Sean young was chosen to play Rachel the android because she was the sole actress looking too pretty to be true with her perfect bones structure, perfect profile, just unreal! Her sole rival could have been Greta Garbo in the 30’s.
+aima pile LOL she's had an inconsistent career. she's not even in a top100 best females actress of history of movies. Comparing Young to Garbo, what next denise richards to grace kelly, or maybe maybe megan fox to bergman?
This remains one of the most superbly shot scenes in film history IMO. The attention to detail, the lighting, the music; it all just fits together so perfectly.
One of my favorite films of all time. Ridley Scott was on a fucking roll. First Alien, then Blade Runner. Two absolutely iconic films of the genre. He will inevitably fuck up the sequel, just as he did with Alien. The man has lost his touch, and the great effects and art talent of the late 70s & early 80s has all retired. Hollywood doesn't know how to make classically beautiful films anymore. Too much CGI garbage.
ya, they recreated the exact moment at 0:20 - 0:23 in the 2049 sequal...and it was so cool how they did it, it was basically the same shot but more surreal, in slowed motion. I couldn't help but try and watch the original sequence again. it's brilliant.
"The attention to detail, the lighting, the music" you're damn right sir! the lighting and architecture of tyrell's hall, and light reflection on the floor and that afternoon sun just between those buldings, omg i die everytime i see these shots

Projekt Kobra I love her and this scene. She’s steamy hot here. I didn’t know she was among Weinstein’s long line of potted plants and victims who had their faces shoved into his wang.
@@mikeb8638 Hey dummy. She fell off a horse and broke her arm while riding with Michael Keaton the Friday before shooting was to begin. That's why she was replaced. Get your stories straight.
they did two things.. she had a body double-shes put on a little weight, and they used CGI.. However, I believe it is her body in one closeup scene from her front and the reverse scene with Deckard holding her hand, It is her hand and arm, you can tell by the fingers. So they are actually touching each other in the movie. Obviously its her dubbed voice over the cgi face. I didnt think she was going to be in it.. but first the voice made me think.... "how did they do that"? They I realized with the hand it was really her... Then the credit scene for verification, of course.
Ed So that's true. you can tell its her hand. my mind was blown by how real it looked. it's hard to make it realistic especially when using a lot of practical shots. they must have spent a lot of money on rendering.
RossBayCult That was the moment where I felt Harrison Ford should be a frontrunner for every major award this year. You can hear his heart breaking all over again when he says "Her eyes were green."

This has been an amazingly underrated film. For 1982 this film is just brilliant. I watched it as a kid and it was weird I watched it once or twice as a young adult and now I'm really moved by this film. Especially as I come to understand the afterlife, spirituality, alien life, and time. Time is said to be an illusion for us on earth. In the afterlife your spirit can share its energy in multiple places and travel instantaneously. Time perhaps is stacked onto of itself or maybe it's like a big ball of yarn. Buy other times are occurring now and we will be able to walk into another time. And its likely we exist as our same individuals in other dimensions or times all connected to our higher self. I like this dr eldon tyrell. Really reflect a genius appearance in 80's film
This movie was SOOOO ahead of its time in the 80's.
Sean looks like Betty Page and Vivian Leigh here. She looks like a woman from a 1950s Superman comic book, although her look is more 40s.
Her look was inspired by a golden Hollywood Age actress according to ridley scott
