- "How much does this guy weigh?" WWE aren't afraid of trying new things. Sometimes they are great, sometimes they suck. But why they would do the bad ones a second time makes no sense. These are 10 flops WWE should never have tried again.

In another universe, the Gobbledy Gooker broke Undertaker's streak.
And in another universe, Taker broke brock lesnar's streak
Dork fish huh?
In another universe the gobbledy gooker HAD the streak
Rogan Little really
Another universe, The Gobbely Gooker was The Undertaker on disguise.
I actually didn't mind Punjabi prison matches. But I totally understand it being awful live
Randy vs jinder wasnt bad at all tbh
Batista did amazing carrying Kali through their match. The finish had me legit impressed with Batista.
I saw it live it was tough to see thru the bamboo cage.
Same it was a unique stipulation but they didn't know how to actually do it that's the problem sadly
@@RJDPandayeah
You forgot that Sin Cara's doppleganger feud back in 2011-2012
It was a little better because the character allows it a little more, but yeah
I miss the Raw vs Smackdown games 😢
Ad vs raw 2011 was the best
I mean sd vs raw 2011
facts
Yes! I freaking LIVED for Smackdown VS Raw 2006!
06 and 07 were the best
I actually liked the idea of bragging rights...
I mean in the last 3 years Survivor Series has become basically Bragging Rights so yes they tried it again
Yep and it sucks more because no trophy and wwe has wasted brock appearances on non tilte matches while he was barely defending the universal title as it was.
Big Bong de la Theoden they improved it instead. They are building up by Steph and Shane doing promos on who is the better brand and they do invasions weeks before the PPV. Unlike back then, no build up and the superstars were just thrown in the match.
Ive enjoyed the last Survivor Series PPVs personally
@DejaVoodooDoll Brand Rivalry if done correctly should be like WWF vs WCW maybe not to that extent but something like that
@@carybeweary7209 you don't need a trophy for something that limited in range that happens annually, but i agree on the Lesnar point
"Any tag team whose name starts with new"...
New Day
New Age Outlaws
New World Order
2 out of 3 are good New Day and New world order
@@dmanentertament125 Found the smark
@@CobaltCruiser what!?
Dman Entertainment there all good teams
Ethan Becker the new world order wasn’t a tag team. Hall and Nash where called the outsiders.
Undertaker is billed at 6'10½". In actuality he's 6'8"
Fun fact: taker had anxiety attacks leading up to his debut because he thought the egg was for him. Taker and gobbly gooker both debuted on the same show lol
And Bob holly was billed at over 400lbs. Xpac was once billed at 350. Wwf infamously always made up these numbers and wrestlers would shrink and grow both height and weight on weekly basis.
@Legend 07 hes neverbeen 610 hes 6 8 at best physco sid is 6 7 and next to taker they look exactly the same so maybe hes 6 6 now that hes old
The only time xpac was over 300lbs was when he was in Chyna
@THE JUSTICE that's what I said
Well. The XFL one didn’t age well.
Indeed lmao
True, but sadly it probably failed again😞
wasn’t the footballs fault
@@JH-ij2nm It did fail again lol. But because the pandemic.
True, but it wasn't Vince's fault this time
Repo Man for the 2020 HOF!
If Barry Darsow were to be inducted into the WWE HOF it would most likely under the Demolition gimmick where he was the second man to have the role of Smash alongside Bill Eadie as Ax who was replaced by Brian Adams as Crush the incarnation of Demolition to be inducted would be Ax and Smash (Darsows version)
I can't wait for 10 years from now for us to have "The New New Day!"
New New Day Rocks. New New Day Rocks.
It would sound like they are having mini strokes when they start that chant, lol.
Edit: LOL, I paused the video, made this comment, then saw Simon mention "The New New Day" haha
I hope Vince goes to XFL next year and we (hopefully) hand the keys to triple h
The man is stubborn that'll never happen unless he feels he has no choice. Good luck with that.
A guy can dream
@Glaceon Waifu Considering the ratings have dropped to record lows and we even had people WALK OUT of PPVs because they hated Roman winning that much. I don't think Triple H can do much worse. Funny enough, WWE did exactly what you described in 1996. It became the Attitude Era.
