      Prue was able to channel the heightened emotions from her empathy to fuel her telekinesis and astral projection. Prue’s initial trigger was strong emotion so Prue’s power empathy was so amazing because of the combination of powers she had that field each other . Phoebe has passive powers so her empathy was somewhat walled off from her premonitions and levitation. Also Phoebe has bad karma from past life misuse of more aggressive powers so like she did in this life from misuse she had to earn stronger powers through her life cycles . Shorthand it’s the combination of powers that made Prue Jean Grey and Phoebe pretty kewl in her own right. (Let’s say psylocke)😅

      @@rayalexander3734 I don’t think phoebe empathy was separate from her premonition as it was due to her advanced why she developed it. If anything had her power not been removed she would be able to have visions without touching things, like in this scene. Phoebe premonition grew to where she would feel the emotions in her visions of the past and future so it made sense to do it in the present. Also i would like to think piper has been able to speed up molecules from maybe season one where she learns to unfreeze by speeding up the molecules. In season 3 it got so advanced that she is able to combust.

    1here. Prue was almost at Jean Grey’s lvl. Mortals can’t handle magic, just as witches can’t have powers they’re not destined for. Without going mentally crazy. That’s so not fair.

      The mortals i agree with but as for witches, evil witches and warlocks take powers that aren’t theirs. I think some powers are just too much to handle. Also empathy and telepathy tends to take a toll when you can’t control it.

    • @aiden877
      @aiden877 Před 3 měsíci +3

      @@BlackGirlMarvel Maybe that is another reason they let her go was because she was in agreeance with Constance about the show and didn't get along with Brad and was more vocal about it because once both women were gone the outfits became more sexy, men were becoming more dominant in the story, and the sisters lives less important unless it was to serve a needy for love story.

      @@aiden877 Shannen wanted the show to be more serious (because if you want to be recognized as a good actress, that's a good way to show it). She directed a few great episodes too, so I see why she was so involved with the quality of the show.
      But Brad Kern knew that the ratings spiked with increasing amount of bare skin, which caused the confrontation of quality drama vs sexplotation. At first they said she resigned, which was understandable... Sadly, she actually got fired. I guess she had the kind of charisma that could make people stand together beside her, and the producers didn't like that AT ALL.

    Season 3, Episode 6: Primrose Empath

  • @ThisGuysAnimation
    @ThisGuysAnimation Před 3 měsíci +7

    Who do you think was a more powerful empath, Prue or Phoebe? Prue, being the first-born, seems like the obvious choice given her telekinesis alone could destroy any enemy she faced. However, Phoebe had a natural empathy even before gaining empathic powers, and with her premonition abilities, she could feel what she saw. Later, she became an empath and, by 2009, acquired the powerful ability of psychic reflection. Although I love Prue, I'm leaning towards Phoebe because in 2003 she got her empath power and did significant damage with it, reflecting powers and channeling emotions. It just seemed to suit her better.

    • @jaywest3734

      Phoebe's empath power was fucking stupid.

    • @BlackGirlMarvel
      @BlackGirlMarvel Před 3 měsíci +1

      I agree. This is hands down one of the best episodes of Charmed. It was cool seeing Prue in a vulnerable state and able to channel the ability to stop the unstoppable demon.
      But empathy was made for Phoebe and thus suited her better, the only difference is the writing 😂 The writers let Phoebe down but she would've eventually grown to be able to reflect premonitions back to people as she was already able to share in and share premonitions. Having the ability to put the grief of demons back on them is Fury level. Phoebe got let down in the writers room.

    • @clauderain312
      @clauderain312 Před 3 měsíci

      In terms of power, it's Prue, without a doubt. She is the most powerful of her lineage, and empathy multiplies this power.
      In terms of consistency, it's Phoebe. Phoebe naturally understands the feelings of others, this power suits her, and Prue was not destined to receive this gift (which makes Prue's feat even more incredible).
      The paradox is that Phoebe developed the gift of empathy at a time when she became completely self-centered. This is the problem in its evolution. The Phoebe of seasons 1 and 2 was a better empath, without the power of empathy, than the Phoebe who received the power.
