    Why is the distance taken between the 2 charges if the point of rotation is in the middle ?? Should the distance in torque not be the perpendicular distance between the mid point of the 2 charges ?

      I believe if you add the torques you can add the distances L/2 + L/2 which is just L and you get the same thing as the vid
