- Aan boord van de Mebo II, het zendschip van Radio Northsea International/Radio Noordzee. We zien de zenders, de studio!s, horen airchecks en een melding van een frequentiewissel, omdat de Britse overheid stoorzenders op de door RNI gebruikte frequentie had gezet.

RNI wurde auch in Leipzig / DDR gehört, das war eine schöne Zeit.
"Man of action" ist heute noch eine meiner Lieblingsmelodien und kommt öfters auf meinen Audiotapes vor.
Erstaunlich, wer diesen Sender alles gehört hatte und sich auch heute noch daran erinnern kann.

Ja, das waren noch Zeiten als RNI, Veronica und Caroline auf unseren "DDR-Weltempfängern" ertönten. Ich lebte damals in Rathenow bei Berlin.
Die QSL-Karten habe ich bis heute noch !!!!

RNI best station ever had to listen on shortwave 6205 when the jamming started.

I remember RNI goes DX great station
I used a transistor radio and by adjusting the angle I was able to cut out the interference from the jamming signal, here in Birmingham UK.

To Bob H. My God, you're right! Quite without being in any way INSTALLED, or CONNECTED, the fluorescent tube the man on deck is holding, DOES light up, because of the powerful radiation, (or whatever) from the aerial mast! Greenpeace used to say that if you stand underneath a power pylon, a fluorescent tube THERE would ALSO light up!

It was terrible, but only the rear end of the ship was damaged. They were back on the air the next day. The damage was repaired at sea.

Ah yes “Man of Action”. I remember it well. It was played just after 12 noon during the day during the Dutch service (1972-74) if I recall correctly following the news and weather.

At the beginning of this film, the lady D.J. has the best D.J. voice I have ever heard! I don't remember her, does anybody know who she was - can they reply please, and I can look up on the internet if she worked for any other stations! Thanks! Nygel Miller (DEEJAYENPS)

Of all the offshore Pirates of the 60's and 70's RNI seems to have that certain je ne sais quoi! Would love to have been around and working on Mebo II back in the day.. that or Caroline, VOP or Laser 558!

The wonderful RNI adventure ends on 31st August 1974; the day democracy died by minister Van Doorn (PPR/GroenLinks) in the Labour (PvdA) cabinet.of prime-minister Den Uyl. Remember that the Conservatives (VVD) were very in favour of free broadcast radio.
I used to listen to this pirate ship years ago and l really enjoyed it, but I don't know if they are still broadcasting or not, from this ship , could somebody let me know please.

I have already mentioned that this lady has the best voice of any DEEJAY, in my opinion! Years ahead of her time, now at last we DO have women DEEJAY!

What a great time to be alive, Pirate radio wow, Let all these poor young guys, Know what fun we had back in the day, I remember being glued to the radio when it was on fire. We didn't need to go and knife cos they didn't like what they heard. ffs.I say get alive guys.