Im still not convinced triple H has what it takes to run wwe remember this is the same guy who put himself over sting at wrestlemania
Shane should take over Vince, not HHH
The "New" tag team didn't actually start with the Rockers. It started with the "New Foundation" consisting of Jim Neidhardt and Owen Hart. And although they didn't label them "new" one could say the same think happened with the Crush/Smash iteration of Demolition and the Tanaka/Sato version of the Orient Express.
With that being said, I thought the "New" Blackjacks were a decent enough team. Perhaps if they had a different name, they might have fared better. Then again, if the New Blackjacks took off, we likely wouldn't have gotten the far superior team in the APA.
The New Rockers were meant to be a rib on the original team as Janetty and Cassidy were turning up their antics to 11, which was designed to get the fans to dislike them. Unfortunately, the fans didn't really care one way or another.
Finally, the "New" Midnight Express was just a bad idea all the way around, and probably contributed to Cornette's disdain for everything WWF/E
New age outlaws? Like my favourite tag team.
The gobbledy gookers son is on WWE now. (Bray's American Buzzard thing)
You mean..... Bird Raptor!
Mercy
as someone who watched them only from home, I fucking loved the Punjabi Prison matches. They were fun with the exception of Randy vs. Jinder. And I loved that one moment where Batista jumped from one cage to another. Fucking epic.
He's called "The New" Daniel Bryan because that's the way the stereotypical, overbearing, recently converted vegan/conservationist hipsters refer to themselves. "That was the old me! This is the NEW me, and my New morals!"
Dig?
Hey, thanks for sharing, buddy.
@@HarmlessChildren Hey man, the professionals keep acting like they have no idea why they call him that when it seems painfully obvious to me, so I figured I'd drop a comment... Cause you know, that's what they're for.
Mitchell Holcomb I don't even understand why the vegan thing is brought up way more now that he's a heel.
'Look at these damn vegans trying to save animal lives and the planet... how dare they'
@@JuergenWuergen904 Because the WWE is based on the personal views and opinions of the McMahon family. Linda McMahon was on Trump's campaign team. That family and the company itself are historically MASSIVELY conservative /republican. So, to people like Vince and his sort, vegans are conservationists really are the bad guys, and they don't understand how you don't see it that way.
Remember, in a production that is meant to stimulate real sports, Vince only JUST NOW allowed a black man to be his champ...when he himself had the power to do so at any point in history ever... Think about that
Yep Daniel Bryan is the intentional exception to the rule and to me is half satirising hipsters, half satirising the 'New' wrestling trope. It all works PERFECTLY.
Actually, I did use the network to rewatch Blindfolded Roberts vs Blindfolded Martel 😂😂
Justin S Naw ye didnae.
Goobledy Gooker was brought back at least twice. once during the Wrestlemania Gimmick Battle Royal, and another for a nostalgia segment.
Daniel Bryan is literally CJ Parker (Juice Robinson) rehashed.. but better at it, so it's very much being re-used
Except Bryan is doing it with Veganism. Its more the Straight Edge Society thing from 2009.
"The New"Age Outlaws worked too.
The huge mistake baron Corbin as gm of raw
Kurt angle losing to baron Corbin in his farewell match
Corbin as GM did exactly what it was suppose to. Make us miss Angle, make Corbin get massive heat, and create a strong sense of heels with so many injuries
@@King-Revel22 but raw was unwatchable during that time. And ratings were suffering.
@@mmm_caca6988 Ratings were suffering from multiple things. Not just Corbin as GM.
Oh Simon, what about THE NEW Age Outlaws? THE NEW Day? ..... sorry, could not resist.
Was gonna say the exact same thing. Great minds think alike.
I was going to say the same. Damn you CapHowdy damn you for being quicker than me
CapHowdy YEAH. The NEW Age Outlaws were wayyyyy better then the Age Outlaws and the New Day sucked when it was just the Day.
@@omegaman6193 I know man. Back then Road Dogg could only afford one "G".
There should be a Ten reasons why Simon Miller is awesome. Why? *slaps his head and points to the camera* Here's Why!
Bragging rights could've worked if they gave the winning team championship opportunities like in WWE 12. That'd give team members a reason to work together and could push new stars
"NEW" Day Rock!
Survivor Series 2005 was the best told Raw hates Smackdown hates Raw story
I actually like bragging rights and I'm glad it's spirit still continues today. Maybe the writing be a bit better leading up to the matches, but you were guaranteed to get some rare, one off matchups.
I may be wrong, but was there a single match in Bragging Rights or Raw vs Smackdown Survivor Series history that was actually a one-off?
