This is what I love about makeup. It’s so personal and creative depending on the person and what makes them feel beautiful. I love watching different videos and trends even though I don’t think certain makeup looks would work for my face or taste. Makeup in the end should always be fun!

It's funny, because I used to put my makeup on with my fingers! I am 70 now, and I suppose, that back in the day, a lot of girls did the same. Brush and sponge application came out a lot later. Loved the video!😄

I've been applying my foundation with my hands since you were a baby!!🤭I have purchased so many foundation brushes and sponges, but I always go back to using my hands.... because it looks smoother on my skin. Obviously many people use brushes and sponges beautifully, and they work for them. But for me, I'll stick to using my hands!!

@@angelawatkins2637 YES! If I use a sponge, I wash it right after using and let it air dry. (I have a stand for it from Shop Miss A.) I have a suppressed immune system, so I take germs very seriously. I am always surprised to see influencers using dirty sponges and brushes!

I do use my hands BUT i generally use a light to medium coverage foundation or tint. I prefer it honestly.
I am 50 and when we started doing makeup in the 80s we only used our hands, it warm up the foundation, it perfect
That’s how I learned growing up and watching my mom. But now I still put it on with my fingers but smooth out with a blender

Yes I use my hands every time I put foundation on and smooth it with a sponge or large brush. I always get compliments on my skin. I don’t usually use that much but definitely use less of my foundation when I use my hands.

If I put this on my 43 year old face, I would for sure look way older! The older I get I find the less is more approach is what works for me. I used to be a full coverage kind of girl but it just doesn’t work for my more mature, dry skin type, Sadly, too much foundation, concealer and powder really settles into every fine line and accentuates them. Oh to have 20year old skin back lol. I always love seeing others try different techniques though and it turned out great on you.❤

As soon as I seen the effect of that urban decay powder I went looking for it, it’s such a bummer that ulta and Sephora don’t carry it!! I still have a peach powder that’s probably expired but I’ll never let it go lol

Putting foundation on with your hands is old school (I’m old 😂) when I attended makeup college for movies, sometimes we’d use that technique. The heat from your hands helps to blend the product.

I use to always use my hands for my foundation. The only makeup sponges were those tiny wedge looking ones and the only brushes you could get were the ones that came with blush.

My favorite makeup! I’ve never had makeup perfectly match my skin until Seint and the cream is amazing!!

I do foundation under my brows and powder between and at the end because I have 70's brows one thin line is all I have,that helps the product stay and look like hair.

I am 48 but when I was in my 20's back in the day , I did exactly that .. rubbed foundation with my hands and concealer went on my lips not my under eyes...lol. I need to try it with my hands again.. I have not done it in forever! It did look good back in the day!

I used different tools based on the foundation. The iconic L’Oréal foundation I use a brush. It just applies better but with Physicians foundation (the one with the doe foot) I apply with my hands like a moisturizer. I can’t stand the applicator on that one but it just has the consistency that works better with hands. It looks like skin. *****Love your videos girl! Thank you.***** ❤❤❤🎉❤🎉

I give props to all the women out there who can do makeup so well and have the patience for it. I personally don't have the technique or patience for it how I used to when I was in my early 20s. Now Im in my late 30s and I hardly wear any makeup at all. I barely wanna do my eyebrows because they never match lol. Just no patience over here at all whatsoever. I need some microblading.
When I was a teenager I used my fingers to blend out everything!! Even eyeshadow. Lol but that was about 30 years ago

Such a fun video! I have seen her tik tok and she is the cutest girl, but I cringe at the amount of foundation, but only because I think of the money part of how much it most cost to use that amount of foundation. Haha! And I grew up watching my mother and so many others apply foundation with their hands. It is how I learned to do my make up and have only been using a beauty sponge or brushes for maybe the last 10 years or so. And on a rare occasion I still will do it, but it feels weird to me now. But, I think the warmth of your hands somehow helps in application of foundation.
So for me on a day to day basis (especially with 4 homeschool kids and a business we own) I keep everything simple so I blend real quick with my fingers but I use bare minimum I’m just covering up my rosacea/ redness and that’s it
I use my fingers with the NARS foundation because it’s recommended that way from what they have on their site and I love it, also it feels like it works quicker lolp

I agree whatever makes you feel good about yourself do it ! I have tons of texture and huge pores and the thicker the Foundation base for me personally just enhances it but I do prefer full coverage Foundation and Concealer, just maybe not ten pumps I could see Nars because those aren’t even half a pump as a normal pump I don’t do ten pumps but I do use maybe five of my Nars Long Wear Radiant Foundation if I’m going for the most perfected look . Some Foundations give like a lot in one pump thinking of my Sephora Best Skin Ever those are generous pumps , but do whatever makes you feel good if it’s full coverage or if it’s light coverage there’s no right or wrong imo when it comes to individual performances it’s what you like so do what makes you happy and feel confident in your skin .
I don't use my hands, but I do use concealer first, then I cream bronze.

I did enjoy this video. I do agree this would be good for photos. My family would call her high maintenance because of the large amount of makeup she uses.
I generally use lighter coverage foundations so I use my hands to blend it in to start and then finish with a sponge to blend it out. I would never do this much product. Just not my preference. I'm not entirely convinced Meredith really does this method, as she does multiple cuts to her videos when blending. There are definitely times where it looks like she's removed at least some product. But, it was fun to watch you try it out. I was impressed with how you got it to look.

Some people genuinely love make up she knows she's beautiful without it but some people just love make up. You don't necessarily need it but it's fun. I wish people knew the difference but she is beautiful with and without it 💜

For one thing our hands were the only tool for years, I never even saw a blending brush or sponge until I was in my early 40’s . I always used my hands and it was fine and most everyone I knew used their hands. Most face tints require hands , so I’m not understanding the difference I guess.

Before beauty blenders/sponges became popular I always used/use my hands to apply foundation. I’ll use a blender/brush here and there though:)
