MJD did you missed the Windows 95 Plus! for kids？Microsoft published two plus! pack for Windows 95 actually. And this Plus! pack's all programs were included in Windows XP Media Center Edition which MJD didn't mentioned. I think the Vista Ultimate Extras was the successor of the Plus! pack.

I sold computers and software in the late 90's early 2000's and a lot of time they would sell boxed software that had nothing inside but a disk in a case of sleeve, so that the box would have a larger presence on the shelves to catch people's eye, then when the software price was reduced, they would recall the remaining items, un-box them and sell them for cheaper....

when i tried with vmware to try plus digital media (i used an iso file) i got an error that said like needing windows xp to be installed the os i used to try digital media was WINDOWS XP. i wanna fix it and i cant
Wow all those skins look like the most cheap fake MP6 players that like dankpods would review haha. I would've foudn it tacky and ugly in the day but I was much more of a nerdy stick-in-the-mud. I certainly appreciate the style now.

it's a shame that microsoft left the XP design language behind. it was unironically a very human design.
It’s the most aesthetically pleasing version of windows imo. So simplistic and easy to use. it just works and does what you want it to.
Microsoft definitely changed after XP.
The Vista design team with their Aero remains the greatest.
