- idk what you're doing here but hey, you do do.
I don't take credit for any of this, just wanted more people to know about the work that goes into the game we love behind-the-scenes. Seeing some of the ideas and animations and work cut from the game here is crazy, hopefully some of it shows back up eventually (: - Hry
The detail of the Dreg stumbling when dodging because he is missing half of his arms that could help him get back up is so sad
I just realized that they reused that Iron Banner axe animation for the new Twilight Arsenal super.
Neat, its a pretty good animation.
Everyone thought I was crazy when I told them back in Rise of Iron that the Iron Banner axe asset was likely a scaffolding feature to eventually introduce it into our kit as either a permanent weapon type or an ability BUT WHO'S LAUGHING NOW MATTHEW YOU DUMB STUPID CRETIN
these look so much cooler without all the VFX somehow
Destiny 3 playable eliksni guardians, Destiny 3 playable eliksni guardians, Destiny 3 playable eliksni guardians, Destiny 3 playable eliksni guardians…
Eliksni Preferred Species (on one hand, it would be so cool, on the other, we would probably have to lose Mithraks, or worse, Eido, for that to happen)
It's going to happen @@crasterlongshanks4284
Imagine the light hive
Lucent hive playableeee plsss
Playable hive sounds very cool
This is god tier animation reference. So many different themes.
I would have loved seeing the fallen interact with their environment more like climbing around on walls
Seeing these animations stand alone really makes me see the game in a different light. There are so many hardworking artists and creators behind this game, who are then able to blend their creations into the actual gameplay with another extremely hard-working team working the code. Bungie truly does have talented teams, if only their work wasn't tainted by the god awful microtransactions and questionable decision-making made by the higher-ups.
Never noticed arc staff and quickfang shared animations
They do? Where in the video did you see it?
GOD THESE ARE SO COOL OMG
The sword animations 😫😫😫
I wish more of the idle enemy animations made it to the game
You know, it’s so interesting seeing these animation cycles within a void, because within the game, wether it be in game or via a cutscene, you often times get lost in the visual noise and don’t notice just how stylistic each of the animation cycles are.
Like a Warlock placing down a rift in these cycles seemed more extreme here than it does in game. Or popping Hammers, or really any set of animations.
I'm sorry was that a wolf....we could've had WOLVES
i fucking knoooowww imagine sending a wolf out in trials and that mf ripping apart some sweaty ass self res warlock the second he revived 😭
I remember reading somewhere that there were plans for introducing multiple options for animal companions, even Cabal War Beasts
would've been cool to have a shank or something too ngl :p
This is true destiny evolution at its finest.
This'll be great for animation study and reference material my dude, thanks a bunch for posting this

Id kill for a remaster to the bond brothers strike in heresy
Same, plus those gauntlets for titans and the Tread Upon Stars? 😫😫
@@CantWant abso-feckin-lutly those gauntlets are still glued to the d1 version of my titan
I could watch Guardians dance like that ALL day. I so wish we still could get those emotes >:(
Guardian dog. Think about it.
Even with ragdoll physics destiny is clean
D2 has stiff ragdolls
god i miss destiny 1 launch. so much mystique and wonder.
The way the wizard toys with the acolyte by dangling it’s worn above it
Watch At 0.25x And Study The Ease In And Ease Out Of Every Animation, BRU!
Navota has defeated 10000 gaurdians again
This just popped up in my recommendations
Richard Lico is amazing animator
*what the Scrap bungie? [deadpan at some Combat performances not making it canon]*
Inspirational material and marketing.
Good for reference 😂
The fact these are four years old, and yet are simply amazing and only concept (most of them) FURTHER ESTABLISHES MY POINT THAT BUNGIE SHOULD FOLLOW MORE OF THEIR CONCEPT ART INSTEAD OF PUTTING OUT DISAPPOINTMENTS LIKE NEZARAC
This is so cool
3:33 definitely not a smash bros reference imao
The part with cabal are my favorite, but the ones with the flare and then waving kinda depresses me🤧 They tried to signal the drop ships but they were all either killed or taken.
