- We’ve come full circle, it was 10 years ago that I showed you all what’s on my PS3, and then eventually PS4, PSP, and PS Vita. But there’s a new modern console in town. And if you’re good at counting, then you probably figured out it’s PS5. So let me show you all what I’ve got on this hot tamale. From my installed games, my game lists, streaming services, and my storage setup. You’re gonna look at it from top to bottom. Would you just get a look at that? That’s nice and shiny.

Im glad that NVMe SSDs have gotten so inexpensive. Upgraded my PS5 with 2TB of extra space and haven‘t run out of it, yet.
I'd recommend upping that to 4tb to be properly future proofed
It's been 20 minutes since you left this comment. Have you ran out of space yet? 😂 Doesn't take long at all.
@@GalathNoxit’s only npc ass games that take that much storage, siege, apex, COD etc nobody has all those downloaded so 2TB gets you FAAAR
Is there any difference in running games off the PS5's SSD over installed SSD's? I heard games might occasionally suffer slight hitching if you don't use the PS5's SSD?
I run all my games off the 2tb M.2 I have installed and have not run into any issues running any PS5 games. This is with a 980 pro that has read speeds of upto 7000 MB/s, if you get something a lot slower you may run into issues.@@duncanself5111
I’m glad someone appreciates Astro’s Playroom as much as I do. Literally one of my favorites on PS5. Don’t think I’d be able to contain myself if they announce a full fledged game for it.
I loved it as well! It was soooo cute. Great way to experience PS5 for the first time.
It was such a great initial experience with the Dualsense. I still hope they'll release a part 2, if not a proper a full fledged game like you said. The graphics, the music, the immersion... it's just unique.
Played for 30 minutes and got stuck 😂 deleted never touched it again 🤷🏻♂️ didn’t get the hype myself.
@@residentsteveah man. You have to give it another shot.
It’s a pack in game that is in my top 3 for 3D platformers. Wild.
how the hell you get stuck on that game!?@@residentsteve
i love these kinds of videos for some reason, its interesting to see how other manage their storage
it makes me indescribably happy to see people still playing Sly cooper.
That's the feeling I get when people bring up the Jak series
How tf do you get it bro ive been trying since they said it would come out on ps plus ?
@@Raiders67 it is on ps plus. i also have it on ps vita, steam deck, and the ps3 version and ps2 versions 😅
I just have the one game I’m playing installed nowadays, with super fast internet and install times I have to wait at most an hour for most games, I generally go eat while I wait
Love your set up Ryan thanks for sharing. The one thing that can eat up storage a bit I find is if you save a lot of screen shots and gameplay recordings.
True.
I have three of those Samsung T7 exrernal SSDs, which I find handy because I can color-code them for content. A 500GB in Blue, a 1TB in Red and the 2TB which only comes in Titanium Grey. They perform really well at the top speed for the PS5's USB ports.
Yes didn't have to wait till Friday for a new vid. You came in clutch Ryan thank you
This gives me so much nostalgia to the what’s on my ps3 video that’s how I discovered your channel
love these kinds of vids
I upgraded to a 2tb ssd early but figured I would get my moneys worth rather than waiting. In terms of what I always have stored on my ps5, I’ll always keep the resident evil series installed. It was great to have the directors cut of the ps1 original added to premium as I already have it from back on the ps3 store. Hoping one day they’ll add the original resident evil 2!
Isn’t directors cut of RE1 the one that has the awful music? Better to have REmake instead since the black label ost isn’t available
@@CruxisAngel954it is! Although in saying that, it isn’t that the full black label ost has been replaced. It’s just a few of the tracks. I do have REmake installed though and actually replaying it at the moment for spooky season. For me, REmake is the greatest horror game of all time.
Btw, the 'resume activity' option which is found just a d-pad tap away is an awesome feature of the PS UI. Really loving it lately.
I just recently added that exact same 2TB 980 SSD and I love it. As you said, plenty of room for just about all the games I would want to have installed now. I have also kept a 1TB external HDD for a long time, going back to the old PS4 and still use it for VR and PS4 games. It lets me move from the PS4 in another room to the PS5 in the living room without having to reinstall everything if I want to move the PSVR or play an older game.
All my PS4 and PS5 games I have right now add up to 3TB.
