Find it quite eerie when there's so money and effort put into places with nobody there, a very liminal space type strangeness. Hope this is a success and doesn't end up as a creepy abandoned theme park in the future
You just jealous they have the money to make this be great. Europeans are lame with your education and hard work. All you need is oil and gas money.
They don't need visitors to stay open, they're just propped up by the obscenely rich Saudis who pay millions into it, because they can, and so that it doesn't look like a Disney clone failure
its a super popular park lol this is just a coincedence
the last time i went had to wait hours for a ride
I worked at a Six Flags almost 10 years ago, and I would regularly work until the park closes. There's something very unsettling about walking through the park to my car (which was on the other side of the park) at night, hearing no music and seeing no one there. You would think you would get used to something like that after a while, but I never did.
I used to work at Disneyland Paris, they don't stop the music until long after the park is closed, honestly it's even more creepy to see Main Street totally empty but with cheery music at night.
honestly as someone who loves liminal spaces, this sounds like The Dream
work at universal studios myself. we usually leave music on at night till like all the day people are gone. BUt i remember how empty the parks where during the c
The more Dubai content I see, the more it seems this park is a beautiful representation of what you should expect. Glowing extraordinary exterior, with ultimately subpar performance.
I do not envy the poor staff having to bear that heat in those Smurf suits
I had to dress as a bloody chicken for mini club in a hotel in the Caribbean.... Nobody wanted to do it so one day I jumped in the pool and damaged beyond repair...đđđđ So I wasn't allowed to wear costume anymore đđđđđđđđ
I hope everyone is super nice to the costumed characters, the heat in those things must be inhumane. Maybe they have a cooling system, I don't know, but still, what a hard job they have.
Beautiful clean parks like this should never be this empty, it's weird, but the best time to be there.
I feel like they'd have to have some kind of cooling system, if only because it would be literally impossible for the people wearing the suits to avoid heatstroke.
Here in Virginia, which gets pretty hot and humid in the summer, I know there are definitely cooling systems inside those costumes. Also, I don't think they stay outside for a long period of time.
It's empty because it's largely quite terrible... Theming is spot in but everything else is like a kiddie ride đ
Spot on.
its like an experiment in theming to practice the rest in America, a constant work that iss never finished.
That doesn't stop Disney from drawing crowds.
@@mig4868 yeah but Disney is far beyond anything here... Far beyond... Apples and oranges etc
@@mig4868 Disney's parks in the U.S. are part of the culture -- they draw families for whom it's an obligatory part of childhood, plus loyalists. Their primary advantage is reputation, which outweighs price, crowds, ride failures, etc. A new park like DPR in a younger tourist market like Dubai doesn't benefit from that entrenched psychology.
So I'm a theme park management major - a lot of theme parks in Dubai are a bit like this because they all popped up at about the same time flooding the market and making the entire Dubai theme park market a bit mediocre in the world view. They're interesting concepts, there's just too many of them.
I can only name 5 tho and I live here
So I guess "If you build it they will come" isn't true in Dubai. LOL!
@@martina21953 I've actually been taught that it isn't really true anywhere
All the other parks also so static? Each ride seems like a dark ride with video screens and barely moving animatronics
it feels like they had too much space and didnât make use of all of it well. at disney they design into every corner everywhere so nothing feels empty but this feels weirdly baron for how much stuff there is. I wish universal would take some queues from this theming for dreamworks stuff in universal hollywood. seems so cool!
going to an empty operating theme park sounds like a dream. Must feel like Eric Cartman enjoying all the rides of his them park on his own.
The theming is amazing!! Like a mini set! But the rides themselves are kind of a letdown if you compared them to Disney and Universal. đ But I think you can really enjoy a relaxing day here since there aren't that many people. So you can enjoy all the easter eggs and details. đ
Tim, it's Ramadan at the moment, (I work/live in Middle East, Saudi & UAE) and you will find the locals are very clued up and the locals tend to come out after their Iftar. (Evening meal), in the summer it makes more sense to come out in the dark, when its just really, really hot, rather than in the day when its far hotter than you would believe. (I've seen my phone weather app says "49C feels like 59C" ).
it was not to bad this week before last bout 35 and well before Ramadan ..but also midweek đ
@@WalkWithMeTim Tim, Ramadan lasts for 4 weeks, it started on 23rd March and ends 21st April.
