One thing I like about Amapiano is that it is self explanatory. The word Amapiano does not exist in any of the nearly 600 Nigerian languages and Nigerians don't even understand the lyrics. It tells you exactly where it comes from. I'm aware that some Nigerians are trying to claiming for their own. It's like me claiming that Chinese music and mandarin are originally from SA. The delulu is on another level 😂. Afrobeats is actually easier to steal because the name is inclusive and the the lyrics are in English 😂. But because South Africans are not thieves we credit Nigerians for it and we don't even try to emulate it
Amapiano is produced for DJs by DJs. so we need 1 minute in the beginning to mix it and 1 minute to mix it out. If you don't add that mixing time, we will avoid playing it in clubs.

No such thing as Nigerian Amapiano. No one calls Unlce Waffles music Swaziland Amapiano, or ShaSha's music Zimbabwean Amapiano. Why can't you lot ever just enjoy something great without trying to include youselves? Ampiano is South African, period. And it's not just a music style it's an entire cultural and music scene which Nigerians have zero connection to. What the Nigerian artists are making is Afrobeats/Afropop fusion, not Amapiano, and no doubt they are killing it but there is no comparison with Amapiano and can never be. I rest my case.
