About Koraput :-
Koraput is a district of India in southern Odisha, with headquarters at Koraput. The district is located in the Eastern Ghats and is known for its hilly terrain, rich and diverse types of mineral deposits and its tribal culture and traditions. The district headquarters of Koraput and its largest city, Jeypore are major centres of trade and commerce for South Odisha and fall on an important road connecting Visakhapatnam to Raipur.
Koraput District located in the backdrop of green valley’s contemplating immaculate freshness, was established on 1st April, 1936. Decorated by forests, waterfalls, terraced valleys and darting springs, the District draws the nature loving people. The District is bounded by Rayagada in the east, Bastar District of Chhatisgarh in the west and Malkangiri District in the south. As far as the history of the District is concerned, the region of Koraput existed far back in the 3rd century BC when it belonged to the valiant and dreaded Atavika people. The region was ruled by several dynasties, like Satavahanas, Ikshvakus, Nalas, Ganga kings and kings of Suryavanshi, who nominated the Koraput region before the arrival of British. Finally the Koraput became a District in the year 1936.
About Jeypore:-
Jeypore is one of the largest towns and a place of historical significance in Koraput district in the Indian state of Odisha. It was established as a capital of king Vir Vikram Dev in the mid 17th century. The kingdom was defeated by the East India Company in 1777 and was made a Zamindari and later was promoted to a Princely state until its dissolution in the Dominion of India in 1947
The city of victory of the erstwhile Jeypore state, the old palace is encircled by high wall with an imposing gate. A mile and a half wide water tank, known as Jagannath Sagar, is ideal for water sports. Jeypore developed as the center of trade in Koraput District, is also famous for paper mask crafts.
About Food Of Odisha:-
Odia Cuisine is the cuisine of the state of Odisha. It has developed over time with local culture and agriculture and hence has its distinct items and practices. Odisha borders both north Indian states and south Indian states and consequently is similar to the cuisines of South and North India.
Compared to other regional Indian cuisines, Odia cuisine uses less oil and is less spicy while nonetheless remaining flavourful. Rice is the staple food of this region. Mustard oil is used in some dishes as the cooking medium, but ghee (made of cow's milk) is preferred in temples.[3] In old times food was traditionally served on banana leaves or disposable plates made of sal leaves.
