These big conferences will eventually break down into smaller conferences or at least more than 2 divisions. Will probably see the SEC become just the south and divide into the sec and swc
It’ll break up and some point because the smaller schools aren’t going to get their fair shot at the title game if the same power houses keep winning the conference. Them boys will get sick of it and form their own conferences. Nobody wants to be the Vanderbilt of the conference every year.
Kansas Basketball alone can hold the big 12 together as well as K-State football is huge. And we're adding Colorado, TCU just went to the college football national championship and so many teams are really good. Big 12 is safe
Before the NIL I would agree. CFB is a lot like MLB since big schools get the best players like MLB with no cap, same teams are at the top and same at the bottom. Its exaggerated further with NIL.
It will be entertaining to watch. There will be more good matchups. USC, UCLA, Washington, and Oregon had it way easier in the Pac-12. Now they are going to have to outwin each other and the Big Ten teams.
A 12 team championship is the best thing NCAA has ever done what are you talking about. Bowl games were the most boring way to end a sport season in the history of sports. There is a reason so many people watch march madness - its sick
Weird because that was said before Texas played Georgia, but Texas won that game. That was said about Alabama and Texas won that game too. When exactly is Texas going to become a floor mat again, remind me? Just asking because Texas beat the 2 biggest dogs in the SEC and almost beat LSU in a sh*t season lol. IDK Texas looking pretty good.
Either your favorite team wins a championship or they don’t. That’s been the case 40 years ago and will be the case 40 years from now. It doesn’t matter what the conference alignments are. If you’re team is good they’ll be fun to watch
idk i think the poor pac 12 is the conference we should worry about, seeing as it's basically dead. Though I won't lie, I think a larger playoff pool is pretty neat.
They’re all students with credit progress requirements, GPA requirements, and graduation requirements. If anything, this has remained the same. Everything else has changed.
NIL is the worst thing to ever happen to college football. These are 19-21 year old kids who are making more than Brock Purdy who is an NFL QUARTERBACK. We need to calm down and focus on academics instead of NIL.
Academics and earning money from name, image and likeness are not mutually exclusive. In the absence of a true viable minor league, these kids need to not be restricted in earning whatever the marketplace says they’re worth. You wouldn’t want any less for yourself where you have a marketable skill, talent, or persona. The amateurism ship has sailed for those players in the programs that generate the millions in annual revenue.
Basically you'll have the SEC & B1G conferences monopolizing everything. Whatever is left of the PAC12 and Big XII will have to choose...going anywhere else is a step down
@@jeffgraham4549 Collegiate professionals. That's what they are. As soon as they start getting paid for football, they become pros. That's precisely what NIL deals are: paying players for football.
Plus there is an insane amount of talent in the future generations of football players, more than ever really. That’s why a lot of highschool football games can literally look like collegiate level games
NIL is okay, the transfer portal, not so good. Thats the real thing thats going to ruin the sport. It's just going to make walk-ons get poached by the bigger programs.
It was better because they played with the love of football and had something to prove(play for NFL money potential). Now they get all that while in college. You'll see the quality of the game decline over time as they have nothing to prove making NFL money while in college.
Large gathering college corporatism shouldn't be around much longer with technology already way passed due capabilites to zoom the education out and taking it to the pupils where they live in smaller gatherings. The regional representation died when we took it away from local bowl series and forced 132 colleges to define one champ.
I get the reasons of why they want to get paid. I just don’t think some of these guys are going to try as hard if they’re already rich before entering the league. Yeah they might play because they love the game but working to get paid for it was the goal. I just don’t think some of these guys need big checks right away. A full ride to a big school where you’re not paying anything is a huge accomplishment and a payment within itself.
This goes back to the 30 for 30..The big East..talking about Big East Basketball and how it was destroyed by teams joining..in particular..in NCAA football But they follow where the money at..The SEC and Big 10 or 12...Some teams can fit...others don't have any connection to the conference they go to..

It’ll break up and some point because the smaller schools aren’t going to get their fair shot at the title game if the same power houses keep winning the conference. Them boys will get sick of it and form their own conferences. Nobody wants to be the Vanderbilt of the conference every year.
They are essentially free agents every year looking for the best offer. At least we can drop the facade that these are student athletes.
Sad, but true. I can't watch it anymore.
Kansas Basketball alone can hold the big 12 together as well as K-State football is huge. And we're adding Colorado, TCU just went to the college football national championship and so many teams are really good. Big 12 is safe
CFB > NFL
Definitely
It’s an inferior product. But, good for you if you prefer college football. I sometimes prefer CFB myself.
