‼️Tokyo Disneyland is NOTHING like Disney in USA 🙅♂️❌🤯

- The ride technology is so far advanced in Japan and it absolutely blew my mind! Between the food, character interactions, shows & overall cleanliness… I couldn’t believe the massive cultural differences between the two parks 😳 Don’t get me wrong, the USA parks will always be my home. But some things are hard to ignore!

Japanese Disney Engineers: "So what's the budget?"
Oriental Land Company: "Yes."
Yeah, the Imagineers went crazy
The limit does not exist.
More like no… there is no budget 😂😂
OLC uses Disney's American Imagineers to design their parks.
😮😮out😢🎉_😮🎉hi😅😮😮uh😊😊hi😢😮😊hii😢🎉kittyoI
Let’s be honest for a moment, the imagineers need a raise. The rides and cafes are a masterpiece
Incredible
Imagineers had nothing to do with the parks in Japan. The Tokyo government owns and operates these parks only licensing the rights from Disney.
@@sambell4370but our US imagineers built it.
@judas1523 nope. Disney USA has nothing to do with any of the decision-making or construction at Tokyo as they are a separate company and only have the rights of the name.
@@Lady.Marmaladeactually the imagineers design the rides and it’s the Oriental land company that pays and builds it. That’s why the Asian Disney parks are much more advanced because Disney did not have to pay for it
Disney in US: How can we make the experience barely enjoyable enough to return while making huge profits?
Disney in Japan: How can we make this as enjoyable as possible?
Now japan has a actually enjoyable experience
Disney in US: How can we make it as WOKE as possible?
@@bunzzz07hello? 😭 why are you bringing wokeness into this 😭😭😭
Universal Osaka was the same. I took my kids to Universal Orlando back in 2019 and it was like a budget airline where you had to pay for everything. I was surprised the toilets were free. We went to Japan last summer and my kids wanted to see Nintendo World in Osaka. Not only was it included in the very reasonable entry fee (about $80 CDN) but there were water fountains in the longer lines so you could refill your bottles for free and I can't think of a single attraction you had to pay extra to see.
God forbid a company makes money so they can actually open a park in Tokyo. Learn basic economics then come back and complain in the CZcams comment section.
Another fun experience to go to in Japan is the Studio Ghibli Museum. Although it's one of those places where you have to experience it through your eyes. Not through the lens of a camera. They don't allow cameras or taking pictures there. But in my opinion it's extremely worth it.
glad to hear that. I am going to japan next april and it was on my list of places to visit. I was surprised how cheap it was for a museum when I checked the prizes.
For those wondering, the beauty and the beast thing uses an effect called pepper's ghost, which basically is just strategic window placement, lighting, and sometimes mirrors. A lot of other rides use it, like the ghost ball scene in haunted mansion
I wondered if that was it but it went by too fast to see where the mirrors could be
Thank you!! I knew it was utilized in the Tower of Terror as well. Didn't remember the name of it though, haha.
u mean just like a hologram?
@@FayeFaye- it can appear like one, yeah
@@FayeFaye- Its a Hologram before Holograms. it's based on reflection. Put an object on the dashboard of your car and drive around in the sun. The object can be seen in your windshield. That basically is a Pepper's Ghost.
This is because when Tokyo Disneyland was in development, Disney was sponsored by many Japanese companies, and so they had more money to build more amazing things. I think they still have that funding to this day as well.
Disney owns 0% of Tokyo Disneyland, they just get paid to design the attractions and have creative control over any changes. They get a portion of revenue in exchange for licensing the characters and other IP.
Actually it's because Disney doesn't run the park, the Tokyo government does. They simply license the Disney brand.
@@sambell4370 No, you’re thinking of Hong Kong, and they don’t operate it, just co-own a portion of the resort. It’s on the same man-made island as the airport.
@@Cam4Cameron The Walt Disney Company does not own any portion of Tokyo Disneyland. They own 48% of Hong Kong Disney park.
@@ghosty4Ah so they do quality instead of taking every single Penny out of your bank account.
Japan just hits different. They always put in those extra details that we just love❤❤❤
It"s call business 😒

@@CursedKeyblade1 I'm not a weeb. That's my sister 😭
Japan is about quality and satisfaction and I love them for it
Because if the Oriental land company didn’t work hard, the Japanese people are smart enough that they wouldn’t come in mass. Compared to the US where Disney is being horrible currently and people still go in mass. I think Disney was able to get an extreme foothold into the American zeitgeist in the 1990s that has continued. It’s deeply ingrained into the American culture after the 90’s to go to Disney that no matter how bad it gets people will still show up. I almost guarantee that if the oriental land company did the same things that were done in the US, the Japanese would not similarly go to Disney because it’s not equally a part of the zeitgeist as it is in America
A main reason Disney Land Japan is so much better is because it's not even owned by Disney. They were given the rights to take the park by Disney but other than that I don't believe they have much association.
Fun fact the dirst one is the same as the ride in the efteling called symbolica
Oriental Land Company is done for if Disneyland Japan or DisneySea fails. That's why they try harder. It's not like other Disney properties where a failure is just a small red line in the balance sheet at HQ.
I gotta get to Japan 😮
💯 percent you do

It certainly helps that Oriental Land Company runs the day to day of the Tokyo parks. They can go all out without as much need for approval from Disney Corporate.
🤔
I mean, why would Disney reject any idea of bettering their park? What would even change if they did own Disneyland in Japan?