So I’m thinking about buying the same 2TB Samsung internal SSD and a 2TB T7 externally. So for the coming decade I have 2TB left which should be enough I hope.
i usually have 2-3 games installed playthrough them and uninstall after getting the plat
Hi Mystic, Always good to see your videos. I mostly agree with your list. Returnal is def a must stay even though I completed 100% (Need to go back and finish the DLC). Just wondering if maybe you could organise a PlayStation Party with your fans on games of your choice. I know you are periodically checking the PS3 multiplayer side of things to check if the servers are still up but it could be good fun to play with your audience on PS5.
I for one always delete a game the minute I platinum it, unless its Bloodborne or Demons' Soul's. Those 2 never leave my home screen ever even with my 2TB expanded storage
It's crazy how people dont realize the money you can save by doing this. Ive had my PS5 since launch and I've never felt the need to upgrade my storage because what's the point in keeping a game you've already completed on file?
True! If a game has dlc confirmed I'll just re-download it again or if I feel like playing it from scratch
@@SavagePatch115Because it's an item I paid for. That's the point.
Now if you buy it on a disc that doesn't have an "internet required" label on the front, you can delete to your heart's content since you don't need internet to reinstall it.
I love your “what am I even saying” chapter title 😂
Good call on keeping Returnal 👍
There is no need for him to start a new game on a different account, he can just delete the save and start fresh that way?
On PS4, even though there was a large period of time where I wasn't even playing on it very much while away at school, I always felt like I was on the edge and deleting two or three things every time I installed something new. I bought a 2 terabyte SSD last year and might think about that external storage option for PS4 stuff somewhere down the line but as of right now I haven't had any storage issues and have only deleted stuff that I know I'm not interested in keeping on there.
So, glad you made this video. It's nice to see what Mystic my fav CZcamsr for anything PlayStation news. By the way I have a lot of games too I like to see what kind of games you play. Thanks for the video keep up the good work.
This guy could make the most mundane video ever and I’d still watch, love his videos
I dont have any extra storage so I try to change things up every month or so but the few things I never delete are: Kingdom Hearts 1.5+2.5, Undertale and Marvels Spiderman MM.
I bought a western digital 1tb ssd maybe a year or so back as it was the one to go for then, one used by Cerny himself & it was a reasonable price. I also have two 4tb hdd external drives for anything on the backlog, so I find no need to delete anything unless i am completely done with it. I am happy to move stuff from the external drives to ssd & back again when needed. There is no need to purchase a further ssd for my needs. I am happy with almost 10 tb of storage😂
I was laughing when you talked about upgrading from 1TB to 2TB for your M.2 because I literally just did that last night. Got a good deal on a 2TB SN850 to replace the 1TB Firecuda I got back when they were still all pricey.
I know this is a mainly PS channel, but I'd love to see a "what's on my switch/series X"
@Mystic I took a 2 year break from PlayStation I’m considering getting back into it but I was curious if you could make a video about all the PS5 Pro rumours. Lots of conflicting videos on CZcams. Thanks for the great content as always!
Hey Mystic saw you at the Syracuse RetroGaneCon and just saw your collab with Mr. Wright Way. Nice work. Was just wondering, since it was my first con, how it compared to the many you've probably been to and what, if anything, you picked up. I know the Cartridges Galore setup had loads of PS4
love this content
I use the "Keep in Home" for certain online games (e.g. FF14: ARR, ESO, GTA5) and for whichever games I'm currently playing, so that they don't cycle out after purchasing/ installing new content.
Got my PS5 1 year ago, bought an Team Group 2TB SSD with an thick heatsink (had trouble putting the SSD in my PS5 cover), and also got a WD Black 8TB external HDD. Its half full with 4.38 TB used on it. Got at least 120 games on my PS5, and Spider-Man 2 is going to be next. After i finish "Immortals: Fenix Rising" just bought the Season Pass for $12.
120 games! Geesh I only have like 40
@TISUAL
I got an PS4 Slim back in 2017, and signed up for PS Plus. Collecting whatever game I wanted. Sold it on eBay last year.
The Spider-Man games and The Last of Us Part I & II never get deleted.
