A short film about a particular man's life. Sometimes our repetitive daily functions block our way of perceiving the world through a much more versatile point of view thus leaving us unaware of our nearest surroundings and our unwilling interactions with others in general.
Thank you for watching. If you liked it - feel free to show some love.
A film by Janis Jurgelis and Joshua Behrens.

I live with bipolar and for those of you who do not believe that this video does not portray bipolar, let me tell you why it perfectly conveys what it is like to have it. At first he seems like your average, everyday guy. Then it takes a turn and shows you one of the first things that is common with bipolar which is insomnia; which is either waking up in the middle of the night for no reason at all, which is what the man in the film has, or it is not being able to fall asleep at all and just laying in bed for hours not being able to fall asleep. One of the next things that you see that is associated with bipolar is drug abuse. A lot of people with bipolar abuse drugs and alcohol, which is why he is smoking weed and abuses pills. It is an outlet for people who live with this. If you look at the setting and his facial expressions, everything seems dark and gloomy. The last thing you see in the video, which seems to confuse a lot of people making them believe this is more associated with multiple personality disorder, is when it shows him being the doctor and the patient. It is trying to illustrate that a lot of the time the disorder is killing you while you are also trying your best to help yourself get better.

+princessvlog Sometimes mania does not manifest very often. Also if this was about bipolar II, (the title) there would be very little or even no mania at all, rather hypomania. But I do agree; there wasn't any mania or hypomania which are essential for the diagnosis of bipolar I and II respectively. Also I heard that many patients don't recognize their mania/hypomania; I have bipolar II and never noticed my hypomania until recently.

fastforward 25 yrs later & I'm told it was an undetected since 2014
I've been taking tegretol since January this yr & never felt better I still have some psychotic & depressive episodes that drives my sister & nephew nuts they can't tell what I'm gonna be like from 1 day 2 the next
but I know I'll never trust a psychiatrist social worker again no wonder I bashed a few in the late 90's I can't remember it but I just hoped I had fun cause them amateur trained fuckheads deserved it & that goes 4 the next prick like that who comes my way

I have no idea what language this is, but based only on the content alone, and keeping in mind it's only about one particular man's experience, I would say it represents bipolar fairly well. I have bipolar and my experience is much more extreme, but it does look a little different for each person who has it. I really like the ending a lot. In fact, that very last scene is a great summarization of bipolar- the doctor is our healthy place, our baseline while the patient is when we're either dangerously manic or devastatingly depressed. We want to live and help ourselves (doctor) but also are being killed inside (patient) and often people with bipolar do end their lives. Regardless of your opinion about bipolar, the film itself was well made. 🙂🙂🙂

I can defiantly relate.....I have bipolar disorder and anxiety. Lately my moods have been swinging a lot for the past 2 weeks at home and mostly in school. I get happy but then I start to become depressed and sad, and sometimes I cry too. The happens to me like every second or minute. I have been rude to my mom a lot too, I've blamed some people for things and get angry and sometimes violent too. But so far I haven't even violent but I've been yelling at my mom a lot, and sometimes to my step dad too. I don't only have bipolar, I have something else called executive functioning. It's kind of hard to explain that but having that also makes my life difficult at times too.
I really hate having to go through this and I want things to be good for me and be more positive to others. I am going on a different medication now and hopefully it will help me to be more happier and stabilized.

What I can tell you is that as a bipolar he can be stable one day (meds and therapy can help). Honestly a family member sneaking up meds into your food and finding it out could make anyone paranoid and angry to some point. But outbursts are scary. An environment that can be trusted is a step towards stability. Daily routines might too, creating a rhythm (waking up, eating, going to bed, each at fixed time every day). Less screaming and pressure around. There is hope. But sadly, no magical cure to just fix it overnight. It's also up to how much he can try, how much the illness let him try. It's ok to ask professionals how you should be dealing with it as a family member. If you even feel like helping, I'm not judging. Just don't let your life spiral because of it, and don't forget to be there for yourself too. Hang in there, buddy.

Pavan Obhan yes it is? He's just medicating himself so he can live a "normal" Life. He could very well be type 2 and he's trying to create a fake sensation of happiness/mania. Witch for people like this is the only feeling of "happiness" They know. People with bipolar type 2 tend to have long periods with deep and serious depression and small periods of hypomania witch is nothing like mania, so people around you tend to think you're just in a good mood/aggitated/hyperactice, it depends on the day (some times theese sensations only last for hours, most times 3 days or more) There's a lot of aspects in the bipolar disorder, It's not fully understood yet.

I agree that everyone is different, and that personality also plays a role, but this video, if it wants to be about the disorder, sucks at showing it. That's also the reason I believe this video is not about it, bipolar means two extremes, a double life which is shown in this video, that would make more sense.

If you can't afford your meds, check with your doctor, health care clinic or medical companies. Sometimes they offer free meds to people that cant afford them. That is how I got my meds until I got put on Medicare. I don't know how it works in the Phillipines, though, but please check into it. There is no reason for you to suffer like this. The problem with the treatment, is that every organism respond differently. I see many people that say with the treatment you act as a "normal", it's true? It's difficult.
I live in Brazil. Here, many doctors that are "specialist", don't know how to deal with bipolar. My wife is bipolar, I treat her for 10 years, is a nightmare. No1 can say this is a wrong interpretation of bipolar, its different and personalised to each individual. Gets me wondering though how many people commenting are legit though seeing as its now a fashionable thing to say you are. For example, I saw an advert for a quiz titled "how bipolar are you" and it made me feel sick. Its shit like that that makes this illness a mockery and not seen as serious. As a type 2 with a genuine diagnoses, that is way more offensive and hurtful than a film like this, a simple interpretation of someones experience. Perhaps concentrating on and addressing the real problem i mentioned earlier would be a better way forward.

Lately Ive been having trouble with my mood, being angry, sad, getting in to fights for small reasons. Ive been like this my entire life. Alpha Kenny Guy. I was diagnosed 25 yrs ago. I always had unpredictable moods, I was a demanding child youngest of 4. I reacted badly when things didn't go my way. I learned a lot about possibly being manic depressive when I started therapy 32 yrs ago. I was a very unhappy child. I had trouble keeping friends. At 12 yrs.old I took a bottle of aspirin my mom took me to have my stomach pumped but never addressed my issues with a professional. I went through many relationships most I left for being fearful they would find out something was wrong with my behavior. When I was diagnost I was put on all kinds of medications some had horrible side effects some didn't help at all. I've been hospitalized several times as an adult. Mostly during medication changes because I had a high chance of having a dangerous reaction. These days people searching for answers and medication can have a DNA TEST done that can tell them what medication would have the best out come & what meds will not. So no more cocktails of whatevers new on the market. It's a God send to my lifestyle. I can be proactive in my mental health plans and not just leave it in the hands of a psychiatrist. Please remember you do not have to listen to the first Dr. You see always remember to be proactive in your MH., because Dr's are only human too & make mistakes. Remember your going to have to treat bipolar disorder for the rest of your life. I'm happy for you that your family recognizes your need & are supportive, also that you are young & don't have to live confused by your behavior for 30 yrs. God Bless You

Video should have started with somone so happy, spending alot of money, talking fast, staying up all night. Then they crash, can't get out of bed, and sleep the day away and miss work and school because of "your sick" when you're physically fine, you can't tell truth why you can't get out of bed, you were so happy a week ago "manic" now you feel sense of doom.