Honestly if I go to Disney World I would feel like I was ripped off, and most likely was
Going to that one in Japan actually makes me think I would spend money on a whim....but I got my money's worth on that whim.
Disneyworld has world of pandora which love the whole world thing they did there.
All the elements that made Disneyland, so great for decades live on in Japan! What you are feeling is pure joy!
It was awesome!
Putting this on my bucket list, thanks! Great job!
When I rode the Winnie the Pooh ride in Tokyo Disneyland, i was laughing like a child again. I don’t get that in California…. I was flabbergasted with the detail of every book and cranny of that whole park! Even Tokyo Disney sea was just top notch to the next level!!! To the smallest detail to rocks painted on the ground, it’s just beautiful!!
Same! The designs were so elegant but playful at the same time! The parade was also so fun! Definitely recommend for an vacation (I spent way too much money on the cute popcorn buckets)
Same! All the details r incredible!
Yep, I went on that ride more than an adult should--it's literally the best sit down ride I've ever been on.
Japan is a cool place to visit, not so much live in...
i was looking for China head joke
As a Japanese person that loved the japanese Disney world, thank you for giving it more attention. And the beauty and the beast ride is just way too good like c’mon they put be our guest in it
Definitely. It looks way amazing. If you come to the park Walt Disney in Florida you will be lost, is it even the same Disney. BTW, do you have lines in Tokyo Disney?
@@vladdaily5974 I’m assuming you are talking about lines as in waiting for rides, and my answer is is that it depends on the rides. Like the beauty and the beast ride, it takes a bunch of people into one room and does a little thing (not spoiling) and than brings them into the ride. And the buzz light year ride doesn’t take that long either because it’s a ride that constantly moves. But space mountain is (most of the time) super crowded. Another one that actually took me 45 minutes of waiting was the baymax ride. But baymax is precious so it was worth it. I just got a little carried away just then but I hope that was helpful to your question. If that even was your question
You from the Shtates?
@@IMFINNAPRESSABRICK from the states, one of my parents are American, one is Japanese, than moved to japan at 4. Sorry I didn’t make that clear
Why wouldn’t it have “be our guest?” It’s the main song of the movie???
I went here here during 2018. Unreal place.
Loved your honesty (honest review)...also the "Now I can die happy" part was so funny...thanks❤
I took my bf to Disneyland Paris for his first time a few years ago. He'd expected to have a fun little time with some whimsy and rides. He was so blown away by how THEMED every single thing is and the attention to detail. Was amazing to see the child-like wonder just appear on his face ❤

It’s awesome!
@@Spokesmayne haha take me with you next time. So jealous of your experiences.

ぜひ、またおいで!日本は楽しい場所がたくさんありますよ😆日本の素晴らしさを知ってもらえて嬉しいです☺️
I was at Tokyo Disneyland 24 years ago. Can’t believe it has been that long ago. If I remember right, there were 2 ticket prices. One for if you just wanted to eat
and shop and the other one if you wanted to do the rides. They gave you a lanyard to put your ticket in and a cast member would check your ticket before you got on the ride.
Wow Florida Disney needs to update now.
Yulp🙃
@@Spokesmayne to bad they’re not going to be painting the castle back to the original. I really miss that old castle look!
Well Disney in Tokyo is owned by a different company they just license the characters and get help from the imagineers
Yea that’ll happen…if Disney ever sells Disney world to OLC…
The diffrence is Toyko Disney has very few good rides and have incredibly long wait times
Tokyo Disney Sea is also great!! Also their mall has a toon town like shopping area where you can dine and buy merch, but just the design itself is very fun to look at. I’m glad you had fun!
Another reason to add to my list of why I want to go to Japan
I’ve been to tokyo disneyland before and i’ve never went on those rides before. Honestly tokyo disneyland is absolutely amazing
One of my regrets is that when I visited Japan, I didn't go to disney, I went to Hakone instead.
That would be a regret of mine too but all of Japan is amazing
Omg same, it was raining and cloudy in Hakone since there was a typhoon when we went (just a week ago) and we couldn’t see where mt Fuji was. It sucked tbh
OMG. I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO GO TO JAPAN. NOW I HAVE MORE OF A REASON TO GO ❤❤
Yes you do!
@@Spokesmayne Yesss!!
I want to go there as well but i am a Muslim and there are not many Halal things there so i cant. I hope they get more halal restaurants
@@sir.games7668yeah… no. Keep that crap out of theme parks. And drop that barbaric so-called religion called Islam you follow!!!!
@@sir.games7668Islam is growing over there it’s the fastest growing religion in japan. I’m muslim and I recently went just over a week ago. If you can’t find halal food, you can always try the shrimp burger in Japan (I personally like the garlic shrimp burger). Or you can have sashimi or sushi. There are a couple of halal restaurants not too many of course but quite a few I recommend researching different halal restaurants. I didn’t research I just survived on McDonald’s cause I was with a cruise so I just thought I was gonna survive on soda and McDonald’s 😅
I’d love to go there but never possible it’s okay I enjoy watching everyone else have fun when they are there thanks for sharing ❤
This is one of the reasons i would love to go to japan someday
New thing on bucket list!
Experience of a lifetime 💯
I’d definitely go when i get a passport
Now Tokyo Disneyland is known to have the last and best Splash Mountain in existence
Japan actually cares about their customer experience, not just money.
Profits are king in America. Money rules and nothing else counts.
Went to Japan for three years, Im thinking about going back real hard now.
Honestly we need that food here in the American parks!! Or even just the cute packaging!!
I want it all 🤤
I huge factor is Japanese truth in packaging laws where food must look like the pictures of the food. From McDonald’s to Starbucks, too food has to look like it’s picture
Believe sea of dreams was my most favorite thing of all time ever hands down!!! I love it with all my being and I was completely caught off guard and blown away when I first saw it when we went in February. I don’t ever hear a whole lot of people talk about it though.
I would love to see every Disney park in the world that would be a blast. Thank you for posting this cool video.😎👍
Disney is cutting costs rapidly, but the Japanese parks aren’t completely owned by Disney so they make their own decisions.👍
Also I’m pretty sure the Japanese parks are managed by something called “the Oriental land company”. Not sure though, it’s been a while since I’ve watched Defunctland.
Stop giving me more reasons to learn Japanese and move to Japan 😭😭😭😭😭