đ±đ±đ±
Holy crap that is hot
@@micksmithson6724 A lot of CZcamsrs make video's weeks or sometimes even months before they are released, something to keep in mind. It's not like this was made today or yesterday.
Another brilliant video Tim your a amazing person and your videos are so full of enjoyment your showing places in the world many of us could only dream of going to but through your videos we feel we are there with you , top bloke top videos canât wait for next one đ
Great park Tim especially no queues, the dream works looked fantastic x
Wow really really interesting. So vast. Thanks for taking your time to explore this theme park that I never knew existed.
Wow never seen this but fell in love with the themes and epic photo ops. Great video tim đ
đThere is so much wrong with Dubai I wouldn't [and couldn't] go - but also the whole thing just seems to lack any character!
@@davidholgate123 sad
@@StarCrusher. it have sex and beer
Iâll informed comments, they have built a city of the future and itâs fantastic
Maybe you should try London east end
@@hafeezrahman6149 Well at least Gays are welcome!
It's Ramadan at the moment so that might explain the scarcity of visitors..
Even its not ramadan it was empty.
This was filmed weeks ago before Ramadan
No the parks out there are dead all the time
@@JackDeakin98 Ok, I couldn't find a date for the video.
Creepy
Thank you for the tour, it looks so good there.
Cracking Vlog as ever Tim You're so lucky to visit a theme park without crowds. Looks amazing.
Great video Tim. Looks a great place to visit. Will put it on the visit if ever visit Dubai .
New-ish subscriber here from Florida. The theme parks here are packed! Really enjoying your channel, thanks for sharing your travels.
Hey welcome
It's Ramadan right now so people will come out after sunset and also it's very hot!
Fantastic video Tim. Thanks.
Absolutely LOVED THIS!!! Thank you so much for sharing this video and letting us experience this absolutely gorgeously stunning amusement park! đđ»â€ïžđđ»
Thank you so much!!
Another great video Tim !!
I was expecting some old neglected theme park from the title buit it looked fantastic. the themeing was all so good.
Please get a GoPro for all of the POV on rides that you can't go on. This video has been amazing. The themeing of that park is incredible.
I just went last week and it was also really empty but it was still so much fun nonetheless! Especially Dragon gliders and Max Pursuit I cannot wait to go again đ
Nice one Tim. Looks like you took another one for the team. All in the line of duty. We'll done !!!!
Honestly, that place has never been busy.. remember seeing videos from when it first opened and it still has the same amount of crowd.. there's either no interest in it or not enough people live in Dubai to support such a massive park.
Yes, the developers mis-gauged the market -- interpolating between some other videos, it seems that (a) for locals, it's too expensive, and (b) for international tourists, other Dubai attractions have higher priority.
Hi Tim. I really enjoyed your video tour today. Hope your back wa not hurting to much.
lol
We were there last November, tends to be very quiet earlier in the day, but everyone was there in the evening. We loved it though.
It was a very good travel blog today of your chili out walks around motion gate theme park dubai enjoy your holiday break to Cyprus tim and gaby / holly and Casper aswell
Great video as always Tim, just an idea would you be able to film more rides if you were to use an action camera such as a go pro
A good detail video about Dubai theme parks.
I visit this park once or twice a month. Itâs one of the best places to enjoy in Dubai, but unfortunately most people donât even know it exist. they are doing a terrible marketing strategy.
Another good video Tim looks a nice place
Thanks Tim. Love the video but like your last one in the water park in Dubai, it's not for me. But I'll keep watching đ
Hi Tim Wow the themeing is amazing. I feel it lacks soul as there is no one to give it atmosphere. Shame really it must be costly having it open and no one there. I wish we had themeing like that he in the uk . Thanks for sharing with us love to you as always Tracey đ xxxx
Very awesome sharing, my friend. Thanks so much for this content. It's so innovative.
Daam that place looks good! And the theming is perfect would like to visit
The start when you say 'its gona take me about 20 minutes...' đ that tickled me! Can't stop laughing, such a big place!
yet another great vid tim
Wow! Never knew they had a theme park here.đź
Thanks for the Tour Tim.
