  • This is my plug-and-play Custom Bally KISS Pinball Sound Board. The board is simple to install. No extra wiring or modifications are needed to your machine. Just remove the old AS-2518-50 sound board and install mine. It could not be simpler.
    It has a background song playing when the game starts and stops when the game ends. You can change songs with an optional push button mounted to the front of the cabinet. I have custom sounds (random 1 of 5) that play instead of the tunes (power-up, coin-up, start game, KISS 4x4 lamp bonus, tilt, and end game). I have pyrotechnic explosions that play for the pop-bumpers and cymbal crashes attached to the sling-shots. It also plays an attract sound every 3 minutes when a game is not being played.
    And... All the sounds are contained on a MicroSD card in WAV format. This means you can create your own. The board has 4 sound banks which can eventually hold 4 different sound sets for completely different experiences.
    This board only works in the Bally KISS pinball machine. I also offer a version for the Bally Star Trek and Lost World pinball machines - as well as versions for later Bally machines with the Sounds Plus/Vocalizer and Squawk & Talk sound boards.
    See my website to order one for your Bally KISS pinball machine.

    I bet you will never be able to play a stock sounding KISS pinball game again. I have similar custom sound boards for Bally Star Trek and Lost World pinball machines.

    I always said the sound on the original machine sucked. The only down side to it. Now this makes it so so much better. A game changer. Thanks. Ordered mine.

    I have a kiss to redo, your card is very interesting.
    I have two questions about it, what are now produced when you go through the spinners and for a shipment to France the cost is as for England $ 25?
    Last question related to pinball rather than your card, is it possible to find a ROM of this game with different rules from the original, a custom one?
    Thanks for your answers and congratulations for your work.

    That is fantastic! I am really curious how you're detecting what ball number you're on, or if there is a ball drain.. Is that a signal that is usually passed to the sound board on that game?

    • @geeteoh1
      @geeteoh1  Před rokem +1

      I am detecting solenoid ball eject commands. Sound and solenoid commands are on the same wires. Cannot really know which numbered ball you are on because cannot tell if multiplayer or earning extra balls. Most of the time, a 3 ball game has 3 ejects and a 5 ball game has 5 ejects.

      @@geeteoh1 OK.. cool - that's kinda along the lines I was assuming.. I'm more familiar with the Williams hardware than Bally, but with the connections I was seeing, I figured that was it. If I ever get a KISS I would consider this a MUST have.. watching the game, it was so much more engaging! I love that people are making hardware to upgrade these old games! I am kind of thinking of making some add-on stuff for Williams, but I need to upgrade my circuit board layout skills before I could actually come through with anything! Good luck with the sales!

    Can I use an external amp like the one you show being used in your squawk and talk board via the onboard 3.5mm female socket on this board? If so, where are you sourcing power for that amp? Thanks. Love your product, just looking to give it a bit more bass and clear volume...

    • @geeteoh1
      @geeteoh1  Před 6 měsíci

      Yes. It’s explained in the second part of this page and another video. geeteoh.com/speaker.shtml

    • @geeteoh1
      @geeteoh1  Před 6 měsíci

      If it’s a 12v amp, you can use my screw terminal next to the speaker connector. Or tap into the power switch on your machine if AC power.

    • @bobbydarby
      @bobbydarby Před 6 měsíci

      Thank you for replying so quickly! I'm going to use the same inexpensive amp you use in your demo and run it one sided for the time being, as I don't want to cut two holes under my machine. I already have the amp ordered. Am I losing my vision because I see no screw terminal(s) near the speaker connector on your board to supply the 12v to the amp.@@geeteoh1

    • @geeteoh1
      @geeteoh1  Před 6 měsíci

      @@bobbydarby my squawk and talk board has the 12v. My early sound board does not.

    • @bobbydarby

      Well then, I guess the only solution to powering up the small amp you recommend in the KISS application would be a stand-alone convertor from 120 AC to 12v DC.... bummer. :( Without an amp, the 8" speaker you recommended sounds no better than the original 4" OEM speaker, which appears to be in great condition on my machine. Both sound like a handheld AM pocket radio. Not cool. Needs more bass and some clarity. Any alternatives? You're the electronics guy, not me. I'm just a guy with enough info to be dangerous, but I do know what sounds good....and this aint it. When the pop bumper explosions go off, it sounds like it's blowing the cone out of the speaker...and I've got the board volume turned down to about 9 o'clock. Not enjoyable. Any suggestions? @@geeteoh1

    So I could take this card, put it in a Supersonic, put my own sounds on the memory card and be good to go?

    • @geeteoh1
      @geeteoh1  Před 11 měsíci

      This board only works in a KISS machine. It would do nothing in Supersonic. I have ones for Lost World and Star Trek also. Supersonic will be a ways out. Hopefully next year.