Need that space boii😂
the best first party games 🙌
I picked up a PS5 for my birthday 2 months ago and have been quite enjoying the console.. i picked up Demons souls & Returnal first.. other older games i already owned like Bloodborne and Days Gone.. Persona 5 Royal & FF7 remake.. i also recently picked up Eternights, Lords of the fallen, & Daymare 1994 Sandcastle. 🔥
I share a lot of your same games Surprised to not see the shatter remaster on PS5 though if you haven't gotten around to checking it out it was wonderful to relive, highly recommend.
Oh ok, I personally bought the WD Black for $80. Back when the PS5 released. I mostly just delete games after I finish beating them. But I keep like 3 or 4 on my hard drive. I play popular games and a lot of personal games that may not popular to some ppl,but I love. And I rarely reinstall. And stuff always last along time, because I always take care of my stuff. I have 6 custom PlayStation 5 controllers. 2 from "Laza Mods and 4 from "Modded Zone.
It would be sick if you broadcasted the fact that Battlefield 1943, Bad company 1 & 2, and Mirror edge’s servers are shutting down December 8th! Your influence could potentially boost the server numbers for the next 2 months. Cheers mate.
The way I manage storage is that I only keep the games that mean a lot to me and that I see myself coming back multiple times to in the near or far future. As for other games that were just like a one-time thing, then I'll just delete them once I'm done. If I don't see myself coming back to it, then it doesn't need to stay.
I also only play 1 game at a time, maybe 2 (1 long + 1 short) but I found that the updates/game data of games are so huge these days and takes such a long time if you have slower internet I want to have it all set to go when I want to play my next games on a cheap external drive.
bro is the goat for anything related to playstation 😂
Yes he is. Any content he makes is awesome. Also to me his voice is calm, doesn't have crazy party music on the background and overall he is very fun to watch anything related to PS and gaming news.
@@MikeTheGreek i agree with you so much
I also jumped on the 1 Tab SSD since 2021 and now I can get twice the storage at that same price. I also got a Samsung 870 SSD that I put into an USB 3 enclosure for PS4 games. I will wait for Black Friday to get a 2 TB SSD.
Already upgraded to 2TB Nvme SSD and it's enough for now.
My plan is eventually I'll buy large 8TB external HDD for backup (It's cheap now), and move my game that I finished to it.
So if I need to play it again in the future I could just copy back again and not worrying about Internet or PSN status.
The games I keep installed perpetualy are things like MGS V, Border Break, Rogue Company, Dauntless, and now that I got a 2TB HDD for ps4 games for only 49€, I'm gonna install games I loved but had to delete to make room for new ones. For example, Titanfall 2, DOOM, Mad Max, Battlefield 1 and 4, TLOU for Grounded and MP, etc.
Personally I avoid playing multiple games at once so I usually have very few games installed on my PS5 at the same time, I do have the occasional GaaS shooter on it and a game I like going back to or that I'm currently trying to get the plat for (recently finished MGSV). I'm also fortunate enough to have gigabyte speed internet connection so if I want to install a game in a pinch I could always do that.
Got a 4tb ssd last year gonna get an 8tb ssd now that PS5 supports it 👍🏻
Good video I have a 1gb m.2 I need to upgrade but so pricey oh well I guess I’ll just keep juggling games 😂
Great question. Especially with the storage being a premium glad to see a more casual video like this
Do you have a home theater setup that be interesting to see.
Returnal is my game of the decade.
I've had PS Plus since 2013 and filled up 3TB pretty easy with just that alone, keep in mind a 8TB HDD is really 7.32TB of usable space. I thought I over did it buying a 8TB WD Black external HDD until I started downloading the new PS Plus game catalog every month.
I have ps5 since 2 months and have not played a single game on it. Still playing on ps4. Deal was so good to be true that i bought a ps5 even when i know there arent much games on it.
Jak 2 and GTA 3 are a must have
Mystic is such a chad 🕶 ❤️
I have a 4TB external drive that I bought for the PS4 and now I use on the PS5. It meets most of my needs. The games that I know I will replay later are transferred there.
I'm holding out for the 8 tb ssd because of it's inevitable 8 gb dram cache. The role that ram plays on a ssd for ps5 has been hugely underestimated.
That what am I even saying part was true to its name 🤣
Not bad, a little game storage is better than the internet to continue to work ps5 😎👍
I keep all my games in folders like all my open worlds go in one folder, racing games in a folder etc, also put games my backlog games in a folder so I remember what I’m games I’m going for full trophies, currently going for EA FC 24 platinum.