Confrence Realignment and nil are definitely ruining college football.
I grew up watching college football and after hearing this wow…
When undefeated teams dont play for a national title and the whining SEC losers get to play, college football is already ruined.
It might solve college footballs biggest problem. The lack of competitive games. Just way too many 20-50 point lines.
The bigger schools will still outgun the smaller schools with NIL deals facilities etc
Exactly why I’ve never gotten into college football
A 12 team championship is the best thing NCAA has ever done what are you talking about. Bowl games were the most boring way to end a sport season in the history of sports. There is a reason so many people watch march madness - its sick
Not the Utah hit 😭. Brings back painful memories
At least they won all 3 times though! 😎👍🏻
Texas is gonna be the floor mat of the SEC😂
This didn't age well!!!
How about them Longhorns?
There's a ninety plus percent chance that USC won't even stay undefeated this year.
@@ImNotCatCourtThe Georgia game was 5 years ago in a bowl game with 11 starters out for Georgia wtf u talking abt
Either your favorite team wins a championship or they don’t. That’s been the case 40 years ago and will be the case 40 years from now. It doesn’t matter what the conference alignments are. If you’re team is good they’ll be fun to watch
It's mostly due to the machinations of ESPN.
idk i think the poor pac 12 is the conference we should worry about, seeing as it's basically dead. Though I won't lie, I think a larger playoff pool is pretty neat.
Fuck no so many rivalries and conferences are finna die. It sucks idk why they did this
😂 Why do people think Oklahoma is still a top 25 school they did terrible in the big 12 last year
So many rivalries...dead. I hate this so much.
No longer student athletes just athletes
They’re all students with credit progress requirements, GPA requirements, and graduation requirements. If anything, this has remained the same. Everything else has changed.
I don’t see why he would go in this draft when he could sneak up to a first rounder for sure next year.
This is an overreaction it will self-regulate
Are you serious? How? After the SEC and B10 poach all of the big teams from the other conferences? Just chasing the money man
@@drayiii980B1G*
Considering Oregon and Washington just went to the B1G and Arizona State and Utah are all but confirmed for the Big 12, I highly doubt that.
This aged well
@@Jalen_Milroe I didn’t say every conference would make it 🙄.
Think this is crazy? Wait until we start paying high school players for football.
💵 🏈 💵
Whatever is left of the PAC12 and Big XII will have to choose...going anywhere else is a step down
I hate how it is nowadays in college football
Why? I genuinely don't understand why dudes are mad these guys are finally able to get paid for NIL.
College in general in america
@@jeffgraham4549
Collegiate professionals. That's what they are. As soon as they start getting paid for football, they become pros. That's precisely what NIL deals are: paying players for football.
@@AdderTude Are you saying that is an issue?
Plus there is an insane amount of talent in the future generations of football players, more than ever really. That’s why a lot of highschool football games can literally look like collegiate level games
NIL is okay, the transfer portal, not so good. Thats the real thing thats going to ruin the sport. It's just going to make walk-ons get poached by the bigger programs.
I think the transfer pool should be eleminated. Once they sign with a school they should stay there.
Big
Ten going to be crazy next year
Yup.. everything has to be the same… ain’t it a shame when things actually have meaning and value
Could care less if they get paid , college football is better than NFL anyway 😂😂😂
It was better because they played with the love of football and had something to prove(play for NFL money potential). Now they get all that while in college. You'll see the quality of the game decline over time as they have nothing to prove making NFL money while in college.
More teams will move up and fill the void maybe even draw back the ones who left
I'm okay with this, players are getting paid now NCAA can do what they want. It did create a NFL monopoly though
This goes back to the 30 for 30..The big East..talking about Big East Basketball and how it was destroyed by teams joining..in particular..in NCAA football But they follow where the money at..The SEC and Big 10 or 12...Some teams can fit...others don't have any connection to the conference they go to..
"Follow the Money!!!"
I stopped watching the rigged NFL years ago. If NCAA football goes that direction I will stop watching that as well
Nooo college players are going to get paid due to NIL, this isn’t like how they used to do it!
Yea and thats the thing it's gonna Fing suck when that happens because you aren't going to see teams play a rival a true rival expect for every 5yrs if it comes down to 2 Conferences and honestly the Big-10 is overrated and the schools were luckily they had gotten close to 100M
This year is gonna suck for college football, the playoffs are gonna be a mess
They might as well just go down to just big 10 & SEC
NCAA screwed it up! Doing the conference championships plus NIL! Just pay athletes minimum wage! With free tuition, room and board!
I love how folks always want to pay someone else minimum wage. 😂