You bet
Your such a lovely host and the video was brill, I really enjoyed it đ„°
Thanks
I'll watch it tonight. I'm looking forward to it Tim. I'll also be in the chats too.

What a cool park, absolutely deserted but i would prefer it deserted compared to being absolutely packed. The theming was amazing, shame about the emptiness and lack of atmosphere within the dark rides though đźđ
yes so do I at least you get on every ride! more than once
Itâs not that itâs deserted but he filmed this during the month of Ramadan normally I always go itâs sooo busy you at least have to wait 15 mins in line you definitely got lucky today đ
Great video as always Tim, I visited Bollywood when I went to Dubai last year and the rides werenât the best but the theming was great and also the shows they put on was also great! âșïž
They are always like this over there when not peak times đ
Really neat thank you
Yeah, no need for fasttrack on a weekday! I've been there 3 times on weekdays and there are barely any queues, but totally agree with everything you say about the quality of the theming and some of the rides. Incidentally, most theme parks in the area are the same story on weekdays - the one time I went to Warner Bros Abu Dhabi I remember being in big immersive areas (all indoors) and there were times when I could do a whole 360 degree turn and not see another human in any direction, visitors or staff! It's a really peculiar experience if you're used to visiting theme parks in western countries!
@@dee74raz Yeah, it's very strange... I know Dubai Parks & Resorts (where Motiongate is) ran at a loss for quite a while - I think it's turning a small profit now but they've definitely cut back on staff and operations to make this happen - and I guess the weekend is much busier. But I still feel like when I've visited I should make the most of it because it surely can't last forever?!
@@dee74raz Much like everything in the middle east imported from the western world, it's all a facade. They go over the top on purpose to make themselves look more grand. It's like your broke friend still posting on social media doing things every day. Look at all the comments on this video, their tactics work.
That would be great Tim to have it almost empty, You get a chance to look at everything without waiting . I would like it. Hope you had fun đđ»
Probably not good for their financials though. A ton of money spent on theming, and no customers to pay off the that debt.
Walt Disney once said, âYou can design and create, and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality.â
Smart guy and he was right. The Disney Corporation is destroying what Mr.Disney created a long time ago. It's sad.
You did an amazing job. I don't know how you managed with all that walking and the heat on top of it.
Yep it was a bit warm lol
Lots of people are avoiding stuff in the during the day due the Ramadan fast which is a dry fast so they cannot drink water in sunlight hours. It's also meant to be a time of reflection and prayer.
Definitely disappointed it doesn't have a replica of the crazy cage ride from the film Robots đ great video and looks like your having a great time
When you walk in to the park it feels like your in Disneyland on hearing the music in the background. That Ghostbusters is a bit like the Buzz Lightyear ride in Disneyland Paris. That Dreamwork Studios looks so epic, especially the waterfall with the statues. Have you ever done the Shrek's Adventure in London?
Yes bit of a let down
Hi Tim. We were there just after it opened in 2018 . In August and it was empty to .looks like they have extended it in the Lionsgate world. The last Vegas wasn't there whe we were there.
More fun for you! Its one of my dreams to be in a empty theme park
Hello Tim,what a nice place with popular film names, the Ghostbusters one looks amazing with all the uniforms and weapons they used, all of the rides looked awesome.
The atmosphere is similar to Vinwonders Phu Quoc. a big park but quite few visitors
Brilliant video
I feel horrible thinking it but a lot of the queues looked better than the actual rides
on Planet Coaster , the PC game. I made a park almost Exactly like the dreamworks world. It was 5 doors, each one led into a fully realized version of the movie and the ride was basically a retelling of the movie. It's like someone played the game and did exactly the same thing lol
Itâs a fantastic place. I love it.
the park seems akin to a top of the range racing bicycle frame with no wheels!
Absolutely fascinating, thank you so much for sharing Tim. Glad you enjoyed most of it. đđ
Hi Tim, will catch up later, flying back from Belfast and won't be home in time, sorry
Hello Tim hope you are having a good day
Tim you should Invest in a GoPro chest mount, it straps on so any activity that involves fast movement etc can be captured
Even with that I was told no filming tho
â@@WalkWithMeTimYea Motiongate is notorious about that.
Went to dubai once.
Also during ramadan.
