I'm trying to decide if you're being sarcastic or not. You never know these days.
@@jameshunt9208 definitely sarcastic man. Movies like this shows the truth and goes against the mainstream. Love that it remains so popular
L reaction for not seeing rameses perspective, that’s his brother no matter what and he lost his son , and all you say is “see ya “ at the end when he’s shouting for Moses. Big L
