- This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the next 10 days 03/07/2024.
After a few more days of wet and relatively cool weather, a change in our wind direction means temperatures will rise back to average for July. Whilst there may be some drier spells, there will also be further wet weather to come too.
Bringing you this weekend’s weather forecast is Alex Burkill.

Our seasons are winter spring autumn 🍂 autumn 🍂
I’d go two season, Climate change suppose to have made our summers warmer and dry, what’s happened it seems to mess the jet stream basically given us no summers or Winters, Not seen snow in years, all hardly see frost either in Norfolk…we all doomed lol
Winter, spring, autumn autumn, Indian summer 😂
Nah just autumn & winter always.
And then a sprinkling of summer for a few days 😭
Many thanks Alex, not the best of 10 Day Trends, but I’m not sure it could be worse! Still, it’s not anyone’s fault and no one can change it, so it’s up to us all to make the best of it. It’s a shame it’s Wimbledon at the same time, but…! Thanks again Alex and to all the Met. Take care everyone 😊
Summer is now restricted to just the 1 day in June , looking forward to next year 🌞
Ikr lol how majorly different and impactful lol 😂
So it has pretty much rained for an entire year?
Summer seems like its 3 or 4 day blips in between the continuous misery.
The Met Office doesn’t seem to be saying much about this. I live in the North East of England and take a keen interest in the weather and can say with a fair degree of confidence that with exception of the odd spell of migratory high pressure systems, it’s been well over 12 months now since we have seen sustained and repetitive high pressures centred over North East England at least. Utterly depressing
Exactly
I would give anything to leave this depressing country
Me too
Same
Let's build an ark
Move to the SE coast - we've had loads of lovely weather here through spring and summer (albeit slightly below average temps and not quite as settled overall as usual) 😁
Another washout summer ....even worse than last year ....and that was bad. Better forget about summer altogether ....was wearing a jersey today, first week in July .... average temperature supposed to be 24 degrees ......
Hmm…pretty miserable, cool temp, windy, rain, grey.. Summer UK ‘24 ☹️👎🏼
As usual, by the time the UK weather sorts itself out…it’s autumn
That's what I always say. Same thing happend last year
Same as last year😢
So last week was summer, lots of talk on weather forums it’s going to get worse come end July and August looking long term, how the hell can it get worse …One of the most depressing 12 months of weather I’ve seen …Climate change completely ruining our weather pattern.
Thank you. The pants summer continues…….
Thank you, Alex
A little disappointing! There's an understatement.
Same Summer as last year. Autumn started early as July into August. Then a wet Autumn followed by a very wet Winter
I’ve basically accepted that summer isn’t going to happen this year. How depressing.
Still nearly 2 months of summer to go, still plenty of time yet!
Jet stream we were told has been edging further and further north! No it clearly isn’t the dam thing has been moving further south winter - Summer
Jet steam south of the uk again still everywhere else has summer as normal
@@Gooner184 yeah but this forecast takes us to next weekend, which is mid July, so really it’s 1.5 months at best
We may get an Indian summer at the back end of August and September. I cant understand why the met office never talk about this they just focus on the doom and gloom
Is he being ironic (sardonic?) when he says' little disappointing'
The endless weeks of cloud and temperatures 'peeking at 14/15C and night lows of 10C - and now coupled with the wind in last few days has cooled the house right down. Even though I'm wearing a fleece indoors I've still contemplated switching heating on today - which I've just done. I'm a householder 40 years now and I can't recall ever had to think about that in July. Locally I'm convinced this stacking up surely to be one of the top coolest summer of this and the last century - if not the worst.
It looks like we are going to get no summer again this year thats two years without and temperatures where i am in the UK are the same as they were in winter.
I'm starting to except summer has gone and will probably return back end of August to sep. Let's hope for a late Indian summer
Where are all the insects?
They must all be on holiday down here in Cornwall
Slightly warmer grim weather. How depressing
Oh dear. Our insects have suffered badly with out wet cool spring, now a wet cold mid summer is going to exhasperate that position. 😢 Hard to get any cheer from the 10 day trend. Thanks for trying to sound positive though 😂
Dont need rain need sun it is ment tobe summer
Tell that to to the Jet stream
Thanks, Alex. Pretty bleak outlook into July.