I have MK1, Overwatch 2, BO Cold War, Jak & Daxter, Twisted Metal 1,2 & Black, Wheel of Fortune, KH3, Toy Story 2, It Takes 2, Gravity Rush 2, Fall Guys, and Tetris Connected. And still have 129GB console space left. Never understood the need to upgrade space.
I have Lies Of P and that is gonna be my main game for the next 10 days until lanch day of The Lords Of The Fallen, followed by Marvel's Spiderman 2 a week later than that. The next 2 optionals for this month are Ghostrunner 2 and Alan Wake 2.
I really wanted to play Alan wake 2. Like a lot. But I can’t bring myself to download it. It’s so stupid how they are skipping a physical release
For keep at Home Screen I would use videos and screenshots just so I can find it easy when I want to look back at and to share with others
I do use keep in home (although it's technically redundant as a game in regular rotation will never leave the home page unless you install a load of games all at once). I have about 70-80 games on my PS5 at any one time, although a a few of those are VR2 games and drop-in drop-out games, and a lot of those are the games I want to play next rather than now. Some are games I've abandoned for now but kept installed with an aim to get them finished. Astro's Playroom will NEVER be deleted.
I only have 3 or 4 games installed on my PS5
@@unicorntomboy9736Same. I never felt the need to have an abundance of games installed at once
@@SavagePatch115 I don't know why Mystic Ryan does
@unicorngamer9736 Could be a data hoarding thing. I know people don't delete things because they might have data caps, or their internet isn't fast enough to have to cycle games
Awesome stuff
I am going to bite on a 2 gig drive this holiday season, the internal drive has worked fine with my external for ps4 stuff.
Y'know, maybe I should use Keep In Home to keep reminding me of my backlog...
I have two pS5s one in my bed room where I play on my 65in where I play when I play a lot of big AAA games for the first time. The ps5 I have in my office I play on when I want a smaller screen and I’m trophy hunting or I’m playing 2nd playthrough of games I’ve already finished.
Do have a lot of games I just don’t wanna delete. Like Red Dead and GTA V just games that seem it like it takes forever to download. My bed Ps5 has 1TB of storage.
I have a 5TB WD Black HDD and I definitely need to upgrade 😅 right now there’s like 290 PS4 games on it
I probably fall into the 1% of people who feel that the base 667 GB is plenty 😂 You see I only play one game at a time; I’m not the type of person who’s constantly hopping around several different games. Thus, whenever I’m done with a game (i.e., get the Platinum), I typically delete it right after. Which is funny, because on PS4 I upgraded to 2 TB a couple years in, but I haven’t felt the need to do that on PS5 💁🏻♂️
I would love to start playing this way. It’s so easy to get caught up in a backlog
I got a 1TB SSD for $64 on amazon. pretty sick and i dont see myself needing anything more any time soon.
😮 my favorite 😊
I actually have a few HDDs I use. One of them I keep all the PS4 versions of all COD games on haha
I'm close to 700 games in my library, i don't have premium so it's just PS4 and PS5 games i also have folders for genres, i don't use it often because when you view your library anything recent id on top anyways
My personal storage setup:
- internal for stuff that does not want to be put on something else, I don't want to waste read\write cycle on this, for all I know if it dies the console dies with it
- 2TB NvME SSD for PS5 games only
- 8TB USB "fast" spinning drive for all PS4 games (it's faster than the PS4 drive already and does not waste read\write cycles on an SSD)
I have no clue
I don't know why this happens with me, but no matter what games I am playing at the moment, Astro's Playroom is always the first on my list. It pops up there after it reads it from the HDD (it is saved there), and never leaves, regardless of what I do...
GT7 is the only game I will keep on my storage for the VR experience I visit every week.
Where I am from some of the games have not come out on ps5 plus I hope I get them at some stage
Forbidden Siren, such an awesome horror game for PS2.
Classic games old games collections some arcade archives always installed on my PS5
I brought a Samsung 980 pro 2tb for 140 a couple of months ago, in time I will get a 4tb eventually the prices of SSD has gone down considerably, I have the internal PS5 memory free 667gb also and for PS4 games I have a 4tb portable external, works well for me and plenty of room for what I need
Talking about SSDs, is it possible to move games from an ssd to another? I currently have a 2tb ssd drive and I would like to install a 4tb ssd drive.