Ik right they were desperate poor souls attacked for nothing
Looks lit uwu
Mad key animation and mocap clean up
They All Look Hand Made
They don’t look mocapped
Motion builder
Why do the animations look so much cleaner when they're not in game?
Where can I see the first reel?
it that was all there was to it unfortunately. got them off vimeo, just look up destiny reels on there and some will come up. you'll have to dig for awhile like i did but overall i feel like i learned more ab destiny from it lol
9:49 the damn call
In d1 it was Vestian Dynasty and The Queen's Choice, VD also exists in D2 with an ornament :o
What’s the soundtrack that plays around 10:30?
To answer your question a little late, it's "The Awoken".
Where i find triste animations
God i miss the og hunter armor aesthetic
The absolute drip they had
🗿
Yo Angelo
whoa... theres dogs?!!!!! WHAT
yup, it supposedly almost became an ability with rise of iron but devs said it just didn't work or fit within the sandbox at the time :p
wait was that a pet wolf? I don't remember that from rise of iron. Were pet wolves cut content?
They were! Was going to be an ability! I'll try to find a link for ya explaining more in depth
why arent the cool hive idle anymations in the game
Most were in some capacity in d1 but were harder to find, idk if almost any of these are in d2 unfortunately :(
Also the one where the witch kicks the acolyte through the portal? And where the witch dangles the worm in front of an acolyte? Ive played d1 since the start. Never seen it, but could definitely be hidden somewhere i never was. Or i just shot everything before they could do the animation xD. Ive also spotted a model for a hive night with the explosive head of the cursed thrall, would have also been really cool to have that in the game.
@@lordwurst9331 Im pretty sure the ones tagged as "Destiny Exploration" are early proof of concept animations to get a feel for possible faction behaviour and interactions, also its interesting how all those Exploration animations are Hive specifically, might be even stuff from a pre-rework D1 story
@@lordwurst9331 It's also important to note that not everything makes it to the final cut of the game (that's the nature of development unfortuntely).
There's still a lot of neat little details and stuff though throughout the game~
sorry to comment on an old vid, but I notice after most every attack there's like a jiggle of the clothing, that's by like some jiggle script/ tool?
No worries! Good question though, I'll try to research some ab it, if you do too lmk id love to know
@@CantWant My question was if you used a tool or script to add the clothing motion, or did it by hand?
In the attack samples, specifically.
@@venomtang ohhh, my bad. I didn't make these, all made by various devs by Bungie. just put em in one video to rewatch easily for personal use but apparently other people were curious 💀
@@CantWant ooooooooo, ah okay thanks
I need the rigs pleasee

sad to see how the consistency of the artstyle degraded over time
?
It really hasn’t
I'd say armor/ornament wise, consistency is somewhat lacking, what we get nowadays doesn't really look like destiny. I'm biased though, 1000% prefer the Destiny 1 vanilla-taken king classic armor models :p feel the new enemies and areas all look really cool, weapons fit well enough, musics good, supers/abilities are pretty clean. It's just the weird armor now that doesn't fit
@@CantWant do you have any actual examples of armor that you feel doesn’t fit? Most of the armor we’ve got recently is from Raids and Dungeons and they are all consistent with the art style of those raids and dungeons.
@@charleywilson2146agreed, the ones that match where they're from are somewhat understandable. cross game sets I can understand. Most of the stuff I mean is more recent seasonal content from the last couple years. Like, veiled tithes for example. It matches where it's from but, besides random pieces on each character, it's probably one of the worse ones. A lot of the vanilla D2 armor looks off. Randomly bulby, doesn't accept certain shaders and will default to a gray, weird undersuits, randomly flowing curves and shapes.
Will say, I wouldn't feel that as much if we atleast got some more of the D1 armor back like, a long time ago. We see em in cutscenes and on dead npcs buuuut that's ab it.
Will edit in a bit on particular armor other than veiled tithes that I'm not a huge fan and particular sets of stuff I'd like back since you'd like some examples🫡 am at work lol
beautiful, thanks for sharing
