Using the skip track buttons if you skip BACK it will take you to DC2 4, just keep hitting the back button until it says DC 0 Have one on our golf cart and FLIPPED the cart the other night. It went into that "send service" mode I think from the impact and roll. But got it upright and fixed - and THIS worked GREAT for the radio. THANK YOU!
It works. It took some time to understand the instructions but when I came to DC 4 up to DC 0, I knew it's going to work. Mine is jvc model kd-r492, and it worked. 💯 👌 Thanks

Absolute legend! I have found a radio someone threw out. And since i dont have the largest budget, i really wanted it to work, and IT DID!!! Thank you so much!
in my case KD-X341bt it was: * remove the radio mask * reset the device (hold the reset button for 10 sec) * return the mask and at the moment while returning the mask hold MENU and SkipTrack *...after that Dc Err should appear (if you succeed half the job is done) then rewind the song (Skip Track) until your screen shows DC2 0 * turn OFF the power(on the key), remove the mask, turn ON the power and hold the reset button for 10sec. Put the mask back on and turn on the radio.
I’m having no luck with my jvc KW-R930BTS double din headunit. I’ve tried at least 20 times holding the menu and skip button and then applying 12volts and it still reads protecting send service. I’ve also used a pen tip and held the reset button in for 10 seconds and it does cycle through the restart but still it remains in protected mode. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Small button behind face plate. Have to use something small like an ink pen to press it in. Same button you should have had to press before step 1. Good luck!

I have a same model as yours, and its in my boat as well, just cleaning the boat and use some water, it gives me this code, but its solved now.