The matches always felt pointless. Two teams fighting to decide which brand had more talented guys not involved in storylines. Champs fighting champs to overly protected finishes meaning no titles were defended and nobody looked good.
I seriously dont remember that Kane vs his doppleganger feud at all lol. Omg. Thank god I dont.
Hearing a British fella use the word "Ain't" is "bloody" hilarious
I thought the Smackdown! vs. RAW theme worked well for Survivor Series '05 due to there actually being a reason for it rather than it being set up like "Okay, the next PPV is pitting the shows against each other so we've got to pretend we're actually different so we have a reason to hate each other".
I actually like the Punjabi prison match but that’s just me
If they simplified the rules it could be cool as hell
Have liked it myself. It was a great concept.
That kane masked kane thing is awesome. But I don't know how that great concept turned out.
The set falling on Vince was especially tasteless because something similar had happened weeks earlier in TNA, resulting in the death of one of the backstage crew.
Actually the Gobbledy Gooker was also in the Gimmick Battle Royal
Different costume though.
impostor kane = the leader of the impostor club
You seem to have forgotten Imposter Undertaker in 1994 unless of course you haven't seen him .
3:00 the anominous raw gm
New Day though??? They have new in theirs day.
They should just be called The Day, now, since they're no longer new.
Fun fact: taker had anxiety attacks leading up to his debut because he thought the egg was for him. Taker and gobbly gooker both debuted on the same show lol
New World Order, New Age Outlaws, New Day, New Foundation are all great teams
You don't think the new Bray Wyatt thing was taken from the gobbely guckers head? I do!!!
I fucking hope
Vince is the type of dude to put in his will "use my real actual death as a comedy storyline and you can put all my money into it"
renee young must have read the susan st james book of commentary
The bragging rights for me was actually okay. It made my childhood the best.
Well the "NEW" World Order worked pretty damn well for WCW lol
WhatCulture still thinks wrestling is real!
“We just mentioned Kane, so let’s go All In with that...”
(Simon Millar to AEW confirmed!)
ahh, Summerslam '94. Undertaker vs Undertaker, the infamous "Mirror Match" as it was touted.
We now have the New New Day with Kevin Owens replacing Big E after the Superstar Shake-up. It's the end of the world!
The problem with WWE putting the Undertaker in matches with guys bigger than him was the guys they chose. The guys chosen, Giant Gonzales and Great Khali, were big but couldn't wrestle or really even move in the ring.
Electrified groin attacks? I suggested that as a finisher for Ric Flair at lunch in middle school in 95. They stole my idea for the dirtiest finisher ever!
2:59 "Anominous raw GM"
Brock is definitely good at football. He walked on to a field and was the last cut of an NFL team despite being injured.
Pretty sure he was cut for being to aggressive as well 😂
@@BrndnNZT48 Roids man. 🤣
Lol @ the XFL reference. It was doing quite well until 'Rona ended the season 4 games on
If Simon tried to sell me an invisible umbrella during a thunderstorm I'd probably buy it lol
You say they haven’t done the Gobbledy Gooker again, but here we are with a mysterious box that seems to be hatching a bird thing...
Have I ever told you the definition of insanity?
1. A doppleganger feud they also did it with Sin Cara, except now the guy behind the mask is the one that got unmasked which was Hunico before
You act like there was no payoff, but the episode of Kate and Allie where Jane Curtin got hit with a steel chair made it all worthwhile.
The NEW Age Outlaws were the best thing in WWE with New added.
Ron Foster were they ever just the Age Outlaws? Because I’m pretty sure New was never added and they were the New Age Outlaws from the start.
Ron Foster new day also
The New Daniel Bryan.
Edit: didn’t finish the video before I typed lol my B bebe
It’s not just about having “New” in the name. It’s about literally being the new version of something that was once popular. There wasn’t a tag team called The Age Outlaws or The Day that was successful prior to The New Age Outlaws or The New Day.
@@HorrorMetalDnD Really? Are you trying to tell me that The Day was never a tag team in the late 80's to mid 90's???
I've used the network to re-watch that Jake the Snake blindfold match... :(
The worst one is the "Anonymous raw GM"... That had huge potential. I had the same taste in my mouth after season 8 of GOT...
We did see the Gobbledy Gooker more than once, Survivor Series where he broke from the egg and the Gimmick Battle Royal at WM X7!
Correction. The Gobbledy Gooker appeared in the gimmick Battle Royal. That makes twice. And that means again. Boom.