We had a waterpark to ourselfs for the whole day we were literaly the only visitors
I was there yesterday and I can confirm it was exactly the same. We also did Legoland Dubai next door for around an hour or so in the morning and it was even emptier, albeit it was 10am but Iâd have been surprised if there was even 100 people there.
Wow
Not for me that lol looks great, is very well done, and would be good to go in with kids. I'd probably get bored very quick though, as haven't even seen most of those films haha so wouldn't have a clue. I've been to Pepper Pig world and Poulton's park in Hampshire with friends and their kids and actually really enjoyed that haha and was very familiar with the theme tune by the end of it đ€Ł
Great video as always I think rides now days are boring when I was a kid they use to be so much fun but now day ones they seem to be less interesting and goes more slower
Uk needs a theme park like this in Kent Essex area
It has very impressive theming they could have had more mascots though.
Wow, no queues in sight! Seems really odd something like this in Dubai, I guess they are wanting to get more tourists in! Can see it being a big hit with families đ
Bet your Casper would Love some of that!! Xx
It's a lot of extravagance for rides that are arguably for children! Was looking for a good place to take the Mrs in Dubai but apart from the aesthetics, there's not much here unfortunately! Thanks for the video though!
I used to go to the park so many times itâs sad to see nobody is their
Another great vlog rip Paul ogrady
Yes KKrispy, Such a shame the sad news of the passing of Paul O Grady.
A really kind & genuine Man.
I'd love to visit a theme park that empty I hate queuing especially when in the UK at peak times it's upwards of 2 hours for a 1 minute ride
IF you stay at the Lapita Hotel, which is onsite, then access to all the parks is totally free. We stayed for two weeks and visited the parks most evenings. They are a short walk from the Lapita and Lego Lands Waterpark was a great place to spend a few days in the hot sun also ! Its such a good deal to stay at the Lapita, with free park access, that even the locals stay at the hotel JUST to get free park entry ! Cheaper to stay there than pay for tickets and drive 2 miles home !
I'm surprised they didn't let you film on the rides, they let our little ol channel film on there. It was as empty when we went as when you went, I quite enjoy that though, it's like you've hired the whole place out haha how they stay open is beyond me!
Now You See Me and Now You See Me 2 are amazing movies and The Hunger Games are some of my favourite movies â€â€
Fab video mate
Thanks
I went to Universal Studios Orlando during week 36 of 2014 and it was this empty.
loovve your videos!
Thanks
Been there in 2017, a real let down of a park.
Yes dragon glyders is a nice ride and had some funny stuff.
But the park was also this empty like seen on this video.
They should be in the red figures since the beginning I guess.
50 degree temp, sounds pretty cool says Mr. Fahrenheit
It's a damn shame that these attractions aren't in a park here in the States, as most of the IP found in in this park are from the minds of American creators.
Global village and IMG is a good representation of a popular Dubai theme park, not motiongate or any of those parks in the Dubai Parks area since those are 1hr 20m from central Dubai
love how parks in America can be full of people and still be going bankrupt while parks in Dubai can have literally no one and still be financially comfortable
Oil money turned into investment money
These parks are not financially comfortable they lose money like crazy. One of them (Bollywood Park, which is right next to this one) just permanently closed the other day. The only reason any American companies are involved in any of these parks (like Dreamworks and Sea World) is because they don't actually own them they just license their property and collect a check.
The bollywood park just closed đ
@@jeffc1347 That's actually devastating, I was supposed to go this summer with my family.
Dubai is an oversized Potemkin village. It's all illusion, hype and hubris.
It looks deserted and souless. No expense spared on the decor and it looks spotless.
Itâs really upsetting and eerie seeing no people around I thought those parks would be full of kids and parents
Thanks for the video. I would love to try it out but since I live in the states I can not drive to it without the use of a passport and a plane. Cheers!
If this was in America this would be packed!!
Or closed down. This place can't hold a candle to Disney World.
Wow that park puts all Six Flags parks to shame! Amazing theming even if some of the dark rides were rather weak. I'd visit just to see the sights.
Wow! Gorgeous park! I wish it were nearer Kansas City in the USA, where I am, because I hate travellingđ Finally something in Dubai actually looks great! But it is all built on oil money, and oil money is blood moneyđ„đđ„ Even more reason I won't actually go to this beautiful amusement parkđą Thank you for making this video, though!!đ
