They should've included the scene from Rachel's 2 parties when first she says she loves her gift and it's perfect, Ross says "you can return it" and Rachel "now I love you even more"
also one scene Monica compliments something Rachel is wearing and Rachel said it was a birthday gift. Monica asked who it’s from and she said “you, i exchanged that sweater you got me”
Rachel is just one of those people who you should give money or gift cards to on christmas.

@@anannonymouscoverartist Money is just more universal, no shame in that. Unless people know specifics of your wishlist (and your measurements if it's clothes), it's better to leave it to the person. Besides, multiple money gifts can save up to something more grandiose than if it was used up in individual amounts.

I think the issue here is that people didn’t know Rachel was exchanging everything so they actually put time and effort into picking her something she’d basically just chuck. If she’d made it known no one would be mad about just giving her a gift card, albeit she’d be the least fun at Christmas.

I understand Rachel's point here(I wish to exchange or return it too for some cash) but I would never exchange the gifts. Because it would hurt their feelings.
I feel like most people would actually want someone to exchange their gift for something they actually like. I don’t want someone to keep something they don’t like and won’t get use out of.
The problem is Rachel exchanged every gift they got her. Which makes me think that she is either ungrateful or spoiled. Oh who am I kidding she is both.

All of the characters in the show had a lot of unlikeable qualities in them which made it more humane to watch.I like the fact that all of them were there for each other no matter what for the sake of friendship even if they didn't want to on individual levels.

Rachel is 100% right. There is no reason to keep some thing you don't like, just because it is a gift. It's better to exchange it for some thing you will get a lot of use. Or to give people a list of what you want (and people stick to it) like it was shown on her 30th birthday. I'm exactly like her and when I'm gifting to someone I always ask what they want and buy it. It's easy and avoids fake smiles, "thank you" and "I love it"!

Reminded me of one of my aunts. Before she would return the gift, she'd stretch and pull on them before even thinking of trying them on. Did she wear them? No. Did she return almost everything anyone ever got her? You bet.

That's why even though I love Jennifer Aniston, can't stand Rachel. The character is extremely self centered and doesn't care at all to other people's feelings.

I know that Rachel's character is often viewed as spoiled or petty but have a lot of friends, and I'm just like them, who are very particular in their style of either dress or décor or they're more the minimalist type... I let people know this about me before gift giving. But I'm also very sentimental. I'd rather have a hug or a rock or a 25 cent trinket from a thrift store that reminds me of the gift giver than something I may or may not use. I would never return a very well thought out from the heart gift for money. But I prefer to hoard blown out birthday candles and ticket stubs and nice notes people leave for me 😊

Ross is wrong, she's not devoid of sentiment, just entitled. We often seen Rachel being sentimental and having a heart, but returning items instead of just being grateful is different then unsentimental, it's just entitled.