Man you having the original GTA3 PS4 port makes me jealous
Ps3 media playback was soooo good
Maybe I'll buy an SSD later, but having a good internet connection it doesn't bother me so much to delete games that I don't use. I can just re download them in a few minutes when I want.
I think the icon for Destroy All Humans in the PS2 game list at 9:50 is actually the PS4 remake, not the one from Sony's mid-PS4 era PS2 remasters
im gonna get a corsair mp600 lpx 2tb eventually for ps5 use only
I love he PlayStation 5 but many games that came out last year only had a PlayStation 4 option so my PlayStation 5 has more PlayStation 4 games than PlayStation 5. But I do plan to get some PlayStation 5 exclusives. I hope Sony works with developers to bring back classic franchises like a new Ridge Racer. Cool video. ^_^
I got a PS5 a couple weeks ago and first thing i did was install a 1TB WD BLACK
Scored a 2TB Samsung 980 SSD during the Amazon sales this summer for $100. That was a steal!
Yeah the Corsair 4tb went down too. Now it's $280 instead of $100 more
I use the ps5’s internal drive for ps5 games and I also have a 4tb external hard drive for ps4 games but sometimes when I run out of space on the ps5 internal drive and there is a new ps5 game I want to play I move the I want to keep but not play at the time to the external hard drive and then copy it back over later when I feel like playing that ps5 game
i don't have any SSD and i keep only 3 to 4 games (like 2 solo games and 2 free to play) at a time, so the storage is not a issue for me
You have so much money for game pickups, I'm surprised you don't invest in better storage so you don't have to juggle installs all the time. I have hundreds of games installed on my PS5, and that isn't really possible unless you use an extra M.2 and USB storage. Just makes life overall much easier and more valuable and longterm useful than a few full price new or retro games. PC players are already used to dropping a few hundred dollars for one component, and storage is one of the most important ones
I already played all the games you have installed. Jak and GTA games never get deleted.
Mystic…how many ps5s do you have?
It's not recommended to max out your system storage past 90%, you're at 98%. SSD's need a buffer, especially system SSD's.
DOES SS 980 PRO WITH HEATSINK HAVE INCREASED RECORDING SPEED?, I WATCHED CZcams VIDEOS AND SAW MANY BENCHMARK'S ONLY HAVE 5500MB/S, AND THE WD SN850'S HAS 6500MB/S. THANKS
I have a 4TB on my PS5 SE. One day, I’ll like to upgrade it to 8TB and use the 4TB on my PS4 Pro (I don’t even know if it’s compatible).
Weird question I'm sure, but do u know what breed your cat is? I got a kitten about 6 weeks ago and I noticed your cat a few vids ago and yours looks like an exact adult version. Only mine is male. But same eye color and those light strips that go from the nose to the ears. If anybody else knows for sure I'd welcome an answer. Other than a blind guess at a black cat breed. Ty in advance should u see and respond.
I’m going to try to get a PS5 this holiday. I noticed they have disc models and digital. Does it make a difference what one I get? QVC has a good deal in a bundle and it’s a digital PS5. I’m looking into waiting for a better price for Black Friday . Hopefully won’t sellout. 😅
I should note I’ve never owned a PS anything/PS5 or played one. Only game I played was games on NeS way back in the 80’s/90’s. (Yes I’m a 43 female and I want to be a gamer! 😅)
Currently have a 2TB SSD installed and a 5 TB portable hard drive for all my PS4 content, and both get pretty full a lot, also HAH I also have ABANDONED installed, and Im never deleting it.
I added a fanxiang S660 4TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD with heat sink, works great. Was great price. I think I’ll be set for life, all I have is 7 PS5 games and maybe 25 PS4 games
A bit of overkill if you don't have many games but the extra storage is still great
@@HUYI1 I have 34-PS4 games, 8 PS5 games, I also have 2 PS4 games downloaded. That’s more than I thought I have.
Ryan, what tier of PS Plus do you have? I’m debating on which one to get
He has premium, he has PS1 PS2 and psp games in his folders, pretty obvious
Good HDMI Splitters bypass HDCP, you don't need it off!
My ps5 has a sabrent rocket nano 4TB SSD for ps4 games. It's full, but that's down from an 8TB HDD. For PS5 games, I have a firecuda 530 4TB, nearly full ~ 500GB free. This is from someone all digital since 2014.
