I am a first generation Nakba survivor. My father was 16 years old in 1948 He witnessed his house being robbed and his family's cow heard getting shot. He got separated from my grandfather and his siblings until they reunited again in Jordan. He, with his young cousins, their Jewish neighbors and 100.000 more people marched and crossed the river Jordan. My mother's father and mother are from the city of Akka, my grandmother was pregnant with my uncle as they fled to Syria. I am named after a city in Palestine where a massacre committed by Israel took place in 2002 (can you guess the city?). I have been drowning and suffocating in despair ever since my husband and I moved to Germany, unable to speak about my true identity here. Thank you, everyone around the world supporting Palestine, thank you for your courage and humanity. I am not staying silent anymore.

My dear, don't misunderstand what I'm saying, please, and especially do not make yourself feel oppressed, because this hinders normal life and increases negative feelings. As for Yemen, there are still Jews and they now live in peace as they did in the past.
But if your grandfather was exposed to this situation, perhaps or most likely because he was considered, when he left Yemen and went to the Zionists, to be a traitor to the homeland and went to a land from which his people were deceptively and forcibly displaced.
In my country, for example, on the Sabbath, my mother her brothers and her sisters would go to turn off or turn on the lights in the homes of the Jewish brothers and do some tasks that they could not do on the Sabbath. (This is evidence of peaceful coexistence, love and protection by our peoples)
In addition, I would pray and send wishes to the stars (this is what we did when we were kids), pray and make wishes for my mother's Jewish friend who my mother always talked about when we slept outside in the summer, we were looking at the sky and hoping that you could meet my mother. (This is evidence of our sadness over the separation and what the politicians and gangs have caused).