I live in west central Scotland and I'm currently building a small workshop in my garden. All I need is a three-day window where confidence is high that there will be no rain (and ambient temp is >5 degC), so that I can finish the roof. Literally months have gone by where ambient temp is OK but no chance of even a brief window of dry weather. I don't know how professional builders manage in this.
Are we currently experiencing part of a longer-term trend or cycle? I can remember not so long ago reflecting on periods during the Summer where we hadn't had rain for 6-7 weeks! Maybe _that_ was the unusual weather!
Sunshine,and,showers,cool,that's,all,need,said
2024 the year without a summer
And 2023 so don’t be surprised if 2025 is the same then eh
Cooler, Darker, Wetter, Windier!! This is going to be a year without summer I fear. British history is dotted with this occassional blighting of our summer, which is usuall caused by some major volcanic action, in this case, I dont see any. Must be that elephant in the room, Climate Change. In west Wales ther has been something like three decent days without the atlantic influence which could be called summer. Any hope of in the medium or long term for Warmer, Brighter, Drier and Less Windy and settled weather for west Wales? (we didnt really get the recent warm spell, save arguably one day) BTW Cardiff is not really representative for much of Wales as it is closer to Bristol and England than Aberystwyth for instance.
Nah not having it there is as many scientists who disagree but we seldom get to hear their views
Planet cools and heats naturally
Current conditions may well be natural variation in weather. But the proportion of scientists that do not accept the current global warming paradigm is very small @Pablo-xt2xm
@@machandler70 If they offer an alternative to the climate change narrative they will be vilified by the media and their piers
@@machandler70 Then how come the average temperature in England has hardly risen if at all in my lifetime, surely if C02 rising causes warming why does it not get warmer year on year, the other week they said it had been the hottest day somewhere since 1921 that means it was very nearly as hot over a hundred years ago, Britain once had a subtropical climate why? we have also been covered in ice, all these things have happened in the past, again why? we had no bearing on it why should now be any different, how do you know for certain we are not just on an upward trend that could last a hundred years or more and after that it could start cooling again just like it did BEFORE man even existed.
I've counted 9 nice days in West Wales where I live in the past 13 months. 9. Days.
Are we seeing LA Nina this winter ?
Both the US NOAA, and the UK Met Office are currently predicting La Nina conditions during this coming UK winter.
@@Tim_Small when would you know for certain that the change from el nino has happened?
@@MRDavidmccomb The US NOAA publishes it's "ENSO: Recent Evolution,
Current Status and Predictions" on the second of every month. Probably best to take a look at that. The summary is on the last page. The equivalent Met Office web page is "El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) region sea surface temperature forecasts".
wish the jet stream would do one so utterly boring
last week in leicester was 30 degrees and now is 18 degrees
What do we think will be the effect on the European ski season please?
i live in leicester
So the end of June was summer then so far as There’s no major signs of any drier weather returning in the next 10 days or so.
Why every July it gets cold!
Great! Warmer but guess what? More rain!
That's the general forecast for the UK for at least the next few decades at the moment...
@@Tim_Small roll on the next ice age 👍
@@iansingleton Met Office: "The next ice age isn't expected to happen for at least another 50,000 years, according to long-term projections of the Earth's orbit.".
@@Tim_Small I reckon the folk that make those predictions don't live in Yorkshire!
Hi handsome weather man ♂️😁❤
Thanks very much Alex, I have no complaints with the weather, it certainly is not the typical or average summer weather but at least we are alive. And thankfully some super volcano has not ended us all.
It is the climate trying very hard to balance itself out after us humans have caused the imbalance. We were told / warned about this in 1970's, 1980's, 1990's, 2000's, etc. We now have to change with the climate and prepare for the worst and do not complain - do not moan - certainly do not act surprised about it. This is urgent. Our planet is dying. And nature bites back, very hard indeed. Thank you from Dublin😎👍
british summer is skibidi feet
Winter is coming
You need to get back to showing weather charts for days 5 to 10.
Warm rain, summers here woohoo
Just like last summer, garbage
Yippee rain 🌧 😊
Spoiler alert: ‘Officially the worst summer on record’ .. I’ll wait.
Oh this global warming
Instead of saying above and below average put numbers on it.
On our current trajectory with global warming we will have a climate similar to northern Spain by 2050. At least I can expect an actual summer in my late 60’s
Something a bit warmer on the way.
More rubbish "summer" weather yet again...sick to death of it. ; ((
