  • It's more accurately serving "virtual experience programs" with certificates like ones from Coursera, rather than what you'd expect from real internships. Nevertheless, it can still be a worthwhile experience if you know what to get out of it and how to get the most out of it.

    If I were to do one of these, could I put them in the projects section of my resume? Or would I have to make a new section specifically for certifications and put Forage in there?

    • @btnmondial
      @btnmondial Před 6 měsíci +1

      either will do aslong as you dont list it under work experience. Projects works better as it reflects tasks you were also able complete in an orderly manner

    Where can I mention the virtual internship in my CV/ Resume?
    We can mention it under certification, internship/experience or extra curricular activities in CV?

    • @rankintran
      @rankintran  Před 10 měsíci +5

      It depends on the context of other things you put on your resume.
      You can put this under an "Experience" section and describe the tasks you completed, or you can put a short title under a certification section if you already have a lot of experiences to list on your CV/Resume.
      If you want to reference my resume format, I opted to use a "Projects" section so the Forage experience could be included with examples of my school/personal projects.
      Hope this helps!

    thanks for this amazing and informative video! I wanted to ask abt internship themselves. As i understood, I can finish it whenever I want? So there is no certain deadline for it? Also, if i am not sure abt submitting my assignment and let’s say it’s wrong, will it affect to my certificate?

    • @rankintran
      @rankintran  Před rokem +4

      Thank you for your kind words!
      To answer your questions:
      - There are no deadlines, so you can finish whenever you want.
      - Your submissions are not checked for correctness, only completion. This means anyone can submit a blank file and still get the same certificate as someone who spend 100 hours on the assignment.

    • @sidramaryamtemuri5575

    Will you add this in experience section of the resume or education section? Quite confusing.

    • @rankintran
      @rankintran  Před rokem +7

      Either way works. If you do decide to include Forage on your resume, I'd recommend you put it in the Experience section since it lets you use the names of big companies and you can add bullets to explain what you've done or learned.
      In my opinion, Education implies a more academic source of learning (college course, online course, etc). If you don't want Forage items to take up too much room on your resume, you can simply list the relevant certificates you've earned in the Education section.
      If you'd like to reference my resume, I created a Projects section and added Forage items there with the additional label of a Project Certificate for each item and used bullet points to explain what I did for each project.
      Ultimately, it's up to your judgment on how you want to portray yourself to potential employers and interviewers.

      @rankintran  Před rokem +2

      In terms of skill-building, it did help me learn about presenting my ideas for problem solving. The creative brief gives people a detailed outline of how you want to reach goals and what's required.
      If you mean to ask about careers, I don't think it has really helped much. Employers haven't specifically asked me about it.
      What's more important is how you talk about your skills and how you could apply it to the job. You could mention what you learned from the lululemon course and how you applied it elsewhere.

    heyy i have a doubt that forage internship digital certificate is helpful for obtaining jobs? please reple me

    • @rankintran
      @rankintran  Před 18 hodinami +1

      Hi! I can't speak to how much recruiters value the digital certificate, but I highly recommend you try out Forage's offerings! It doesn't take a lot of time to complete (usually less than an hour or two) and it provides you with an opportunity to get experience doing certain key tasks of the job you want.
      The best part of Forage is being able to experience actually doing a task for a company's project without any unnecessary hurdles to jump through.
      The key is to think of how you can incoporate these tasks into your own work and think about how you will communicate your knowledge of your experience with the work. I find it's better to consider Forage as a self-study tool, rather than a job recruitment asset.
      I hope this helps. Reach out if you have any more questions I can answer for you.

    • @rankintran
      @rankintran  Před 18 hodinami

      I see where you're coming from, but for someone who is completely new to an industry and wants to gain personal experience for a job - I think it's very helpful. My point is that Forage can be a significantly valuable tool for independent exploration and learning what kinds of tasks you would be doing in a job and if you simply like doing them. From then on, you can build the depth of your knowledge by thinking about **how you will communicate what you learned from Forage** rather than simply stating that you got a certificate from them.
      Thank you for adding your perspective on the matter!