That's gonna be on my list of places to go😍
Just been this past week and the colour parade for the 40th anniversary was amazing! That song has been running on loop in my head for days too. Also the light show at Disneysea is PHENOMENAL
Me watching this video from Walt Disney World in Florida: 😮
I still remember going as a little kid and having those alien mochi. I even have the little alien container from about 2015 when I went most recently. I think they changed it to a spaceship a while after.
Cooooool
I remember going there was I was 12 in 2015, too, and I bought a Sulley keychain and the Mickey Mouse popcorn bucket for my cousin
I was lucky enough this summer to be able to go to Tokyo Disneyland, and it is so much better than the US, the rides aren’t as wild and a bit different, but they’re still extremely fun, the lines are like 15-25 mins long maximum on a ride that would normally be 3 hours at Disneyland, and the food and little details are amazing, the popcorn buckets were really cool as well!
THIS PLACE is truly where dreams come true........ the attention to detail is insane in what I just saw, and im not even there to see it myself. Man, I hope I have enough money to do this one day
I’ve been and it’s 10x better than any other place
🙃
This is the point where we remember that Tokyo Disneyland isn’t owned by the Walt Disney corporation rather a separate entity entirely so most of these things so nice because the company that owns it has more resources dedicated specifically to these parks.
If they fail, it's not just red ink on a balance sheet. It's potentially the end of their company. Hence the going harder. You can see a similar approach at Universal Studios Singapore which is similarly owned as a franchise rather than directly by Universal, and winds up being a "Best Hits compilation" cheaper than any other Universal Studios park.
Disneyland Tokyo: We love all the classics! We will update them with new tech.
Disneyworld: We are going to increase the price, rebrand everything everyone loves.
Proposal: Disney HQ should let Oriental Land Company do a reverse takeover of their theme parks division. God knows they're in trouble and need a new direction right now.
That would be admitting they have been making mistakes. Won't happen.
"So whats the budget?"
"What is B U D G E T?"
i loved the pirates of the Caribbean ride. the animatronics were almost realistic. I agree with the food in Disneyland Tokyo, they are delicious! we watched the parade and had to look for a place to sit down as people started early, placing picnic mats on the side of the parade route as early as 4pm when the parade was scheduled around 6:30 iirc. we went there in early spring and the wind was so cold, I felt I was freezing while waiting for the parade to start 😂
God willing I’d like to go there one day. Thanks for the video.
The food is also affordable as well. Nothing is overpriced and fairly priced. Compare to disneyland. Its like 3x more expensive over there.
Wow this looks so cool! I only knew about the Beauty and the Beast thing through TPMvids
Omfg. Disney Japan has been on my bucket list my whole life because they are so amazing. The Alice In Wonderland café is about to make me cry it is so beautiful and I love Alice In Wonderland more than anything! ❤️
As someone who had their birthday there, I totally recommend :)

Thank you, may God bless you all and everyone. ❤
I was too short to see the tokyo disney sea night parade💀💀
(Believe Sea Of Dreams)
Wait but everyone’s sitting 🤔
Everyone was standing up when I was there only disneyland was sitting
Same I was 7 last time I went. 😢
Yes DisneySEA is very crowded around the lagoon which is looking down. Last time I went, could never get a good spot to view the shows. The seasonal shows are the worst because there are people that camp out all day just to get spots.
FYI: The ticket is also way cheaper than Disneyland in the US!
I would absolutely love to go someday. Bucket list.
OLC takes great pride in their parks and it shows in every aspect

The Baymax ride is a Zamperla Demolition Derby. There's one in each Disney park.
I find it interesting how every single Disney blog focuses on the food for some reason.
