No defense and all offense leads to that. Honestly, the 2015 Saints were the worst I've seen under Sean Payton (thus no 2012) because of the defense and the times when the offense died (the game before this, we were anemic)

This is one of the best panther games I’ve attended in New Orleans over the years. Nothing like going into that cesspool coming out with a win.

So the Panthers had A genius at Linebacker (Luke Kuechly), Great run stopper/ pass rusher (Kawaan Short), Underrated safety (Kurt Coleman), Bulldozer at running back (Johnathan Stewart), Speedster (Ted Ginn, Jr), badass tight end that always got open and made great catches (Greg Olsen), Superman (Cam Newton), one of the best cornerbacks in the league at the time (Josh Norman), Hard hitting linebacker (Thomas Davis, Sr.) and brilliant coach (Ron Rivera). Now that's a super team.
Top 5 Center Ryan Kalil and depth
Wasn’t much of a super team Ted ginn dropped hella passes Kurt Coleman couldn’t catch a pick to save his life and other than josh Norman the secondary was weak not to mention mike remmers being on that team at the time
Josh Norman was never at any any point one of the best corners in the league. He had one good year in 2015. Then he took the money from Washington and fell off a cliff.

Josh Norman that season literally shut down half a field and was the most feared corner to throw to that year.
Just because he wasn’t on that level some years later doesn’t mean you completely disregard just the flawless phenomenal season he had.

@@trentonmayfield1457 That’s by far the dumbest take I heard. By your logic every safety and corner is terrible cause every db dropped interceptions before, also he had 7 ints that season so him dropping a couple other ints doesn’t just erase the ones he caught and make him bad.
Also he was all pro that year so that’s how ik you didn’t pay attention. Also panthers secondary had obviously Josh Norman the best corner that year, Kurt Coleman all pro safety, tre Boston who was pretty good and got turnovers and can’t believe you forgot they had Charles peanut Tillman and courtland finnegan and benwikere. Last two are alright but the rest. Two were elite that year and two were great and turnover machines.
I agree with Ted Finn dropping balls but they still had Cam (aka Superman) they also had J stew top 5 RB that year Greg Olsen arguably the best TE that year other than gronk and had a top 5 oline other than remmers😑 even though Finn dropped balls he was still a threat to defenses and made great plays. But cam made the offense shine, also how could I forget mike Tolbert the best FB that year also.
And panthers defense had the best lb trio in kuechly, T Davis, and Shaw Thompson and had one of the best actually top 2 dt in Kawann short and had a dominant dline with Star, Charles Johnson, and Jared Allen.
They were definitely stacked with some cam magic and coach of the year Riverboat Ron. Even though they were off in the Super Bowl they still one of the best teams to ever play the game. We had everything than lost it all so quickly 🥹
I miss this cam. He played so quick and confident. He still has an arm but he lacks accuracy and awareness in the pocket now. I swear after this season I never saw nobody giving out footballs to kids anymore.
Will see a better version next season heck first year, Covid, poor weapons not easy to do well.

Highlight of Cam's career
Cam literally played for real in that game. Man do I miss this squad. It was fun though
I always forget that the Panthers came damn close to going undefeated. One close loss to Atlanta in a game they lead halfway through the 4th quarter was all that separated them from a perfect season. They also were up 31-0 on Seattle, the 2x defending NFC champions, in the divisional round before mentally checking out and allowing the Seahawks to make the final score a lot closer than the game really was. Then they absolutely smoked a really good and 13-3 Cardinals team in the NFC championship game. Other than that loss in Atlanta the Panthers scored at least 31 points in each of their last 8 games before the Super Bowl. They averaged 39 points for the 8 games and scored 40+ points in 3 of them. The Panthers sent 10 of their 22 starters to the pro bowl and had 6 players named first team all-pro. That Carolina team was really good but all I remember is Cam not diving for his fumble and walking off his post game press conference after pouting like a child. But make no mistake, Cam was the best player in football that season. He was MVP for a reason. He threw for over 3,800 yards and 35 touchdowns with only 10 interceptions. He also ran for more than 600 yards and 10 more touchdowns. He was a monster that season and was one win away from having both the greatest individual college football season and arguably the greatest individual NFL season.

@@Jordan-bj2fw Still believe it is very much possible. The Patriots won 7 games with half their defense opting out due to covid and no wide receivers/tight ends. Edelman was out the entire year. Only the running game was solid.

I remember as a panther fan being down 14-0 in the first quarter thinking “we got this no sweat.” I knew without a doubt we were coming back that’s how good we were that year.

Watching games from this season gets me a little sentimental. Those were some good times. I truly believe that the reason why Cam was so dialed in is because his FIRST child was gonna be born later that year.
Cam is the D-Rose of football. Both great flashy player that only had a couple of great season due to injuries.

As a longtime Panthers fan, I consider the 2015 season to be an anomaly since the team did almost everything right and lost only two games overall. If they had won Super Bowl 50, they probably would have been considered one of the greatest teams in NFL history. Instead, the following year was a return to a subpar reality for a team that has never had back-to-back winning seasons and hasn't fully recovered from that loss to the Broncos.