Spot on.
Same old what culture not doing the research.
In an alternate Universe, AJ Styles fought the Gobbledygooker in a Barnyard Match
Well, they did do another Blindfold Match as late as 2020; Dexter Lumis vs Cameron Grimes, also played up for laughs.
The Raw v. Smackdown thing has never seemed to take off.
They should have kept "Bragging Rights" for a way to push new talent from each brand and see if any were ready for main events.
I was there at Battleground 2017... It was impossible to look through the bamboo cage.
Still tried to make my "Fling the Singh" a thing
Forgot the Sin Cara doppelgänger storyline with Mystico and Hunico which then had negro y azul
You know that Hunicos old partner before he became Sin Cara is now Tanga Loa of the Guerillas Of Destiny lol. Tragically misused in WWE but better un NJPW.
I actually love the Raw vs. Smackdown fights if done right. One instance is the one where Shawn Michaels is the leader of Raw, and Batista is the leader of Smackdown
4.55 kane😎
What about the new age outlaws
I have a GREAT idea for a money in the bank storyline, whoever wins this year, have them keep the briefcase for the entire year, have them attempt to cash in from time to time to let the fans know whoever has it is a threat, BUT do not let them actually cash in, have them surpass the longest time to have the case which currently is edge, have them pass the 9-10 month mark and then have a timer, remind fans and the person who holds the case know that times running out, have them attempt to cash in more often and have them stress out about the one year to cash in is closing, I garauntee u whoever holds the briefcase wheither they cash in at the very last minute and win OR lose, or if they never cash in within a year, they'll get over
I'm down for something new like that.
Gobbledy gooker was around a while before they canned him. He was there more than once. Also he appeared at Wrestlemania X-Seven.
3:00 "anomynous" 🤣🤣🤣
What about the "new" age outlaws and "new" day?
1:57 The Blindfold Match between Roberts and Martel was ripped off the Prince Of Darkness match between Jimmy Garvin and Kevin Sullivan in Jim Crockett Promotions at the 1988 Crockett Cup.
Although I haven't seen it I heard about it when someone mentioned it to me in 1990 .
>_> Why would Gory Guerrero be ashamed of his son’s use at Survivor Series? No one ever said pro wrestling was a constant stream of quality content. I doubt his entire career was filled with nothing but classic moments, legendary as he may be.
The new day?
No mention of Santino Marella having a blindfold for the cobra? Sickening.
I'd like to digress... New Age Outlaws are amazing 😂😂😂
"Looking forward to seeing the New New Day, which will truly be the end of the world."
You just had to say it 🤦🏾♂️
Hey! I enjoyed the blindfold matches
At first I thought that bragging rights was an elimination match, and I was heavily disappointed
Honourable mention:
Sin Cara...
JK, I love him. Do it again!
The New age Outlaws were amazing actually Simon my favourite Tag Team of all time
Gobbledygooker showed up in the Wrestlemania X7 Gimmick Battle Royal. So he did show up twice.
1:43 Until Survivor Series 2019 PPV 😂😂😂
love blindfolding matches, very interesting and i love the punjabi prison matches as well.
Welcome back Simon
4:00 what about the new age outlaws?
The fact they forgot the NEW day when the point about tag teams named new was a bad idea was complete bollocks
1st “New” tag team was the New Foundation Owen and Neidhart before Koko joined Owen and they got called High Energy
I like that paper raincoat line.
Can't wait for The New, New Day. 😂😂😂
Man if there is something I really miss is Bragging Rights.. dude that really felt like a brand war.. and yes now we have that in survivor series but it doesn't feel at all the same way..
remember when The Shield "killed off" Vince and they never followed up on it? he just showed up back on tv months later with no explaination
When was this...i dont think it was the shield..wasnt this in 07?
NXT did the blindfold match quite well. Played for laughs, Cameron Grimes and Dexter Lumis was very entertaining.
After writing 3 WWE video games (SVR 2009,2010,2011), I interviewed for a creative team spot. When I met her at WWE HQ, Stephanie asked me to come up with a solution for the Raw Anonymous GM.
My idea was for Zack Ryder to enlist some hacker fans to hack the laptop and start pushing him/burying Cena - leading to a feud between the two.
I didn’t get the job.
Damn Simon why u gotta do the xfl like that 😠🏈 I'm so hyped for xfl 2020! ...... Even if it flops again
