  • The Balobedu Royal Council has approached the North Gauteng High Court to interdict broadcaster Multichoice and Producer Duma Ka Ndlovu from airing the Modjadji Rain Queen Series on the 14th of July.
The argument is that the Balobedu Royal Council was never consulted on the production of the series.
But, the Modjadji Royal Council says they have been consulted and they have given Multichoice the go-ahead.

THIS ONE IS FOR THE HISTORY BOOKS!!!
AS MUCH AS WE LIVE IN A "DIFFERENT WORLD/AGE"- THERE'S LOGIC BEHIND, WHY A WOMAN CAN'T BE A TRADITIONAL LEADER.
PEOPLE WHO HAVE A DIFFERENT VIEW, ARE BEING MISLEAD BY THE WESTERN CULTURE, WHICH KNOWS LESS ABOUT OUR AFRICAN CULTURE/CUSTOMS.

Is that logic coming to the fore after a woman ruled successfully in that area! I don't understand your point.

What logic is that because Modjadji, a woman, ruled for many years in that administrative area before she passed on.

When she turned 18. The cerficate comes after, the same as when you get married traditionally, as long as you have paid dowry, you are considered married the marriage certificate comes after.

according the information on internet, she hasnt yet, it was supposed to be in April. But apparently the installation should be preceded by a cultural ceremony first, and thus far that has not happened.
